You and Link exchange glances before you push on the doors entering Impa's house. Inside, you can see her waiting for you, positioned on her usual tall stack of cushions. Impa's granddaughter, carrying a basket of folded laundry while walking up the stairs, stops in her tracks. She bends down to look at the rare visitors and spots Link. Her face erupts in red and she runs upstairs with thumping footsteps.

You and Link briefly look up at the unexplained action before you step closer to Impa.

"So..." the elder starts before you open your mouth, "the swords have been returned to their rightful owners." She eyes the weapons from under her hat as she lifts her head. "Heh, just as I expected of you two. Your swords are your counterparts. So long as those blades are at your sides, you shall wield enormous power."

"The princess risked everything for you two and the sword that seals the darkness. Do not forget that, and do not waste this chance. By the way, how are you faring thus far?"

"We've taken back all the Divine Beasts," you claim and look at Link again.

"I sensed it," Impa says. "Their presence... Daruk, Urbosa, Revali, Mipha. A hundred years ago, I put my life on the line to fight alongside everyone. But, I could not predict this. They died without fulfilling their destinies. I have lived all this time thinking they died in vain. But this energy I feel from their presence..." her wrinkled face spreads in a smile, "it seems they have not given up. I can also sense... that they were all overjoyed to see you again."

'Even Revali, huh?' you think.

"Now you all serve the same purpose!" Impa suddenly says with all seriousness. "Now it is time to attack Calamity Ganon, while he is weak! Hurry to the princess! Go, now! I believe you will find Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle. Even with blessings of the Divine Beasts on your side, you must be careful. Calamity Ganon will be well protected."

'The guardians.'

"Be prepared for anything!" she advises.

"We understand," you nod.

You and Link walk back towards the door and open it for the last time. You glance behind you to Impa and see her smile on you. You return it and close the doors behind you.

The sun was starting to set, so it would be ill advised to set off further on your journey. You and Link make a meal to conclude the day and head off to the inn, paying for two beds, and falling asleep.

It was honestly difficult to fall asleep. You stare up at the wooden ceiling, dwelling on the fact that this was one of the last nights before you head off to Ganon. Everything you've done, even before you woke up, all leads up to that one moment of truth.

~

"What if we added violets to this?"

"Ooh, go ahead. That'll make it even better."

You watch Link add the flowers to the omelets in the cooking station. After a few moments more of cooking, Link flips the eggs over to reveal a perfectly cooked breakfast. Your eyes widen and you can feel your stomach rumbling even more. Next to you, Link grins and subconsciously forms fists in his success.

Once the meal was served, you sat back with Link and ate together. "What's the plan for today?" Link asks you.

"We should steadily be heading north," you say, "but we still don't know where the lab is exactly. We should ask around."

"Yeah..." Link replies without the tone that he was listening. You turn to him and see him staring at something in the center of town.

"What?" you say and try to follow his line of vision.

"That guy," Link points. You widen your eyes as you see his action and immediately grab his wrist.

"Don't point, that's rude," you whisper and drag his hand down.

"Sorry," he whispers back. "That guy," he continues at a normal speaking volume, "he's been at every stable we've been to."

You look at the man of referance. He was a Sheikah, late in age, with hair tied up at resembled a paint brush. He was looking at Impa's house, which he painted several times, in deep thought.

"Really? I never noticed him before."

"Yeah, he paints landscapes."

"Does he? Now that I think about it... I remember seeing him when I first arrived here. You thinking of talking to him?"

"Would it come off as weird?"

"I don't think so. Honestly, he looks like he's in need of some assistance."

"What do you mean?"

"He's thinking so hard... I can see the gears turning in his head."

"That's one way to describe him," he chuckles.

You finish your meals, clean up your space, and head down near the goddess statue to talk to the man. Before you open you mouth to greet him, he beats you to it.

"Are you... Sorry to bother you, but are you fellow travelers?" he says. Now that you are closer to him, you are able to see a sleeve of tattoos down his bare arm. "As for me," he continues before you could answer, "I looove art. In fact, I'm traveling the world in search for beautiful landscapes."

He then leans closer to you and Link. "Just between you and me," he whispers heavily, "I hear there's a Great Fairy Fountain near this village. I hear it's breathtakingly beautiful. Aesthetics aside, they also say the place can bestow people with some kind of mysterious power. I've been researching it for ages, and I finally have a lead. There's a place that's beyond suspicious. The problem is, I can't seem to find the fountain there."

His shoulders droop as he tells you his troubles. "Nothing beats the thrill of tracking down the perfect view. As fellow travelers, you understand the sentiment, right?"

"We understand," Link nods with a faint smile, recalling all of the pictures he's taken.

"Oh, I knew it!" he beams as if he's never found someone as passionate as him. "I just knew there was someone nearby who appreciates true beauty. Sadly, I can't pin down the exact location of the Great Fairy Fountain. I only have that suspicious place... In fact, I was about to head there now. Would you like to come along?"

Link looks at you and sees you nod of 'why not'. "Sounds great," Link agrees.

"Great answer! Just what I expected from a fellow beauty connoisseur like you. All right then, follow me!" Pikango takes off in a job down the path to your left.

You and Link follow behind him with matching pace. Pikango takes you around the town and to the path up the surrounding cliffs, the same path you took when you woke up. The path becomes more and more familiar the farther up you climb.

Once you turn a corner and pass under an archway of wood and strung paper, Pikango stops and turns around to you. Before he could say anything, he bends down with his hands on his knees and pants heavily, holding up a finger to communicate 'just a second'.

"So... tired..." he pants. "Hills aren't easy for old fogies like me. Sorry, but I don't think I can go on. The Great Fairy Fountain should be... along the path that leads past the shrine. That's what I've been told anyway. Yeesh, I'm completely out of breath! That always happens right about here. I better rest for a bit. You go on ahead. And hey, if you find it, don't forget to get a picture!"

Pikango straightens up and takes a seat on the edge of the path. You and Link take off down the path he was referring to. "This is where I woke up," you say.

"Really?"

"Yeah, we're gonna pass it, if this is the right way."

You continue down the path and observe everything around you alongside Link. Soon enough, you come across the lone Shrine in a clearing.

"This is it," you say. It looked like a normal shrine that can be found all throughout Hyrule, only this was was accompanied by a blue glowing platform in front of it with a Sheikah orb placed neatly inside. Now that you met Purah, you can imagine she was the one that placed the relic and discovered the shrine as she claimed.

"I don't see the fountain anywhere," you say as you look around. Link, however, was still staring at the shrine and contrasting it against the one he woke up in.

"That's because he said it was beyond the shrine," Link points out.

"But the path ends here."

"Maybe we went the wrong way?" Link looks all around, almost spinning in a circle, before he finally spots something unusual. "Wait, down there."

You look to where he's pointing and see an orange glow between the trees. You carefully jump off the ledge and land on your feet with Link following suit. You walk along the main path leading up to the clearing. In said clearing was a magnificent plant you've never seen before.

The plant was three times your height, prematurely green, and covered in red thorns. The orange glow you saw was sturdy mushroom tops serving as steps towards a seam in the plant. Surrounding the clearing was flowers of many colorful types, as well as pink glowing bugs you've never seen before.

You walk closer to what you presume is the fountain. But as soon as you got too close to the bugs, they drift farther up in the air, out of reach. Upon closer inspection, you can now tell that they aren't bugs, but fairies.

Fairies hold magical power. In fact, the healing potions you were given at Gerudo Town were made of fairy magic in the tonic.

You slowly grab an empty glass bottle that once held the fireproof elixir and keep your eyes on the fairies. Slowly and quietly, you approach a nearby fairy and catch it in the glass. You bottle it and hold it up to your eyes to look closer.

The magic light coming from the fairy was too bright to see the actual body, but you could make out a pair of beautiful, iridescent wings.

Link, curious to see why there was steps leading up to the plant, steps up to the closed leaves and inspects it.

"Boy..." a mysterious, wailing voice speaks from within the plant. You turn around, alarmed at the unnerving voice, and see Link with an identical expression to yours. "Sweet boy..." the voice speaks louder. "Please... listen to my story..."

Link looks around at you with wide eyes, not knowing what the hell to do. You give him a shrug.

"Sure," he decides to reply with hesitation.

"I am the Great Fairy Cotera," the voice says. "This place was once a beautiful spring. But as time passed, fewer and fewer travelers arrived to deliver me rupees. As a result, my power has abandoned me. I am nearly powerless now, so I beg your help. I need rupees to become whole again. All I need is 100 rupees. Once my power has been restored, I can help you do great things, boy."

Link turns to you again, but then startles back as a large, human hand pokes out of the seam of the plant. "Now... if you have rupees, hand them over to me, quickly!"

"Uhm..." Link starts and nears his pockets. "If it's only 100... Here." Link holds out the rupees to the large hand, which then snatches them from him and nearly causes him to fall of the platform. The hand pulls back into the plant with the new power.

You walk over to the base of the steps. "Thank you," the voice says, "you are too kind."

The plant begins to spring and churn with puffs of purple escaping from the top. "The power..." the fairy exclaims. "It's overflowing!"

The leaves of the plant peel apart and fume the air with purple fog that smells of perfume. Your eyes begin to water at the pungent smell and you shut them, coughing the fumes out of your lungs.

Once the smoke clears, you are able to look up and see the full bloomed fountain. The fountain was a rose colored flower with petals larger than horses. In the center was a pool of water surrounded by gold sculptures and carvings. Music seemed to ring from deep within the pool.

The water begins to bubble and stir, rumbling the ground until the fairy surfaces herself with a victorious laugh. She was a beautiful giant, bedecked in glittering jewelry. Her hair was parted with exceptional volume, and her ear was cuffed in an earpiece with the design of fairy wings.

Cotera calms her grin and sighs in bliss. "Oh what a feeling," she says and looks down to see you and Link. She gasps with wide eyes upon seeing you. "Oh! I can't believe it!" she marvels and leans down, sloshing water throughout the pool. You startle back as she comes closer.

"I have not one visitor, but two!" she gleams. "Oh, it is so good to see young Hylians again," she sighs. "And you're so cute, too!"

You have no idea how to react.

"Here's this," she offers and straightens up, "thanks to you, I've returned to my former glory. And as they say-- one good turn deserves another. Allow me to enhance your clothing. It's the least I can do."

"Oh," you utter as you realize her kind offer. "Thank you."

"Any time!" she beams. "I think I can enhance your hood and your boyfriend's tunic. That way, they'll protect you and absorb any shock delivered."

"Yes please," you nod, ignoring the assumption. Link gives you a side glance as he jumps to conclusions, hearing you didn't correct her.

"Then I'll do my thing," she sings. Cotera brings her hands to her lips and blows you and Link a kiss. Sparkles glittered in the air and blow your clothes, enchanting it with her magic of enhancement.

You and Link look down in wonder as the magic effects die down.

"All finished! Just a bit stronger now," Cotera sings. "Well, I'll see you later. But do visit me again sometime," she winks.

Again, you have no idea how to react. You choose to go with a wave as she bids you goodbye with a laugh and a flourish. She plunges back into the water. The pool stills and golden lights settle, hovering above the water.

You and Link slowly turn to each other with the same expression. Then at once, you both burst out laughing.

~

"You found it?!" Pikango shouts. "Really? Are you serious right now?! And if you are, then where's the picture? You remembered to bring the picture, right?"

"Yeah," Link says and grabs his Sheikah Slate. "Here."

Pikango leans forward to see the Sheikah Slate screen clearer. "This..." he leans closer, "is the Great Fairy Fountain? It's certainly beautiful, but... I thought it would be more... sacred and elegant."

Link puts the Sheikah Slate away.

"Well, I'm impressed you found it," Pikango says. "I want to give you something to show my appreciation, but I don't have anything on me." He hums in thought and rubs his chin. "I know!" he suddenly shouts, causing you to jump slightly. "Is there a place you've been seeking? I've traveled all over Hyrule, so I might be able to help you find it."

An idea crosses Link. "Well," he says and gets the Sheikah Slate out again, "we have a few locations we're looking for. Does anything look familiar?" He shows the artist the captured memories.

"A large gate with a snowy mountain beyond it..." he looks at the eleventh picture. "Oh, I know that place! There is a big mountain east of this village. It's called Mount Lanayru."

"That's Mount Lanayru?" you mutter and look at the picture as well.

"At the base of Mount Lanayru, on the west side of Naydra Snowfield, lies that gate. I'm almost certain!"

Link quickly turns the Sheikah Slate back around and selects the map feature, looking for the described location.

"I'm glad I knew about the location," Pikango says. "I suppose my help was useful, then?"

"Yes, thank you," Link says as he puts away his Sheikah Slate.

"I'll be seeing you," Pikango bids as he jumps to his feet. You look over Link's shoulder to watch his search as the Sheikah heads back down the path.

"I think he means right here," Link points to a sliver of a lake.

"Alright yeah, we can go there. It's at least heading north, so it still goes with the set plan for today."

"If we take Ginger and Epona up this path and go down here, we can follow this path and find it along here."

"Then let's go."
