Just a mere millisecond after Zelda shouted, everyone else stopped in unison. Link included.

There was a moment of silence before she continued, where she tried to steady her shaky hands and not let the adrenaline get to her.

"Who do you think you are?! Why and how the hell can you say these things to someone you don't even know?! The most you know about Link, is his name" She was stood in the middle of Link and Mido, so Link only saw her back and not her blushing face.

"Why are you sticking up for him? Has he talked to you or something?" Mido asked, in shock at normally calm Zelda's second outburst.

Link's stomach dropped as he was afraid of the answer. His legs felt weak as he realised that although he thought it was helping his condition, talking to anyone at school was such a massive risk. Link expected Zelda to tell the truth, she didn't seem like the type of person to lie.

"No" She said firmly lying. Link's eyes widened as she sounded so believable. "But I still know someone's being a dick for no reason when I see it" Her voice was a lot quieter than what it were when she first started shouting.

"Whatever" Was all Mido could reply. He kept walking. Past Zelda, past Link, until he reached the door.

Link was still glued to the floor as he slowly tured back around, a smile slowly creeping onto his face. However, he started to feel stiff and uncomfortable, so he started to walk out too, not making anything more awkward.

Zelda realised that everyone was staring directly at her, so she left almost immediately after Link, but she was running.

She rushed out of the double doors, not paying any attention at all. She knew that people would bring this up a lot, but she knew it was for the better, and didn't regret it for a single second.

She breathed in the cool, crisp air in a deep breath, but didn't look where she was going as she ran straight into Link.

"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry" She said, realising it was him, winking at him as she continued to jog home.

Man. I can't wait until Sunday. Link thought. But it was only Monday.

The days dragged on, but it was finally Saturday. The week from Monday was extremely uneventful and boring. It seemed that nothing had changed, and that Monday was just an eventful day.

However, Link was getting super anxious about Zelda coming over the next day. He knew that he had to thank her for what she did on Monday, but he was scared that he'd end up getting another 'episode' again. He was still in confusion about what triggered the last one. He came to the conclusion that he was just thinking too much, as that seemed to be the trigger for one off situations.

It didn't seem so bad having his condition, as people could just avoid what made them freeze, but when that thing was school, it wasn't possibly avoidable.

"Link?" His mother knocked on his door, saying his name sweetly.

"Yeah, come in" He replied. He was sat on his bed in his pyjamas, as it was 11pm and he was playing a video game to settle down and calm his nerves.

"Zelda's coming over again tomorrow, isn't she?" She asked, closing the door behind as she entered the room.

"She should be, yeah" Link paused his game to focus his attention onto his mother.

"Have you... made any friends recently?" She sat next to him.

"The answer will never change, no matter how many time you ask me" He sighed. She asked him the same question every week.

"I don't get it. You haven't been having episodes as frequently recently, why won't you say anything at school?"

"What, and just act like I've always been doing it? You know it's not as easy as that" He looked away, swallowing hard.

"Link, you know I love you, but there is a huge difference between having a disorder and being a... wuss"

"What are you trying to say!? That I'm faking all this?" He was starting to get angry. Normally, their conversation would've ended by now.

"No, I'm just saying that you're exaggerating the severity of it" She saw Link's facial expression drop. "I know you can't help it when it does happen, but you've used it as an excuse to not make any friends since you were diagnosed-"

"Get out" Link cut her off.

"You need to stop isolating yourself-"

"You could never possibly understand what it's like, so don't go preaching about it. You have no clue! Imagine, being physically unable to talk, yet you're still expected to. Even if I want to say something and inside I'm practically screaming it, nothing comes out!"

"But even with the support groups, you still refused" She stood up and walked towards the door.

"I didn't want to go, and you knew that. I was uncomfortable"

"But from what I heard from you, and Zelda's mother, you talked to Zelda with no problem. She's in your school, isn't she!?" She opened the door as she started shouting.

"She's different!" He shouted, squeezing his eyes shut.

"How!?"

"It's not me who decides who I'm comfortable around. My body doesn't... mess up with her. Now for the love of the Goddesses, will you please get out!" He stood up and slammed the door behind his mother himself. He hung his head on it and sighed deeply.

I know she doesn't deserve this. He thought. But I hate when people with no idea decide to say things like that, like they know more than I do about my own condition. When in reality, that's not how it works. I'm not just being a wuss. Am I over exaggerating? Maybe. But I just don't want to change everything so suddenly, and the thought of speaking like anyone else would in school terrifies me.
