《Mute - Zelink Modern AU》Someplace Else (11)

She only knocked once as her nerves calmed down. It seemed to have started well, so the hardest part was out of the way.
Just a mere second later, Link appeared at the door and opened it quickly.
"Hi!" Zelda said enthusiastically, standing on the spot. Link smiled at Zelda comfortingly, before stepping aside and waiting for a couple seconds.
"What are you waiting for?" Link let out a small chuckle. He beckoned her to come inside.
"Oh, erm- Nothing!" She laughed back, quickly stepping inside. Link closed the door behind her.
She turned around quickly to see Link smiling at her, but he looked away immediately.
He wasn't wearing his pyjamas this time, but a green top that looked really comfortable. It was in the middle of loose and skin tight as it hugged his body perfectly. The short sleeves hung over the top of his arms as they too were a perfect fit to his average sized body. He was wearing a pair of loose bottoms; they weren't quite jeans but they weren't tracksuit bottoms either. On his feet, navy blue socks that looked really fluffy and comfortable, Zelda was sure that she had a pair herself. Overall it was such an average outfit, yet Zelda couldn't help but notice how good he made it look.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Link asked, gliding on the wooden floor towards the kitchen.
"Water please" Zelda politely replied, taking off her shoes but keeping her backpack on her back.
Once Link had disappeared into the kitchen, Zelda turned to her left and opened the sliding door that led to the room where they were last time.
She walked in and sat on the couch where she were sat last time and pulled the maths book out of the draw. She opened it on the page that she left off on, then put her backpack on the floor at her feet.

Just a couple of seconds later, Link walked in with two glasses of water. He gently placed them both on the table before sitting down next to Zelda.
"Thank you" Zelda said, with a wide smile.
"You're welcome" He replied. He then turned his attention to the maths book before letting out a small sigh. "I was thinking that maybe we could move away from maths and focus on something else" He added, looking at Zelda to see her initial reaction.
"Sure. What do you need help with?" Zelda immediately responded as she closed the book. She sounded happy to move on from maths.
"Actually... It's about the English exam" He swallowed hard.
"So it seems we can try help each other then. I'm struggling too. O-obviously not as much as you though" She replied, trying to be careful with her words.
"You're struggling with English?" He replied. He was shocked as she always got the highest marks and excelled if anything.
"It's not so much the speaking part that's messing me up, but I just have no idea what to base it on, what the topic should be" Zelda honestly answered.
"Yeah, I still haven't thought about that either"
She probably knows anyway, there's no point in hiding it anymore. Link thought.
"But obviously the talking is what's going to make it almost impossible" He sighed as he looked down.
This is almost like a tease now. Zelda thought.
"But it's not completely impossible. Besides, if you try, you can't possibly fail"
"I guess. Thank you" He looked up, a smirk on his face as his started to look less sad.
Zelda sat silently for a minute, but eventually came up with an idea.
"How are you with talking in public? Like just out in town?" Zelda asked out of the blue.

"Normally fine" He replied, his face fixed in the same position.
"I have an idea" Zelda commented, shifting closer to the end of the couch.
"What is it?"
"Why don't we go to the library in town? It might inspire us both"
"O-okay. I'll have to text my mum and ask her though"He replied, his face emitting a glow that weren't there before.
'Is it alright if I go into town with Zelda for a bit?' The text read.
He got a reply almost immediately after it was sent.
'You do realise that that involves you going outside, right?'
'Yes. I've never had much of an issue with the general public. Besides, I've got Zelda' He replied, discreetly hiding his phone from Zelda's line of sight.
'I guess I didn't think you'd be going to town with a friend any time soon. Of course you can go'
He didn't reply after that and just put his phone back in his trouser pocket.
Zelda looked at him in suspense until he raised his hand and made a thumbs up, his teeth shining through his smile.
"Awesome! Let's get going then. There's a bus every ten minutes so we won't have to wait long" She jumped up excitedly and clapped her hands.
Link laughed at how she reacted, but followed her lead regardless.
They made their way down to the closest bus stop and managed to just catch a bus. They were sat on a seat close to the back next to each other.
Zelda kept a close eye on Link as they hadn't interacted much outside of Link's house. She wanted to see if he'd act the same way in public as he did at school. He said he was fine though, so she was some what at ease.
After the ten minute bus journey, they made it to the library.
"Have you ever been here before?" Zelda asked as they walked up the stairs leading to the entrance.
"Once or twice a few years ago" He replied, his foot steps sinking up with hers.
