Emery sat there in shock, staring at him. He was lying, right? She couldn't have actually died. Otherwise, she wouldn't be here now. Right? "How am I alive, then?"

"Mipha brought you back." He replied. It seemed she wasn't taking the news that well. He didn't know what to do, but maybe knowing that she wouldn't put herself in so much danger again.

"How long has it been?" She asked him.

"A couple of days." He replied.

"Then how..." She trailed off, not being able to find the words. What happened to her was astounding, and Link didn't quite have an answer for it either. He watched as she went to move the covers from her leg, but something else caught his eyes.

"When did this get on your hand?" He quickly asked, grabbing her hand. They started to glow together, and they pulled away.

"What was that?" She whispered as she started at him. This was bizarre, as this had never happened before. He took her hand once more, noticing that he had the Triforce on his hand, too.

"It seems we both have a half of the Triforce of courage." He replied.

"Well, what does that mean?" She asked. They were both in awe at what had happened. Why did it only just appear?

"It means, you're just as crucial to this battle as I am. I told you, you were meant for this. You're a Champion too." He grinned at her.

She returned an equally as bright smile, and pulled him into a tight hug. He wasn't complaining when she did so, but she quickly let go. She came to the realization she was overly exposed for Link's eyes, but she was starting to care less. She was more than comfortable around him, but still just self conscious. She climbed out of the bed, wobbling slightly. He placed his hand on her lower back to help her up, then assisted her with putting her armor on. Until she regained her balance. She was back to normal, just like that, and Link was more than thankful. They opted to go back to the house, to plot out the rest of their plans before going to Ganon.

On the ride to Hateno Village, Link was- like always- deep in thought. The Triforce glowed when their hands were together. He recalled himself holding the same hand just before she suddenly awoke. Had the Triforce saved her? The Goddess'? He always knew all along that she was just as important in this battle, and he was right. Was she the reason they hadn't succeeded before? She couldn't be, only then they underestimated Ganon's power. There was no way it was because of her.

Still, the whole thing baffled him. If she was truly meant to be a part of this whole thing, why was she only born after the awakening of Calamity Ganon? Now he knew this whole thing was exactly the way it should be. Even if Zelda had been locked away for a hundred years, the Champions and people of Castle Town lost their lives- including Link. This was all meant to happen this way, it was evident seeing as Emery was born only after Calamity Ganon arose. He was feeling more and more confident in the battle that was coming up. He felt more than ready, but there was one thing missing. The Master Sword.

How was he meant to find it? He had no recollection of it, let alone where it would be. Either way, he was going to have to find it. There was no way he could defeat Ganon without it. Just as Emery had said, it was the sword that sealed the darkness.

He and Emery went to Impa that night after figuring out what they must do. Also, after she insisted Link must rest for a while. He hadn't gotten any since that day, and that was a while. He would only be on his best game if he was well rested, so he listened to her. Now, it was all beginning to feel much closer. Everything was falling into place. All the Divine Beasts, Emery and Link, and now the Master Sword.

"Link, Emery. I'm glad to see the two of you are okay." She spoke. Link nodded.

"Where can I find the Master Sword, Impa?" Link asked. She smiled slightly at the mention.

"Ah, you don't recall where it sleeps when not in use by it's master?" She questioned. He shook his head no. "I can't tell you where, but I'll give you a helpful hint. If you venture through the Lost Woods, you may find it. That's all I will say, Master Link."

Link nodded, and they headed out. They grabbed Epona and were on their way. According to Link's Sheikah Slate, the Lost Woods were located just beyond Hyrule Castle, where the Great Hyrule Forest is. "That must be where the sword is."

They set out on a long journey and made it there by nightfall, but not before being warned by the people at the local stable. A mysterious and scary forest lied ahead of them, but they weren't frightened at all.

They left Epona outside the forest, just to keep her out of harms way. There was no way of telling what threats lied beyond. As they entered, they saw a low light coming from inside. Once they got closer, they realized it was a flame. "Do you remember what the locals said?"

"I didn't pay much attention." Link admitted with a slight grin. Emery stared at him with annoyance. "I just figured they didn't know what they were talking about."

"Have you learned by now that the locals are obsessed with your story? They're filled with all types of lore that they don't believe, but is actually true and useful to us." She lectured him.

"Sorry, I'll listen closer next time." He groaned, but gave her a playful smile. Something had him in an obviously joyful mood, and she had no idea what. "So, what did they say then?"

"The wind would point you in the direction. Look at the direction of the flame. It's pointing to the next one." She explained. He nodded, and they followed the dimly lit path until they met an end. Link picked up the provided torch and lit it. Now it was up to them to determine which way the flame was pointing.

The forest was dark and eerie. The chill of the mysterious wind sent chills down Emery's spine. It being dark didn't help in the least bit. She followed Link along, nonetheless. Until someone or something quietly and sneakily grabbed her from behind a tree. It was too dark to see them, but something told her she might know who it is.

Link continued to follow the trail. After a while, he realized he had no longer been hearing Emery's footsteps behind him. He jerked around to see no one. His eyes widened with fear, and all the possibilities of something tragic ran through his mind. He calmed himself down for the moment, and knew he had to set out to find her. There was no use in calling out her name, he had no idea how long they'd been separated. Besides, yelling out could be dangerous for the both of them.

He opted to retrace his path, looking for some way she could've possibly went. He didn't know whether or not she had strayed off on her own, or if someone had taken her. He figured she wasn't stupid enough to go it alone, without a light, but he never knew about her. She could've saw something that caught her eye, or even saw what she thought was the way out.

He stumbled across a parting of trees that seemed to lead a pathway. He had a light, and he knew he had to make sure this way was clear before he even thought about checking somewhere else. It looked like a pretty clear trail, so she had to be this way. At least, that was his logic anyways.

As he continued to walk down the path, he felt like someone was around. He pulled out his royal sword and kept it at his side. The rest of the way was smooth sailing, until he came to a clearing. He glanced around, seeing places that needed to be lit with his flame. He did so, and the next path was clear to him. He followed it for not too long, and then he saw evident signs of the Yiga Clan.

The trees had their signature weapons stuck in them, along with arrows. He still kept his sword by his side. He knew they were all pretty much idiotic enough that Emery shouldn't be in too much harms way- but then again he was sure they were upset after they killed off their leader. He tried to block all the thoughts of terrible things they could've done to her with those unique and sharp weapons, but to no prevail. It only made his steps more hurried as he followed what seemed like the never-ending trail.

He stepped into another clearing, but this one was already lit up. He got into a fighting stance as one of the members revealed himself. "Link! The Hero! How lovely to see you!"

"Do I know you?" Link replied. That only made his situation worse. He knew he should watch his tongue, but he couldn't control his anger knowing these knuckle heads took Emery. Doing God knows what to her.

"You'll be wishing you hadn't." He pulled out a long, sharp sword. Link, of course, wasn't scared. The Triforce of courage was always evident in he and Emery. It was only more proof they were both certain hero's who put others lives before theirs without a second thought.

Link instantly went at him, throwing his sword every which way in a precise manor. His attacks were intricate but perfected. He felt like a better warrior every day, and he was thankful he was finally starting to feel hopeful in himself. Still, it would be easier if he had Emery's help. He knew he could take him on his own, though. Soon enough, he took out the member and checked his surroundings.

Where was he to go next? Were more members going to come out? He looked around, and a tree with their symbol was carved into it, along with one of their sickles. He opted to go that way, and he came across a couple more members. This time, they had Emery bound at the wrists behind her back. They held onto her tightly, and it instantly angered Link.

"Let go of her." He demanded, and even Emery hadn't seen that look in his eye before. She wondered how the cowardice members weren't already ran off.

"Or you'll do what, hero? You won't do anything if it risks hurting her, will you?" The member spoke in a snotty voice. He snickered, and the rest joined in with him.

"We'll kill you both!" The other yelled crazily. He then cleared his throat. "But before-"

Link and Emery zoned out as they looked at each other. They were paying no attention to her, so if she went at them first then Link could go at them after. No one would get hurt but them, that way. She had to find a way to communicate her plan.

Link, on the other hand, was thinking something completely different. There was no way he wasn't saving Emery from them, and there was no way they were getting out of here without a fight. He watched closely as they paid less and less attention to what they were doing. Talking about meaningless nonsense. Link quickly attacked the one talking, making one dash off in the other direction, and the other who had his hands on Emery place one of their vicious and sharp sickles to her neck. Link instantly stopped, seeing his plan wasn't all that successful.

Emery could feel the sharp, cold blade on her neck. If she died, what did that mean for Link? What about the Triforce of courage they now shared? She let a shaky breath escape her lips. Link stood back, glaring angrily at the member. He snickered.

"What will you do now, hero?" He laughed loudly. "Your love is bound by me. Her life is on the verge, there's nothing you can do!"

Emery's eyes widened. Love? What did he mean? She wanted to hide away at that word. Maybe Link didn't catch it, he seemed to angered to be bothered. He stepped closer, and pressed the blade harder to her neck. Her breath was caught in her throat as she let out a small whimper. She felt something trickle down her neck. It wasn't bad, as she couldn't feel a direct amount of pain.

"Don't step any closer, boy! She's already bleeding!" He said, continuing to laugh maniacally at Link's desperate attempts to save her.

"What are you going to do, then? Stand here until the end of time? What is it you want?" He asked.

"Your life, obviously! I must avenge my fallen King!" The member spoke over-dramatically.

"Take it, if it's my life you want." He replied, placing his sword onto his back.

"Oh, joy! I get to kill the both of you." He grinned. Once he was too distracted by his own evil tendencies, Emery brought her foot out and kicked him forcefully to the ground, causing her to fall over. Link instantly brought out his sword, and ended the last members life. She sat up, but with her hands not being of use to her, she couldn't get up. Link put his sword away once more, and knelt down next to her. He used a small knife to cut the tight ropes around her wrists. It felt good to have them off.

When he looked at her, her head was bowed down to the ground. She wouldn't look at him. With no words- like usual for him- he placed his fingers gently under her chin, and directed her eyes to his. He frowned as tears fell down her face. He brought a cloth from his pocket and wiped the blood from the small cut on the side of her neck. He knew she must've been scared, but what he didn't know was she wasn't scared for her life. She was scared of not being with him.

"They took all my weapons, everything. I don't know what they did with them." She managed out. He wiped her tears away, quietly cooing to her to get her to calm down. She stopped crying quickly, but she didn't know what to do with herself.

"We'll find them." He reassured her. He stood up and put his hand out for her to take. She grabbed it and he strongly lifted her to her feet. He put his hand on her lower back after lighting a torch. He lead her around the forest where they found her stuff lying around. She gladly took it all back. From there, they finally made it to a clearing. The sun was rising, and the night was over.

They gladly walked into the welcoming forests with Koroks at every corner. Then, both of their eyes met the pedestal, the rightful resting place. One ray of light shined brightly upon the Master Sword, where it stood in all it's glory. Ready to be pulled by it's master.
