《Freshman》Alexander 3

Alexander

Well, it's the second day of school, and its all of the upperclassmen's first day. Of course they're not nervous, they've done this before. I was still a little bit nervous; who wouldn't be?

Since the upperclassmen were all here today, it would be a regular day of classes. They knew that freshman were still getting used to the school, so the teachers told us where the class we had next was.

I didn't realize that I had art and social studies with Savannah. We didn't go to those classes yesterday, so it was a nice surprise to me when I walked in to a class and saw the most beautiful girl at HHS.

I sat next to Savannah in art. The art teacher, Mr. Brunner, had told us to sit anywhere we'd like for today, and he'll give us assigned seats eventually. I was praying that my assigned seat would be next to Savannah.

In social studies, I sat behind her. We did have assigned seats in this class, but I wasn't complaining about where mine was.

I decided to be brave and ask a risky question.

"Hey, Savannah, do you have a phone?" I asked.

She turned around, "Yeah"

"Can you text?"

"Yep"

"What's your number?" She got her pen and wrote her number on my arm, because neither of us had paper. I smiled when I she turned around. What a great day this was starting out to be. It couldn't get better. But it did.

At lunch, Savannah asked me to sit with her. Of course I couldn't pass up that offer. So I bought my lunch and hurried over to where she was sitting. We were at a table with a few of her friends and a few of my friends, so it wasn't awkward.

We talked basically the whole lunch period, which flew by. Then, I walked her to her next class, which we didn't have together.

I couldn't stop smiling during my whole next class. I wasn't paying attention to the words that my teacher was saying, because I was thinking about Savannah the whole time. The only time I've ever felt this way was about Angela. I definitely do NOT feel the way I did then about her now.

"ALEXANDER!" yelled my teacher, Ms. Georges.

I came out of my trans and said, "What... what?" The whole class laughed. I even laughed a little, too. How long had they been noticing me spacing out? Long enough.
