《Tiny Hylian (Sidon x Link)》Twenty-Two

Words
I stand, glancing around the Divine Beast's interior. It's so hot in here that I want to die. I want to die. I walk forward and knock out a few terminals, sweating in the harsh Death Mountain heat. At least Vah Naboris was cool inside. This one is stupid.
The monks keep taunting me but I don't listen, instead focusing on the task at hand. I don't remember this one too well, focusing more on getting the rush of memories out of my head in my previous encounter with this Divine Beast.
I remember exactly how damn hot it was in here, though. Goddammit. How do the Gorons live in this place? The armour is heavy on my head and shoulders, and I try to relish every moment of sight I can get. Unfortunately, I'm on a time limit.
That dumbass monk keeps talking about oh, twenty minutes, and oh, are you distracted? Happy to have your sight back? How's your voice working out?
"SHUT UP!" I yell, and he does. I kick the ground. I'm an idiot for coming here. A stupid idiot.
Somehow, I wind up with five minutes left. No sign of Fireblight anywhere, but if I hear any kind of indication of that bitch, I'm going into battle mode.
"Two minutes, Hero," the monk taunts, and I huff, doubling my pace. I can't find the last stupid terminal and I'm going to die because of it. I rotate Rudania over and over again, checking every nook and cranny of the thing, but the monk keeps talking and I can't focus—
"Three... Two... One..." Something, some invisible force, hits me so hard that I go flying across the room. Pain shoots through me, and I see Fireblight loom over me, raising its huge sword.

It brings it down, and I wake up.
I jolt up, sitting upright, breathing heavily. I cup my face in my hands. That was so realistic. I can't calm down. It was so realistic. Realistic beyond dreamland. It could've been a vision of the future, a vision of how I really die, of how I leave this world forev—
"Bad dream?" I hear Sidon sit up, and he wraps his arms around me, kissing my temple. I close my eyes again, replaying the dream over and over. Too realistic.
"Thank you."
"I love you."
I've been pondering this marriage thing for a full month now, although it seems like much longer. After two nights ago's odd dream, I decided I'd do it sooner rather than later, and today is the first day in awhile where I've had no meetings, nothing to distract me.
Today. I need to do it today or else I'll miss my chance. My next few weeks are full of more meetings about the whole East Reservoir situation. The ice around the Domain died down, so people could come into the Domain, like Zelda for one.
No one wants to leave the Domain for some unknown reason. I guess they really like it here.
"Hey, follow me," I say, keeping my voice as nonchalant as possible. Link takes my hand, I lead him out of the Domain up to one of the small mountains surrounding it. No one comes here often, and if they did, then I'd hear them.
I'm so smart, thinking of this place. "What's this?" Link signs, looking confused. "Where are we going?"
I stroke his hair. "You'll see."
"...really..."
"Har har. You know what I mean." I roll my eyes and sit under a big tree, the leaves forming a canopy above me. The sun isn't quite setting yet, casting warm light onto my face as I make myself comfortable, clutching a small box tightly in my hand. The small box.
Link sits beside me and rests his head on my arm. "This is nice."
I inhale deeply.

Portals have opened throughout the world, their depths containing untold wonders. There are those who plumb the Deeps searching for treasure, Skills, or even Spells. These people are Delvers, the elite of Earth who come from the most common origins to the highest echlons of power. The world is witnessing the rise of those who are more than human, their actions, words, and deeds becomming legends that will be passed down through the Ages. Unfortunately, Eve Smith missed out on all that fun since she was transported away from Earth right as the portals opened.

Some people are lucky, some aren't, some - have terrible luck. Our "hero" is of the latter kind. During young age he got into an accident, which allowed him to learn the fact that he belongs to a rare group of people.. People diagnosed with lung cancer, which he, however survived. Can't say he's lucky, as his life went downhill from that point... Our story happens years later, when his fate decides to make a loop and throw him in the same kind of accident. He gets hit by a truck. Surviving the crash, suffering just a few scratches, he is ultimately "lucky" to find himself out of the hospital in no time.. however every bit of good luck always brings him terrible luck afterwards. This time pushing him maybe a bit too far.. How far? Making him vanish without a trace and find himself in the middle of an unknown forrest. Doesn't sound bad? He can consider himself lucky? Just wait and see...It can always get worse.. always.. .... Congratulations, you've made it through the intro and into the author note! If you by any chance missed the tags and didn't read the warning, please do that now. I really recommend you to. Before you jump to reading, and unintentionally scar yourself, do mind that the story is about a dark, unforgiving world, a world in which you have more opportunities to die a horrible death, than take a piss. Hero doesn't have great luck, he has dumb persistance, he doesn't go through any trial with a breeze, he pays the price of blood, flesh and tears to live..and will be paying for every mistake.. No one outright explains anything to him, just as us for the most part - he is not sure what the hell is going on.. Some real survival tactics are used as a base of the descriptions, they are as important to the world and character as any other element.. Mind that the story starts really slow, but as the stone starts rolling downhill - the pace gets faster.. Every tag for this novel has a reason to be there, so if you don't see the particular element there, don't panic.. it's either well camoufalged, subtle or simply not encountered as of yet. Big thanks to Hobbo, Enyhrye and Hveth! ...not only pointing that the description could be better, but providing invaluable input.. and being patient enough to give fleshed out advice.
