《The First Champion | BOTW Link x GN!Reader》Divine Beast Vah Medoh

"Normal arrows won't put a dent in those cannons. You'll need to hit them with bomb arrows," Teba says and reaches in his quiver.
"I already have some," you say and hold up the left over bomb arrows you were given to defeat Vah Naboris. Link holds up some of his.
"Alright, that takes care of that," Teba says. "But let me just ask you this: why are you doing this? Why risk your life to bring down Medoh?"
You think about your answer for a second. "To save Rito Village."
"Rito Village? It's not like you'll get the keys to the village, you know. Well, that's nice... but no changing your mind once you get up there and see Medoh up close. That's fair enough. All set Harth?"
"All set," Harth nods.
"Get on," Teba says to you and crouches down. You mount his back and grab onto his shoulders, similar to how you did with Sidon. Link climbs on Harth's back and gives you a thumbs up.
Teba takes off and flies up and out of the Flight Range. The higher you get, the colder the air becomes, and the louder the wind howls.
Teba flies you in close to Medoh. "Alright," he says, "it's showtime. Man, I feel like I am going to freeze up here!"
'Me too', you think.
Medoh lets out its call and starts glowing a bright red around its perimeter. "There's Divine Beast Vah Medoh. It has its barrier up again. What a pain..." Teba complains. "Alright, let's go over the plan. See those cannons? I'll draw their fire. While I'm doing that, you and Link will use your bomb arrows to destroy the cannons. If you need to withdraw for a bit, hang in the air and I will find my way to you. Oh and, don't bother in aiming at anything covered by Medoh's barrier. It's impenetrable. And do not get close enough to touch it."
"Got it," you say, "let's go."
You jump off from Teba's back and paraglide down toward the first cannon. It's beam aims at Teba, soaring above, giving you the perfect opening to fire. As you get closer though, you draw its attention and the laser is redirected towards you.
You draw an arrow and fire it straight into the cannon's eye, only half destroying it. You fire another and watch it explode into malice. You open your glider again and get propelled upward. You look to your right and see that Link already destroyed the cannon on his side. You then make your way towards the other side.

Compared to Naboris, this battle is a breeze.
You fire the last arrow towards the cannon and watch it get destroyed. Medoh lets out a shrieking call as the light from the barrier disappears into nothing.
You soar towards Medoh's now exposed back. "Well done, (Y/N)!" Teba calls over the wind. "That thing is history!"
You catch up to Link and glide side by side with him over Medoh. The sight is incredible from a distance. Harth flies by Teba and they both speed towards you two.
"Bad news, guys," Teba says, "it looks like I got hit pretty bad back there. I think-- I think I need to get back to the Flight Range."
"Oh no, you too, Teba?" Harth says. "Come on, let's hurry on back."
"Right," Teba says and turns back to you and Link. "Head down to Medoh. Good luck! It's all you two!" Teba gives you a thumbs up and changes course to the Flight Range with Harth.
You descend down to Medoh's tail with Link by your side. You land with a soft thump onto the beast's stone surface.
Oh, how you don't miss this.
Link hurries over to the pedestal and scans the Sheikah Slate. The travel gate beneath your feet suddenly glows with a bright blue light.
"Well now, I've seen those faces before." You hear a voice say. You can't help but smile as you hear the familiar tone of Revali. Still salty as ever. "I had a feeling you would show up eventually. But making me wait a hundred years is a bit... indulgent. You're here to wrest control of Medoh away from Ganon, correct? Then you'll need to activate the main control unit. Think you're up to it?"
You smirk at his challenging, skeptical tone. "I saw the control unit on Medoh's back. Let's head there." You say to Link and walk inside. The contaminated smell of the malice lingers and fumes in the air. Immediately, you see your path is blocked by a wall of malice. You draw your bow and fire an arrow at the red eye lazily looking into the room ahead. It shrivels up and dissolves into a cloud of toxic air, along with the malice.
You run forward and open your paraglider, catching the air stream below, and sending you skyward. You glide forward out of the winds and let go, falling down. You turn to Link and see him just behind you. He catches up to you and gives you a nod to reassure the worry in your expression.

You walk with Link up to the orange, pulsating unit. Link steps forward and holds out his Sheikah Slate, knowing full well what is going to happen next. For a moment, nothing seems to happen, then the ground starts shaking.
You hastily back up as corrupted malice emerges from the unit and swirls into the air. Blue light streaks past you from behind and collects into a formation high above your heads. You and Link back up and watch the light spawn the horrid monster of Ganon's creation. For its weapon of choice, it wields a gun with lights flashing in alarm.
Windblight Ganon lets out a deafening shriek.
"Good luck! That thing is one of Ganon's own and it plays dirty," Revali yells. "It defeated me 100 years ago... but only because I was winging it. I can't believe I'm actually saying this... But you must avenge me!"
Then, the battle began.
"His aim is dead on! Watch yourself!" Revali warns. The blight switches locations and then points its gun straight at you.
Lasers shoot straight at you with great speed. You skid on the ground to avoid being shot. Link turns from around the corner and fires a bomb arrow right into the eye of the beast.
It shrieks and switches locations again, but more low to the ground. You follow the ball of light and grip your sword, ready to attack. It swipes its hand in the air and sends a whirling twist of wind right towards you. You dodge just in time and feel the tempest's cold air graze your face.
Just before you could get a hit in, it switches directions high above the ground. "It likes to move around, huh?" you mutter under your breath and run straight for a vent. You take out your glider and ride the winds up as high as they go. You then take your bow and steady your aim with a bomb arrow right into the eye.
The arrow explodes and sends the blight falling to the ground where Link is waiting. He attacks the beast while it's down and does a great deal of damage. You jump down and join him in his attacks.
The beast bolts up with a scream and turns into blue light. It returns to the center and waves its hands in the air. Missiles shoot up from its back and spin in the air around it.
You crane your neck and watch the blight move across the sky. You run over to the control unit and use it to shield yourself from the air attacks. You motion for Link to hide with you. Both of you then use the unit as a barrier.
"It's using long ranged attacks, so our weapons will be useless unless we knock that bastard out of the air," Link shouts over the howling of the wind.
"If it's using long range attacks, so can we." You reach behind you and hand Link some more arrows. You draw your bow and aim an attack while still behind the safety of the unit. You don't even take time to learn the attack patterns.
Link follows your movements of shooting an arrow before running to switch sides. The blight takes a great deal of damage before switching locations once again.
You move sides of the unit to keep facing the blight. It hangs in the air and performs something with its hands, commanding the missiles. They fly into formation, surrounding the center leaving you no escape once fired. You swore and yell, "Link, run!"
You sprint just outside the center just as the cannons fire, reflecting the laser shot from the blight. A laser bounces from your blind spot and burns into your side.
You yell as you are knocked to the ground, the burning scorching your clothing. You get back up immediately, not letting yourself dwell on your pain.
Once the lasers stop, you take the first opportunity you see and run back in the center. The blight switches locations once again, low to the ground this time. Link follows you close behind.
You fire an arrow as Link gets closer. The blight commands the cannons to start swirling above you. Link hacks and slashes the blight. 'This thing moves fast,' you think, 'but not as fast as...'
You know what you have to do.
"Get out of the way!" you yell to Link. He does what you say without hesitation. You ready your sword and watch it glow a spirit green. You feel the handle vibrate, sending crackles of electricity surging through you. With just a small window of time left. You swing your sword with one hand and snap your fingers with the other. You yell as the power erupts from you, Urbosa by your side.
Lighting claps and crackles around you, electrocuting the blight. Link charges at the blight with the opening you gave him and knocks the last bit of life right out of Windblight Ganon.
It screams in defeat and switches places for the last time. It swarms towards the center and rives in the air, malice gushing out of the sides. It screams and shrivels into nothingness, exploding into a red light.

A New Leaf
When people mention fantasy games and RPGs, they usually think of goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves and magic (apart from the percentage that gets an image of an anti-tank weapon in their mind, I will respectfully put those individuals aside for now). But what if you get neither of those (not even the weapon, I know, sad)? And what if you end up playing as something that doesn't look like an animal at all? And what if the said game you were playing weren't actually a game, but real life changed by irresponsible, beyond-mortal beings? Follow the (mis)adventures of "player" 13241, a.k.a. Treant, as he experiences what it's like to be a walking magical fruit maker (among other things). When the world goes to hell and back, plants are the ones that remain, right?

Cursed Forest
This is a high fantasy story with horror elements, featuring the map-maker and half-elf Aspen, and his friend Sekafi, a hyena-like humanoid as they are sent on a mission to map out unknown territory and encounter a monster. Soon they're involved in something larger and more dangerous than they ever wanted. What happens next, you'll find out when you read. This is the first story I'm publishing here on RoyalRoad. I wanted to try this site out since it's more geared towards fantasy. I've been at Wattpad for about 2 years under the same name, but since I'm not writing romance I haven't gotten much steam there. This is my latest story, and it's also published on Wattpad in the book called Short Stories. I wanted to start with something new and unfinished here. I'll try and update at least once every other week, sometimes more often. ~RiisingNovels
