《Breath of Life | LoZBoTW》Overpowering Love

That night, the house was silent. No one dared say a word. Link didn't argue when Emery took the couch, leaving him the bed. He knew it wouldn't do him any good anyways. Neither of them slept hardly at all, and Zelda was racking her brain with ways to fix this. It was so stupid how they couldn't tell their love for each other, but then she had to remember not everyone is as full of wisdom as she. Still, she felt like it was pretty obvious.
The next day, they headed to Gerudo Town. It was a long, quiet, and awkward travel. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary for Link to not say anything, but Zelda knew it wasn't only because he wanted to silently bare his burdens like a good hero. He felt so terrible about himself that he found no means to speak. He felt there was no point in talking because he didn't have a place after the terrible things he'd said. If he opened his mouth again, it wouldn't be any good because so far- he's only caused a great devastation upon the girl he loves.
When they arrived, Link stayed beyond the walls of Gerudo Town, and Emery traveled inside with Zelda. People were waving and freaking out at the sights of Princess Zelda. It was nearly impossible how she was alive, but she was. Still with the looks of an eighteen year old. Emery wondered why she couldn't be that beautiful. "Princess Zelda, how great it is that we finally meet."
Emery watched as Zelda knelt down before her throne. "It is with great sorrows that I come before you. I wish it was with your ancestor, Urbosa, but I can assure you she's at peace now. She was very courageous, going at great lengths to protect the kingdom of Hyrule and the world. I feel honored to have been within her very presence."
"Princess, you mustn't do this. Please, stand up. We know it was beyond your control. You did everything you could, and even defeated Calamity Ganon. You can't apologize for what the evil did." Riju declared as Zelda stood. She gave her a small smile.
"Thank you, Chief Riju." She nodded.
"I must ask, what is it you plan to do now?" The Chief asked.
"I came here with the intentions to give you closure, and to ask if you would join us as a Champion and pilot the Divine Beast Vah Naboris?" Zelda asked, a twinkle in her eye that you just couldn't say no to.
"How could I, the Chief of Gerudo Town, say no? It is something I must to do, for my duty to protect the people and to prove my responsibility with the task of being the Chief." She leaned her head against her hand as she kicked her feet back and forth slowly.

"I wouldn't make you do anything you don't want. Piloting the Divine Beast is a demanding task, as you know. Urbosa lost her life to it, along with the other Champions. Are you sure you want to agree to the job?" Zelda inquired. Chief Riju nodded.
"Of course, it is what I must do. Protecting the people of world is my only duty and that is the only way I can possibly fulfill it." She hopped down from her throne, taking Princess Zelda's hand. "We thank you for everything you've done, princess."
"And we thank you. Urbosa would be more than proud to know that you're following in her footsteps, despite everything that could happen to you." Zelda smiled. You could tell those words meant a lot to Riju. Zelda always knew what to say.
Emery followed Zelda as she stepped out of the throne room. She was walking slowly, and then she stopped altogether. She turned towards Emery. "Do you think we could stay here longer, just you and I?"
How could Emery say no to such a hopeful and pleading face? Even if she wanted to say no more than anything... "Uh, sure, princess."
"Please, call me Zelda. I hate when people call me princess." She replied, joining Emery at her side. They walked slowly together.
"How come?" Emery found herself asking.
"I feel I don't deserve such an official title. You must know how I feel." She looked over at Emery. She nodded back. "You have earned the title, though. You dropped everything upon Link and joined him once you knew you had a way to defeat Ganon. You put your life in danger multiple times. You killed yourself for Link."
"You're the one who went back to the castle by yourself to fend off Ganon, unaware of when or if Link would ever return." Emery argued back.
"But just with a little golden light I did nothing to learn how to use." She sighed.
"You spent forever trying to find the means to unleash it, didn't you? When you finally did, that was something." Emery assured her. Zelda looked over and gave her a small smile.
"I suppose you're right. Maybe I should take the advice I give you and use it myself. It seems we're quite similar, you know?" Zelda pulled her off to a secluded restaurant. They sat down at a seat, and waited on the food they requested.
"How did you finally get the power?" Emery asked. Zelda looked up at her from her lap. She gave her that signature small smile she wears all the time, but it faded. Emery wondered what story she was in for now.
"Link and I were running from the guardians that turned against us. I was being completely and utterly careless, not caring whether I run or not. The evil around us was closing in, yet I knowingly put Link in danger. He always did his best at protecting me and I knew he'd never leave me behind to save himself, yet I kept stopping. Putting us both in more and more danger." She spoke sadly. Emery could tell the story was taking a toll on her. "Finally, we came to a clearing out of Hyrule Field forest. The rampant guardians were all around us. We didn't know how to fight their power, we never thought we'd need to know how. One came right up to us, aiming it's red beam. There was no way we could run now. They were all around us." She stopped for a minute. Emery thought she knew where this story was going. Zelda cleared her throat and continued. "Link, despite being on the verge of death, raised his sword at the thing, hardly being able to hold it up. He pushed me behind him as he wobbled around, not even able to stand on his own. I yelled for him to stop, and to go save himself. He wouldn't do it. I couldn't stand the thought of him dying, so I pushed him back and I raised my hand at it."

Emery watched as she looked at her hand, the Triforce sitting mightily upon it.
"My powers completely obliterated the force. I had no idea where it came from, and so I was shocked for a moment. When I turned to ask Link if he saw it too, he was laying on the ground. I rushed over to him and raised him in my arms. He wasn't breathing, but the sword was still responding to it's Master. A couple of the Sheikah Tribe came over to me. From there, I directed them to put Link in the Shrine of Resurrection. I took the sword of the Goddess' and put it back in it's rightful place to await it's Master. I told Impa to watch for you, as there were a few of the Royal Guard Hylians who survived the arise of Calamity Ganon. A boy and a girl. They went on to have a daughter, and she met a boy and had a daughter. They both joined the fight against Calamity Ganon but failed and met their demise. But they had you, and left you with Impa knowing she knew what to do. We were expecting you, and when you finally came and showed interests in archery and fighting, we knew you were the one we'd all been waiting for."
Emery nodded along and listened to her speak. They hardly ate their food as they sat there and talked amongst each other. Emery had many questions, and she figured she'd start at the beginning. "Why do you think your powers came to you when they did?"
Zelda let out a small sigh. She didn't know if she wanted to tell Emery this or not, but she would anyways. She didn't have such a bad feeling about it. Although, she felt she just made a friend of Emery and she didn't want to lose her to this. She was so thankful for her, to have someone to talk to that actually spoke back or understood how she was feeling. She inhaled deeply before speaking. "I was in love with Link then. I wanted more than anything to protect him, so I guess that's why my powers came to me when they did."
Emery sat in silence for a moment, looking down at her hand that gripped the table. Of course, Zelda was in love with him. It hurt more than anything to finally hear her say that. The thought of them being together made her sick, and brought tears to her eyes. She blinked them away quickly, then looked back up at Zelda. She had a panicked look on her face. "Well, I guess that explains how fitting it is that he loves you too."
"What?" Zelda's eyes widened. She knew that wasn't true, but... "How can you think that?"
"Have you ever seen yourself, princess? You're a Goddess, quite literally. How could he not be in love with you?" Emery sighed.
"Because he doesn't care about all that, he cares about what's on the inside. His interest isn't in power, it's in courage and battle. That's who fits his interest." Zelda hinted, doing her best not to give away what Link trusted her with.
"Well, you have true courage." Emery stated, and Zelda let out a sigh. "So, do you know about my parents?"
"I do." Zelda nodded.
"Can you tell me about them..?" Emery asked hesitatingly. Zelda gave her a smile and nodded.
"Your mother's name was Ella and your father, Harriet. They were powerful warriors, just like you. Just not quite as powerful as you. This was what you were meant for, and the Triforce gives you ultimate power in battle and in life. Though, it's only at full power when you and Link are together and when you're both getting along well with each other. You each have to be one." Zelda explained. Emery nodded. "Well, I think we've kept Link waiting for long enough. We'll continue talking tomorrow, yeah?"
"Sure." Emery muttered and stood from her seat. Zelda generously paid for the food, and they left the town. When they exited, they saw Link talking to Epona. When he realized they came out, he stopped abruptly and climbed on her. They followed suit, and headed home before night fell. Zelda and Emery had spent a long time in the town, and he wondered what had happened. Still, he wouldn't say anything. It wasn't his business.

Chronicles Of The Storylord: 12th Chronicle - Origin
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am the 12th soul, but I am not as those others are, for I am merely a shard. My purpose: begin the Tale anew. For I am the Storylord, and I am the Tale. The Tale is all, and all is the Tale, yet the Tale is myself, for I am all in my domain. This is my story, the saga of many, the legend… of the Tale. Just remember this: “This world is but a story, and all the stories are true...” This story is in the same general multiverse as RE: Deity by lightningwarrior21, but will be almost completely separate except in a few chapters. I have permission from him to use his base multiverse, and you should go check out his fiction, it’s really good. http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9597 This ‘fiction’ will be updated sporadically, so don’t expect much of a steady stream of chapters. (I’ll try to do one chapter a week, but no promises.) Suggestions on how to improve this universe helps with the management, so comments are welcome, as are Grammar Nazis. I’ve had this fiction mostly as scattered notes in my google drive, and only recently had enough time to actually put it together, like I promised lightning back in January. (Writer’s block and schoolwork do not mix well.) The cover is not owned by me, I found the image on google images. Anyway, I’ll be back yesterday… or was that tomorrow? (I really need to get that damn causality generator fixed, me-damnit!) See ya!

Genesis
Taryn is a mutant in a world where mutants are considered no more than monsters in human skin. The descendants of the gods rule as mortal Kings and the entire world waits for their fates to be decided in the prophesied battle between the Last Lothor King and the mutants’ Dark Prince. But Taryn believes this is all fantasy, born from legends and myth. There are no gods; only mutants who don’t know how to use their abilities, and middlings who are too afraid to even think that they should learn. Taryn is determined to change that. Her plan is a simple one: win the King to her cause and the faiths of the masses will compel them to follow. It should have been an easy enough task; the King doesn’t seem to believe in the prophecies any more than she does. But soon the ambitions of a criminal empire, the plots of warmongering officials and the looming threat of a violent faith movement begin to erode their fragile relationship and derail her plans. Can the two of them reconcile in time to prevent a civil war or will their inability to work together bring about the very thing they’ve fought so hard to avoid?

Wandering Dungeon
Garrett finds himself reborn as a small crystal, a dungeon core. Why does he exist? How did he get here? His dungeon guide will have to work extra hard to make him a great dungeon, but how is Garrett suppose to become a great dungeon if he can't even create monsters? This story might sound like a standard dungeon core story and might be a little slow or awkwardly paced sometimes, (This is my first story that I'm seriously writing) but I promise it is a dungeon story unlike any others. Any and all comments and reviews are welcome. They will help me learn and become a better writer so I can provide a better and more well written story for you and others to enjoy.
