《Freshman》08. A Moon with No Talent

A/N:
Geeezzz, Beam. Even I don't know how to save you anymore.
*
Beam is standing almost frozen in his spot. He knows he is in trouble. Big trouble. "Yeah... sorry, it feels like a beauty pageant to me. And, that is something I am not fond of."
"You are saying that because you have no talent to show," Forth hisses.
"Yup. Absolutely." Beam agrees instantly. "I have no talent. That's for sure. So, pick a better person than me. You can't bet your future Moon title on me. I am awful. I am a failure. Total loser. Yeah."
Posh covers his face with both palms. Even Wai can't believe what he hears. They are starting to regret being friends with Beam, but despite of the problems he always causes, Beam is fun to have around.
Forth gets tongue tied.
"Soft," Park whispers just beside Forth's right ear.
Forth glares at Park. He is really testing Forth's patience with his sudden accusations that he is soft towards Beam.
Forth turns his attention to Beam again. "Guess what? Since you are reaaally fond of this so called beauty pageant that much and you have the advantage of being best friends with last two years Campus Moons, why don't you just go for that?"
"What?" Beam can't believe that Forth decided to make Beam the Moon of Engineering.
"Your friends chose you anyway. And if you can't win this so called the beauty pageant, then you have to run 100 laps on the track field and do 1000 push-ups," Forth hisses.
Park looks at Forth un-amused. It's still soft for his taste.
"But, P'Forth... I don't have any talent at all..." Beam pleads.
"Then find one!" Forth says in frustration and then walks away.
"It was not only soft! It was fluffy!" Park mocks Forth.
No one knows what Park is talking about except Forth. And Forth cares as much by showing his middle finger as his response.
"Get him ready, Ming, or you're dead!" Forth yells.
Ming sighs.
"See... now you hold another man for his mistake," Park says in annoyance while following Forth.
"Shut up!"
Ming looks at Beam. "P'Beam, for once, can you please follow my lead?" He asks, no, begs to Beam.
Beam blinks. He looks at Ming. "You really think you can prepare me to be a Moon? Of Engineering?!"

Ming nods. "You actually have the quality, P'..."
"P'Ming is right, Beam," Posh says.
Wai nods in agreement.
"I am not asking you. You always agree with each other." Beam frowns at Wai.
Posh and Wai grin and even high-five.
"Come one, P'Beam, we have to take your data and some pictures at the University hall this afternoon." Ming taps Beam's shoulder and asks him politely to follow him.
"But, P'Ming..."
"It's funny how you call each other as P'," Posh comments.
Ming smacks on Posh's head. "He is older than me, us, moron. You should call him P' too."
Posh shakes his head refusing to do so. "As long as he is my classmate, he's Ai'Beam. Period."
"Come on, P'Beam, follow me." Ming asks.
"P'Ming, I should not."
"... before I drag you and use violence, P'Beam. Please, just follow me," Ming says coldly.
Wai blinks. "Hey, P'Ming is harder on you than P'Forth is. That's why P'Park must have said that P'Forth is being soft."
But Beam is already following Ming behind.
***
Everyone is content with how Ming leads Beam to be the Moon of Engineering together with Prae as the Star.
The promotion picture is already above the other Moons.
Beam really doesn't like this. He prefers doing SOTUS than having this Moon Gathering. "P'Ming, please... I don't want to...."
Ming drags Beam to the Moon Gathering anyway.
But during the second hours, Beam is already missing. Ming has to report to Forth and now Forth is dragging Beam along the hall and then throws him inside the Auditorium.
Beam pleads to Forth by his eyes. "Please na, Ai'Forth... I don't...."
Forth glares in anger. He doesn't want Park mocking him again and he may be right, he was too soft before. "It's P'...." he hisses.
"Please na, P'Forth...." Beam repeats his plead. He even makes two cute cat claw movements on his cheeks.
Forth laughs. That was cute but then he coughs to get himself together again. "That's cute, but still no." He pushes Beam's shoulder blade with both hands. "I'll be here if you need anything."
Beam sighs. He walks into the Auditorium. Wayo and Ming are there as last year Moons. Phana is there too to lead the gathering.

Phana and Forth's eyes meet for some time but then Phana breaks it first. It was still uncomfortable between them.
Wayo doesn't care much about the cold stare. He is happy seeing Forth. He even waves at him.
Kit is there too, just to mock Beam during the break later.
Park and Lam join Forth to his right and left.
"A push on the shoulder? That was soft. You should kick his ass for trying to skip the Moon Gathering," Park hisses at Forth.
Forth turns to Park. "Why don't you stop, Park?"
"You don't mean a lot to me, Forth, almost nothing. But Lam is always concerned about you," Park says in a whisper so Lam on the other side can't hear him. "You were a mess when Wayo chose Phana over you and all this time you have stopped playing? Lam is worried. If in any way you decide to move on, make sure it's not Beam. Because boy, falling for that man, you will need forever to move on and you'll hurt yourself and Lam along the way because of who he is."
"I do not feel that way towards Beam," Forth says.
"Are you sure?"
"I would've known if I did, don't you think?" Forth returns the question.
"I don't know," Park says. "You tell me."
"We have to get back to SOTUS." Lam breaks the cold fight between Park and Forth.
"I'll wait here."
"Pay attention to the Moon of Engineering this time, not to the last year's Moon of Science." Park warns Forth.
Forth looks at Park un-amused.
"And keep it professional." Park adds in a hiss.
Forth waves a middle finger as his answer.
Park walks away followed by Lam.
"Why are you always picking a fight with Forth?" Lam asks.
"Why do you always side with him?" Park returns the question.
"I do not." Lam retorts.
"Yeah? We'll see." Park clicks his tongue.
***
Ming as the last Year Campus Moon should equally guide the entire gathering. It leaves Beam with Forth, his senior Moon of Engineering. It should not have been needed if Beam did not try to skip the gathering all the time actually. But he is always trying and Ming can't handle him, so Forth is here for him.
Forth's inbox is full of Park's message which reminds him not to become soft and make sure Beam wins the competition while he is taking care of Forth's job in leading the hazing activities.
Forth answers all of Park's messages with middle finger emoji.
That man is really annoying when he is worried about Lam. Moreover, if it related to Lam being worried over Forth, it must be jealousy burning him.
"Maybe we have to make Park and Lam happen," Forth suddenly says to Beam between their discussions about the talent show in ten days.
Beam laughs. He is still thinking about the non-existent talent that he has but that sudden statement attracts his attention more.
"Park is always jealous of me. He is ridiculous. Lam is clearly head over heels for him. I mean... he lets Park invade his personal space. He always sides with Park despite of I being his best friend since high school." Forth is stressed out.
Beam chuckles. "But Park doesn't know about Lam's feelings and vice versa."
Forth sighs.
"Why don't you do something?"
Forth looks at Beam. "And then what? Max gets with Tul, Park gets with Lam, I'll be alone."
Beam smiles sadly. "Yeah... when suddenly your best friends ade having boyfriends, it's sucks. Big time."
Forth sighs.
"Are you alright?" Beam suddenly asks.
"No. Park annoys me."
"No, not Park. I mean..." Beam looks at the stage where Phana and Wayo are sitting side by side while the Star and Moon are getting guidance from their seniors.
Forth shakes his head. "I'm okay."
Beam looks at Forth in worry. "You were like me before, like Park before. I know why Park is worried. You are not playing yet means you have not moved on."
Forth sighs. "I have just been busy."
Beam sighs. "Yeah. Anything that helps you sleep at night, Forth."
"P'Forth." Forth corrects Beam.
Beam chuckles. "Ay, P'Forth na..."
Forth chuckles too. "You sure you have no talents?"
Beam shakes his head. "No. I have nothing."
"But girls are very fond of you."
"Because I am great at sex, P'Forth. You wanna see me having sex on the stage?" Beam asks calmly.

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Jerry tries to settle down, wanting nothing but a peaceful life for him and his undead—and, when that doesn't quite work out, he sets out to adventure. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.

The Adventurer's Guild(master)
In a world of adventure, magic, and kingdoms, only one man can keep it all from falling apart. As much as he wished that wasn't the case. This is the story of the man who became the guild master of the most prestigious adventurer's guild in the kingdom, and then came to completely regret that decision, as he is forced to keep the peace, file paperwork, and babysit adventurers. The life of a guild master is not as great as it once seemed. Note: The prologue is an extended -probably should have not took it that far- joke and is completely skippable from the rest of the series. This is my first work on this website, or on any website to be honest, so criticism is more than welcome. Feel free to leave comments on any chapter, not just the latest one.

Pocket Dungeon Lite
Based on the Pocket Dungeon original novel made by Stuckin (I asked for his permission beforehand). I do not know if this could count as a fanfiction as I made up many elements on the go so, for now, I will list this as an original but if Stuckin-sama would like me to change it I will be fine with doing so. This is somewhat of a self-insert but I made sure not to make the MC to OP. Also, the creator of the cover is Vurguy I tried to contact him to ask for permission but couldn't due to technical issues please go support him on Deviant Art and I don't own the picture so if he wants me to take it down than I am completely okay with doing so. As I am an improving author, I am glad to receive any constructive criticism or critical review I just hope that everyone will give me a chance before they yell at me for something or at least tell me what made them angry so I know what the issue is and can figure out how to deal with it. For now, my schedule is 1-2 chapters a week and if I am busy with either work or school 1-3 chapters every 2 weeks. I expect a bunch of chapters at the beginning around 5 or so and for me to continue from there. I will try my best to keep some chapters in storage for any time where I can't write for whatever reason. I will continue to change this part of the synopsis if anything changes in my update schedule. - From a thoughtful Author Pocket Dungeon is a widespread interstellar game that has captivated the attention of many races and civilizations. Nowadays in the 2300s anyone not living under a rock would grow up with a dungeon and learn to manage it over time as they make mistakes along the way. But as all things go there is always an exception and this exception can be found in Nadezhda Ledopad who had an overprotective family that didn't let him interact with anything but those they deemed worthy and safe. This overprotectiveness caused them to forbid him from gaining a pocket dungeon as they knew with his intelligence and specialties in certain fields he would become a strong dungeon master, quickly. This was something his family was very much against as they knew that his competitiveness and duty to maintain the Ledopad family's reputation would push him to win in the competitions that he would inevitably get invited too. This all changed when Nadezh graduated high school and moved to the Celestial Plane capital star as a Prodigal student in planetary conservation (major) and revival of species through DNA transferal (minor). His brother in all but blood Tet schemed to get him into Pocket Dungeons when they got there as no one would keep Nadezh from playing. Nadezh excited to join his peers in this famous game looked forward to doing so. But with this one decision, many futures changed and the Fates laughed as people of strong destinies meet together on this plane. Warning - This will probably contain LGBT+ relationships. You have been warned, I will not tolerate stupidity to the ninth degree in the comment section and I hope that people can be logical enough to GO AWAY if they don't like this kind of thing. If you don't feel comfortable with mature or explicit scenes I will put a warning in the chapters or parts with such and I just wanted all of you to know that this will be a long novel as with most novel I will write in the future so don't expect a deep romantic relationship anytime soon.
