《Breath of Life | LoZBoTW》Daruk & Mipha's Song

They got a good nights sleep, preparing the night before so they'd be ready to leave early in the morning. They were going to set out for Death Mountain first instead, seeing as it was closest to the castle. It would take them a lot less time to get there. Then, they would hit Zora's Domain, Gerudo Town, and lastly, Rito Village.
"I wish you two luck on your journeys. This is a challenging quest, though I have no doubts you two will conquer it easily. Please, just return to me." Zelda pulled both of them into her arms. They, of course, hugged her back. The headed out with their horses, but abandoned them in a stable before it got too hot for them. Emery was excited to be heading back to this place for the first time in a while after everything they've done. She was curious as to how they would all treat them or greet them. Like she expected, they were all excited and yelled to everyone that they were there. Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and came out to see them. Gorons were the most odd people she would ever meet, but they were all so goofy. She loved them, she loved all the people of Hyrule. Except the Yiga. She could do without them.
"Emery, Link! What brings you guys here?" Yunobo ran up to them excitedly, shaking the ground beneath him. He was wearing the sash he was awarded with. She didn't know how it didn't immediately set aflame in these temperatures. Thankfully, they had their potions and protective armor.
"We're here on official business, chosen hero stuff." Emery shrugged. Link looked over to her, noticing she was talking about it the way he did before. So normally, without noticing how others might take it. While she meant it genuinely, Yunobo could've taken it rudely. Of course he didn't since he was just Yunobo, but still. He didn't think anything about it being rude, he just thought it was incredible to see how much she'd grown.
"Oh, awesome!" He clapped his big hands together. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"There is. Can you take us here?" Link pointed to the map on the Sheikah Slate. Yunobo examined it before nodding. He led them down over a hill and across some lava. There, they found the structure. Kass was singing with his accordion. They asked to listen to Champion Daruk's song. It was beautiful, but full of riddles. The structure had images they had to find on the map and go to, to do the trials of riddle. They weren't too hard to figure out once you saw what you were faced with. After they solved all the riddles and completed the shrines, they took the spirit orbs and returned to the Divine Beast, Rudania. There, they were sent within the figment of a memory and ordered to fight off Fireblight Ganon with only Daruk's resources. They succeeded in the end, but it was a challenging battle. They knew the form of Ganon's battle patterns from before, though, so they were able to complete the task more effectively. After that, they spoke to Kass afterwards, who was right next to them when they came back.

"Ah, so we've been taken to the same place, but on different pretenses? Hearing anecdotes about Champion Daruk has truly invigorated me, inspiring me to make my own song in dedication to him separate from my teacher's unfinished song. Would you like to hear?" They listened to his song, which told them about the story of when Zelda originally came to ask Daruk for his help. He fought off a horde of monsters incredibly, but was terrified of a little dog. It made Emery laugh, then Link too. Then, Daruk spoke to them.
"Hey, I knew you guys could do it! I'm happy for you two, by the way! Glad to finally see my best bud joyful. Tell the princess- Queen I said hi!" He said. They chuckled again, and then went on their way to Zora's Domain. It took them the other half of the day to get there, to which everyone started greeting them once they'd made it up the path. Sidon rushed down the steps from where his father resided, flashing them that huge, pointed-tooth smile.
"Lady Emery! It's been so long! Though, I understand. You're a Champion now, an appointed knight, I'm sure you're busy." He gave her a polite smile. She nodded.
"I am. It's nice to see you, though. And how is King Dorephan?" She asked. He nodded.
"Good, very good. We'll all doing well here." He said quickly.
"And have you explored Ruta any? Checked out her controls?" She continued. He nodded again.
"I have. Very interesting machine, I can't believe I'm the one in charge of it. You better hope Calamity Ganon never comes back, because I'm not sure I'll ever get the hang of it." He chuckled. Link was silent as he stood next to Emery. He never said much in the first place, but especially not to Sidon. He didn't know what to say now after he'd been so rude. He knew he had nothing to worry about with Emery, but he still got a little jealous. He knew he was selfish for wanting all of her attention, for wanting to be the only one who makes her smile like that. Realistically, he just felt like he was being Hylian for wanting that. Isn't that want any significant other wants?
"Well, we better get to sleep. We have to get up early tomorrow." Emery said, beginning to walk past him. He hurried in front of her to stop them again.
"Oh, you can stay in the royal quarters! What are you two doing here, anyways? Is there something I can help with?" He was so excited, bursting with energy. Normally, Emery would find it contagious, but she was too tired right now to find it in her.

"Thank you, that's kind of you, Sidon. Do you care if I explain in the morning? We're exhausted." She yawned, her eyes getting glossy it was so intense.
"Oh, of course. I'm sorry to bother. Let me lead you to the room." He said, and they followed after him. It was a nice room, fit perfectly for the two heroes. Emery loved the domain at night, the blue was already pretty in the daytime, but with the Luminous Stone at night, it was the loveliest thing she'd ever seen. Naturally, blue was her favorite color, so she loved it.
After changing out of her clothes and taking a quick shower, Emery climbed into bed next to Link. She didn't understand why he didn't also take a shower, but she would say anything. To each their own. She had started doing her hair a new way, introduced to her by Zelda. She had to have it up and out of her face, but she still wanted it to look cute and nice. Zelda braided a crown around the top of her head, with short pieces framing her face. Her hair was tied into a tight pony tail in the back of her head that was straight as can be. She didn't really curl it anymore, she didn't like it that way. Link liked it, but he'd like anything she did.
They woke up the next morning, instantly getting ready to head out after scoffing down the breakfast the cooks had brought them. It was mostly fish- oddly enough- but they didn't mind it. Eggs and fish for breakfast. Emery made sure to brush her teeth afterwards. Of course, Sidon found them before they could get anywhere. Emery already knew where they were going though, so they didn't really need his help like they did Yunobo's.
"So, m'lady, how can I be of assistance?" He asked, grabbing her hand. She quickly pulled hers out of his grip, and he attempted to ignore it to avoid awkwardness. Emery didn't want to upset Link, but she didn't want to upset Sidon either. It wasn't his fault he didn't know about them, and how incredibly awkward would it be to make it known right then and there.
"I don't think we need any help, but thank you for the kindness. I appreciate it." She smiled politely at him. He just nodded and scratched back of his neck nervously.
"Can I ask what it is you two are doing here?"
"Chosen hero stuff. Trials." She answered.
"Like those Shrine things?" He asked. She nodded. "Oh, then I guess I wouldn't be much help then. Still, I'd like to do everything I can. If there's something, let me know."
"Of course." She nodded. Link gave him a small smile before they headed off in the direction they needed to go. He watched them, and noticed Link put his arm around her waist. That's what was happening. He always knew they'd be together, still, you couldn't blame a guy for trying before.
The situation with Ruta was the same, they listened to Kass's song, figured out the riddles once they found the locations, completed all the tasks and Shrines, then showed up to Ruta with the emblems in hand. There, they went into Mipha's memories with all her resources. They fought Waterblight Ganon, and of course came out successful. There was nothing that could phase them anymore. They were practically unstoppable together, and when they were in good spirits. That was basically all the time now. When they came back, they listened to Kass's other song and heard the story of Mipha. She was with baby Sidon, who she was teaching how to swim up waterfalls. She was graceful and magnificent. Zelda asked her to do so, and she gladly agreed, like all of them did. They were selfless and incredible. In each of the memories, Zelda spoke about Link but in a not-so-fond way. She wasn't for a while, Emery knew that. It wasn't debatable how she came to fall in love with him. He was gorgeous and silent, and an incredible hero. What wasn't attractive about him?
After the trials were over, they began to make their way to Gerudo Town before baring their goodbyes to the king and prince. This would be an even longer journey, as they opted to go through Faron Woods on their way to pick up some Hearty Durians. They were the most delicious fruit, and the most healing. That was their favorite, as warriors. It was the best fruit and food ever created.
By that time it was dark, so they stayed at an inn that was at the end of the forest. Faron wasn't her favorite province, but it she didn't hate any of them. The cold wasn't her favorite, she liked warmth, so she wasn't big on the Hebra province either. Nonetheless, she was just happy to be in the world and be a part of Goddess Hylia's design, to be here with Link.

The Trials of Bethany
Bethany, is a young girl who didn't expect anything more from her life than to spend her time churning butter and trying to ignore the abuse of her fellow village members. In any other world this would be a reasonable expectation for a person in the middle ages. But Bethany was lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it. Because her world was about to get a whole lot bigger, and a whole lot scarier. The Trials of Bethany, is a Gamelit story of a system arriving on earth in the middle ages with the characters being teleported away regularly to face trials to earn their skill levels. As such there won't be a flood of skills however there will be constant progression and other hidden treats. The story will be evolving as it's written and as always aspects of the story/world are prone to change. This is my first serious attempt at writing and my first time publishing anywhere so all constructive criticism is welcome. Currently uploading Tuesday & Friday with occasional bonus chapters.
