《The First Champion | BOTW Link x GN!Reader》Three to Go

The two orbs of yellow light fall upon the domain's entrance. You and Link appear in a flash, making you feel nausea from the magic effects.
'Mipha,' you think with your eyes glued to the ground. 'Mipha... and all the other champions. They really are dead. They're dead and trapped inside their Divine Beasts. They've been traps for 100 years, and it's... It's all my fault, isn't it?'
"(Y/N)?" Link says gently. You snap out of your trance with a gasp.
"Huh?" you respond and turn to look at him, wiping your eyes as casually as you can, pretending you're pinching the bridge of your nose from a headache.
"Are you okay?"
'No. Four friends of mine are dead because of me. In the prophecy, I was supposed to be a guide, right? I was supposed to deliver guidance and advice straight from the goddess. Obviously, I failed.'
"Yeah," you answer without eye contact. "It was just a scratch."
"No, I mean--" Link breaks off, afraid he'll say something wrong. He didn't need to speak any further as you already knew what he meant.
"Yeah n-- no, I'm-- I'm fine," you say with a wave of your hand. "Sidon's waiting for us."
You begin walking towards the throne room, leaving Link taken aback behind you. He jogs to keep up, not wanting to pry, but wanting to understand so he can help.
The king can be seen sitting on his throne with a prideful expression on his face upon seeing the two of you arrive. "Champion Link, General (Y/N), thanks to your efforts, there is no longer any danger of a great flood laying waste to Hyrule!" You hear footsteps behind you and see what seems to be the entire Zora's Domain behind you. You glance at the Zoras and the children, then turn your attention back to the King. "You appeased the Divine Beast Vah Ruta and thusly saving Zora's Domain!"
The Zoras behind you cheer together in enthusiastic volumes.
"We are all truly grateful! What you two did for us is more than we could ever have expected from you," he announces.
"Link and (Y/N), I must sincerely apologize for my harsh treatment of you," Muzu says. You look over and see him carrying Mipha's Lightscale Trident in hand. "Please accept this gift, General. I am sure Mipha would want you to have it." You take the gorgeous spear with surprisingly light weight. You hold it up and observe the jewels on the trident sway.
"Thank you," you say. "I will take good care of it." You hook the spear in place on your back with the rest of your gear to carry around. Sidon steps forward at the opportunity to talk.
"Thank you Link and (Y/N)! I knew you two had it in you!" He then grabs you and Link into a bone-crushing hug, taking your ability to breathe away. After a beat of affection and gratitude, the prince pulls away from the hug but still has a tight grip on your shoulders. He then looks startled as he looks at you.
"(Y/N)! You're wounded!" he jumps. You touch a finger to your cheek and see the crimson blood on your face, minutes away from settling into a dry seal.

"It's nothing. I'm fine," you assure him and shake your head.
"At least head to the inn!" he begs. "They should have something there to patch you up." You nod and are about to turn away when Sidon grabs your hand again with a hearty handshake. You turn around with a startled expression. "And, thank you so much for setting my sister's spirit free."
You smile and nod in response, feeling the closure help with your sorrow. He lets go of his grip and you and Link make your way past the many Zoras. The group parted to let you through with cheers of 'we're saved!' and 'thank you heroes!'.
You head down to the inn as promised and get your cut patched up. A gauze wrap stuck to your face to help seal the wound. You thank the Zora and headed to the merchant. You are running low on normal arrows and your bow is badly damaged. You ask the Zora if he could repair it, which she did happily and promptly offered you to take any arrows you liked for free.
Everyone in the domain seems forever grateful and friendly, giving you extra treatment for being their heroes. For a meal, you try to buy fish from the general store but were insisted on taking the lot free of charge. You sit by the crock pot cooking station and make seafood fried rice. The meal lifts your and Link's spirits just a little. Well, Link was thrilled at the delicious meal, and his mood improved through the roof.
As you and Link ate the food, a thought dawned on you.
"Where am I going to put the trident?" you ask Link. He just shrugs and continues to scarf down the meal.
'Helpful,' you think sarcastically.
You frown and think to yourself. You can't carry the trident everywhere in fear of it getting damaged or stolen.
"We need to tell Impa about our success at Ruta," You suggest to Link. He nods as he sets the plate down. You do so as well and stand up to stretch.
Link grabs his sword, shield, and unused Boko bow and hooks them in place on his back. You made your way to the exit of the Domain and say goodbye to the Zoras as you pass.
You and Link head out to find Impa once again. On the way, you pass a field full of grazing horses. You have seen other travelers with mounts, but taming one yourself will be difficult. You started trailing off the path toward the horses.
"Where are you going?" Link calls.
"I'm getting us a ride." You say over your shoulder. You then crouch down in the grass, slowly inching toward a horse. One beautiful bronze horse catches your eye. The mane is a nice cream color with the same tone speckles on the rump. You head for that one. As soon as you are close enough you jump up and mount the horse.
It began emitting loud neighs and whines and attempted to kick you off of its shoulders.
"Woah!" you shout and try to soothe the rage. You hold on to the horses mane with one hand and stroke its hair with the other. It begins calming down. You soothe him again and he utters a content neigh.

Another memory comes back: your skills of horseback riding. You dig your heels into his sides and pull the mane so he heads in the direction of Link.
"Nice catch," he mutters and observes your excellent horseback riding.
"Sorry," you nervously smile, "I kinda scared them off." Link looks past you and see the other horses running in a group away from the two of you.
"It's okay, I'll get one next time we spot more."
"Alright. What are you waiting for? Get on," you say. Link hops on the horse's back behind you and hesitates, not knowing how to hold on. He settles with also grabbing onto the horse's mane with his arms around you. Your eyes widen and you feel like you should've thought this through a little better.
Nevertheless, you dig your heals in the horse's side. He let out a neigh as he began to trot down the path toward Dueling Peaks, a much faster pace than walking.
~
A little while later, you come across Riverside Stable, a tall building with a wooden statue resembling a horse's head on the roof. You direct the horse to trot up to the counter. Not wanting him to run away, you grab the stable master's attention on horseback.
"Excuse me," you call. The man with a curly mustache looks up at you.
"Hello!" he greets you and talks with his hands. "Welcome to my stable. We deal in all things horse related. We also double as an inn. Huh... I haven't seen your faces before. Do you know the stable system?"
"I don't," you answer truthfully.
"Then allow me to explain," he clears his throat. "You can board your horse companions with us and then summon them as you please from our network of stables. One person can board up to five horses they find in the wild. I see you have no trouble in figuring out how to catch a horse. Do you wish to register your steed?"
"Yes, please."
"No problem!" he says. "He's a real beauty. You catch him yourself?" he asks as he reaches for some papers.
"That's correct," you say. He places a form on the counter. "Alrighty, just write what you want your horse to be named here and sign your name here. While you do that, we will have your horse all saddled up for you."
You nod and climb off of your horse with Link. You walk over to the counter and take the inked quill in hand. "Any ideas?" you ask Link. "I'm drawing a blank."
"He's your horse," Link shrugs. "You come up with this one."
You hum in thought and turn around, looking at the horse's color design while the stable master and his twin fit a saddle on the mount.
"Autumn, Victory," you list off names that come to mind, "Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Pumpkin, Spice, everything nice."
Link chuckles.
"Oh, hey," you light up at an idea, "how about Ginger?"
"Excellent choice," Link nods in agreement. You write Ginger on the line and sign your name underneath. Behind you, Ginger just finished being geared up.
"All done here!" The stable master says. "You done with the papers?"
You hum in response.
"Excellent. Well," he squints at the writing, "Ginger is all yours. You can turn him back into any stable if you don't need to ride him, and you can take him out of stables you come across. Make sure you sooth him if he isn't obedient. It will strengthen your bond between you and your mount." He puts the paper away. "Is there anything else you need?"
"No, that will be it. Thank you," you wave.
"Please come again," he calls. You hop on Ginger's new saddle and Link follows shortly after. You flick the reins on Ginger and he begins a trot, heading toward Kakariko Village.
~
You jump off of Ginger and tie him up at a post near the entrance. You walk down the path and head to Impa's House. You greet the soldiers as you walk up the stairs and open the doors.
"Impa," you start as soon as you see the elder, "we have taken back Divine Beast Vah Ruta to our control."
"I knew you could do it," Impa says without hesitation. "I have heard from Zora's Domain that your performance was nothing short of legendary. Only three other Divine Beasts remain: Divine Beast Vah Medoh of the Rito, Divine Beast Vah Rudania of the Gorons, and Divine Beast Vah Naboris of the Gerudo. All of these points are on your map. Keep up the good work. Every second is another second that Ganon is growing stronger and Zelda's power is weakening," Impa reminds you. You nod and turn to Link, who nods as well. "Is that all, my children?"
"That is all," you nod.
"Well," Impa gave you a loving smile, "best be off. Don't let me keep you from your journey."
You exit the building with Link at your side. You walk over to the spirit statue and breathe in the fresh air around you. You let out a deep sigh and put your hands together.
"Please, Goddess Hylia, please aid us in our journey." You whisper into your fingers. You open your eyes and bend down to look at your reflection in the water. You peal off the gauze bandage from your cheek, wincing slightly at the sting. You look at the reflection to show that your cut is healed. You stand up and throw away the bandage in a nearby trash bin.
You look up to see the night falling among you. You sigh and turn to Link, who is patiently waiting by the picket fence.
"We should call it a night," you say. Link nods and heads over to the inn with you right behind him. You yawn and your eyes water of tiredness. You check into the inn and tell the person to wake you in the morning.
You take off your hood , Lightscale Trident, Silver Longsword, Lizal Bow, quiver, and your leather straps. Your back aches terribly from the weight and lying down was the best feeling in the world. You close your eyes and wait for sleep to overcome you.

Dungeon Island
Reincarnated into a dungeon core beneath an island after losing my memories. I don’t yet know what happened to me, why I am here and the likes. But one day I will find out and then I will settle on my next actions. For now, I just have to take care of my little crabs. Warning: the 'Grimdark', 'Gore' and 'Traumatising content' are not there for show. They may not be fully relevant in the first chapters, but they are definitely there for a reason. Schedule: when I feel like it (usually between Wednesday and Friday night). This story is not a really serious work, I will use it to train my writing skills before going back to my other stories (Jezoi, and Vlaryne) that are currently on hold.

Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
