In the shower with Niklaus Mikaelson
ran from Niklaus' hairline down the side of his forehead, tracing his prominent left cheekbone and trailed to his cupid's bow where it lingered for a bit before finally falling to the porcelain shower floor. The scalding hot water cascaded down on the almost six foot man as he bowed his head trying to tame his thoughts. Dressed in glistening water, his tanned back muscles were tense as scenario after scenario raced through his mind and beneath his golden blonde hair matted on to his forehead.
Niklaus needed to get his family back from Stefan Salvatore but he also needed a witch to delve deeper into his situation with his mate, Evangeline Salvatore. How could he be expected to spend the rest of eternity with a woman who infuriated him to the extent of killing her out of frustration? There indeed was a part of him that was attached to the hybrid female but even Niklaus himself was well aware that if they continued arguing and fighting the way they were known to, it would do more harm than good for them.
While Niklaus was used to rarely being argued with and his word always being final, Evangeline was one to challenge anyone she didn't agree with and did not back down unless she was literally forced to. The Salvatore female did not seem to fear him at all and though it should have infuriated the Mikaelson, it made him respect her for being fearless, which was also most likely had something to do with their bond. What actually frustrated Niklaus is the fact that the two always seemed to be on different sides. With her brothers being the two vampires he despised the most, the two would most likely be constantly clashing and with both of their tempers thing would almost always end violently.
He felt a slight throbbing in the nail marks Evangeline left in his chest as he finally cut off the water and slid open the glass door now dressed in perspiration. On top of the nail marks in his chest, he also has third degree burns in the shape of small handprints where his mate had pushed him away and his hands were raw from the solar temperature of her neck as from strangling her. The pain was more of a dull ache by then but he needed the scarring to go away before anyone saw. Niklaus would not heal from any pain she inflicted on him unless she took it back and she would not wake from her death until he took it back or gave her his blood.
Currently, his gorgeous goddess of a mate was lying on the bed with a bruised neck in the midst of transitioning. Niklaus observed her state as he entered the room with a towel wrapped around his waist. Her light brown curls wore a scarlet tint, he'd noticed, whenever she transitioned. The hybrid could still remember the vibrant fire in her eyes as she yelled in his as if she had as much strength and age as he did and if he were being honest, Niklaus would say that his own rage was rubbing off on her. Her pinnas had become tipped in almost an elflike manner, but what caught Niklaus' attention were her ivory fangs peeking from between her succulent pink lips.
The Original hybrid had noticed that her fangs were saber like, sharper and seemingly more lethal than any other supernatural creature he'd been met with. As sadistic as it may seem, something got the Original off at the thought of her burying the weapons into his skin. The first time Niklaus laid eyes on them his inner wolf howled in desire. In the past, he was sure that pleasure from blood exchange was a myth but after the shiver he could get merely from the thought of that intimate moment with Evangeline, his mind found a grey area on the matter.

Evangeline made him seek an animalistic pleasure when she got his wolf riled up without even trying. Niklaus never actually wanted to best her with words but through physical contact most of the time. Most times when he pushed her against the wall he wanted to claim her lips, silencing her with pleasure instead of pain but he knew they weren't ready for that. His hybrid mate was an over thinker therefore when the deed was done, she would never let herself forget that she let her guard down for Niklaus and most likely go over every reason she was wrong for it no matter how much pleasure he brought her. That little fact frustrated the Original hybrid to no end.
The selfish side of Niklaus wanted Evangeline to forget about her brothers and just be his for once and for all without kicking and screaming the entire way there. Yet, Niklaus knew that he would never give up his family for anyone, not even his prophesized mate.
Growling under his breath, Niklaus dropped his towel and threw on his undergarments before climbing into his bed beside the unconscious female hybrid. He'd had a long day with the Salvatore brothers and the doppelganger. He now had Rebekah back but he could not wake her because she would have a white hot rage towards him for lying about who killed their mother. Also, he still had to figure out what to do with his mate. He wanted to wake her but he knew she would not agree with his conditions of her staying there as leverage against her brothers. He could have the place charmed by the morning to keep her there but that did not mean she wouldn't try to escape or pester and argue with him until the anger got the best of both of them. Every inch of him was begging to hear a breath from her because of the bond but he could not wake her just yet.
He wished he could come to her in her dreams at least, to have the feeling of her presence again but since she was technically dead, she wasn't dreaming. Therefore, Niklaus stared at the ceiling in thought until the next morning when he received a knock at his door.
Quickly throwing on a black hoodie and jeans, the hybrid opened the door to see one of his female hybrids.
"Mariah" He murmured glumly at the red head standing before him.
She responded back monotonously, "The witch is here"
Niklaus took a glance back to the woman perceived to be sleeping in his bed before nodding and following the hybrid to the living room of his home.
In the shower with Damon Salvatore
Many thoughts raced through the head of the eldest Salvatore as he rinsed off his soap with a detachable shower head, soaking everything but his raven black hair. With Stefan continuously falling off of the rocker, the most recent news of Klaus holding his somehow alive sister hostage, and his kiss with Elena, Damon was surprised at his lack of grey hair. It felt like he was the one responsible for keeping everything together when just months ago, he was the one known for recklessness. The rebellion and deviousness was his job and Stefan was the responsible one while Evan was a mix of both.
Damon missed his sister greatly, he had barely spent any time with her before she was whisked away by none other than Klaus only to be killed by him and when a miracle happens and she is brought back, the same bastard keeps him away from her. The thought of Klaus's hands being on his little sister made him grit his teeth to keep back from yelling in anger. She didn't deserve to be stuck in the middle of a problem that was not hers to deal with. All that Evan had wanted to do when she returned to Mystic Falls was to be reunited with her brothers but the only thing that happened was everything fell apart.

The black haired Salvatore let out a large sigh before turning off the water and grabbing a towel. He had to go meet with Stefan at the place where the coffins were being cloaked by dead witches and even better, he had to let Stefan in on Klaus's new hostage. As much as Stefan pretended not to care about anything, Damon knew one thing, he loved his siblings. It was proven when the youngest Salvatore admitted he only spared Klaus's life because he would've made sure Damon was killed and Evan never came back. What Klaus had to do with Evan's resurrection, Damon had no idea, but he sure as hell was going to find out.
Once Damon reached the old house, he didn't spot his brother so he went in on his own but felt a suspicious presence. Mid-step to the lower level where the coffins were, he spotted Bonnie but put a finger to his lips before turning and going towards the suspicion. He found a hybrid standing in front of his brother, ready to attack. Before it noticed his presence, he ripped the mans heart out from his back and made eye contact with his brother.
"Those hybrids, really bringing the neighborhood down" Was his sarcastic comment of his day but Stefan looked unamused as he dropped the heart on the dead body of the hybrid.
"Just bury the body" Stefan instructed about to pass his brother by.
Damon frowned, "Why don't you? My hands are already dirty enough" He said, making a gesture towards his blood covered right hand.
Stefan rolled his eyes, "Finish what you started"
"Yeah whatever, but there's something I need to tell you" Damon remembered he needed to break the news of Evangeline's resurrection and being held hostage.
"What?"
"Evan's alive—"As soon as the words left his mouth, Stefan's humanity made an appearance like a reflex.
"Th-that's impossible...she couldn't be dead for a week and then magically come alive...where is she?" Stefan rambled on forgetting all about the coffins he was about to watch over.
Family meant everything to him, just as much as it did to Klaus.
Damon sighed, "I didn't finish, Evan's alive but Klaus is holding her hostage, you know kind of like a 'you take my family, I take yours' sort of thing"
Anger washed over the youngest Salvatore male and he grunted in frustration, "You're kidding me! How did he even get to her body in the first place?!"
Damon's jaw dropped when he realized his brother was blaming him, "Don't blame me! Last I checked she was in the cellar but when I went to check on her after Klaus made the comment of having her, she was gone! I don't know how the hell he got her or how she's alive but it is not my fault! I didn't steal his family and make him want to get even!"
"At least I'm doing something!" Stefan yelled back, pushing his brother, "All you were doing was cowering in fear of his presence like a little bitch!"
The comment pissed Damon off causing him to slam his brother into the wall, getting blood on his shirt in the process. Stefan retaliated and threw Damon into a tree and Damon was about to fight back until they both fell to the ground with an aneurysm caused by none other than Bonnie.
"What the hell is going on?!" The brown skinned witch yelled at the idiotic duo and nearly screamed at the sight of blood and a heartless dead hybrid.
"Klaus has Evan" Damon said, gasping for air is as the pain of an elephant crushing his skull went away and he was back on his feet, "He has her as a way of getting even with Stefan stealing his family"
"We're not giving his family back" Stefan muttered getting back on his feet as well before Bonnie could respond to the news of their sister being held hostage by a psychotic Original.
Bonnie gasped, "She's your sister Stefan! God know's what he'll do to her to get even!"
Stefan rolled his eyes, "Evan can take care of herself, she's just as much of a hybrid as he is"
"But she's part human!" Damon argued, trying to convince his idiot of a brother that even their feisty, badass sister couldn't stand a chance against the rage of Niklaus Mikaelson. He'd already killed her once for God's sake!
"He's not going to do anything to her" Stefan continued, stubbornly believing he was right.
Damon shook his head, "Are you an idiot?! He's killed her Stefan! He could do it again or be torturing her as we speak! Get rid of this 'I have no humanity' bullshit we need to get her back! She's our fucking sister!"
"He's not going to do anything to her if he wants his hybrids to live" Stefan reiterated as though his brother had said nothing at all to him.
"I have to get to school" Bonnie muttered with a sympathetic look on her face, "She's your sister Stefan...but Damon, if we give in now, he'll have control over us and probably kill Stefan for taking his family in the first place. We need to plan this thing out first"
"Are you serious right now?!" Damon yelled as Bonnie walked away and he was left dealing with his brick wall of a younger brother, "I'm getting her back"
Before Damon could walk away, Stefan grabbed his arm, "No—you're burying the body...I'll handle it"
And with that, Stefan disappeared with supernatural speed. Damon finally yelled out in fury causing the birds in the trees to fly away and he kicked the body of the dead hybrid before grabbing him by the arm and dragging him off to bury him.
At the Mikaelson Manor
"Show her to her room would you, love?" Niklaus muttered to his hybrid as he stared down at his sister's occupied coffin.
"Sure" Was his monotonous response before Rebekah was being wheeled away and Klaus was left seemingly alone.
Without taking one step but a sip of his wine, he looked up to where he saw Stefan Salvatore was leaning against a wall.
"I'm surprised you're still in town, I granted you your freedom, you could go anywhere" He said to the smug Salvatore.
"I live here Klaus" Stefan said, continuing to lounge in the doorway he was standing in.
Klaus rolled his eyes, "Well if we're playing this game, I was here first"
"Where's my sister?" Stefan finally asked, done with the banter before it had even started. Klaus and his tactics made him feel murderous.
"I see Damon told you the news" Klaus said taking a cheeky sip of his wine, "She's resting...resurrection takes a quite a bit of your strength"
Stefan paused, listening in for his sister but he was met with silence. Not even a breath of sleep or a scream for help but silence, which made him angrier.
"I said...where.is.she?" Stefan growled with clenched teeth as he stepped into the Original hybrid's face.
Niklaus's eyes darkened as the Salvatore vampire overestimated his power.
"Is everything alright?" His female hybrid asked, returning from taking Rebekah to her room.
"Of course" Niklaus said to her with a fake smile, "I was just suggesting Stefan here leaves before things get messy"
In one swift motion, Stefan beheaded the hybrid girl without an ounce of remorse, surprising Klaus for a split second. The girl's head dropped to the ground and Stefan gave the Original a nasty scowl.
"I would suggest you keep your hands off of my sister...before things get messy" Stefan remarking, throwing the tool he used to kill the hybrid back onto the work table.
Enraged, Klaus scowled back, "Careful Stefan...I'd hate for you to sound like hypocrite. It's not fun to know where your family is, is it?"
"She has nothing to do with this Klaus!" Stefan yelled, beginning to crack and Klaus merely grinned.
"She has everything to do with this, family for family, am I correct"
"Fine" Stefan snapped, "But with every day she's not back, ten hybrids die"
Klaus scoffed, "Then the same goes for your loved ones, Alaric's back I'm sure he'd love to die again or maybe I should give Jeremy another go!"
"Go ahead!" Stefan shot back, "Unlike you I don't care about useless people, I don't care if you kill them all!"
"Then I'll start with your sister" Klaus growled with yellow eyes from anger causing Stefan to see red before Klaus disappeared from his sight and he yelled out for him in anger.
The youngest Salvatore yelled and screamed Klaus's name, destroying things until he was dragged out of the house by hybrids.
Little did he know, Niklaus returned to his bedroom where the only female Salvatore female laid, already had been provided with blood and in the midst of awakening. She wore a beautiful diamond necklace being used as an apology from Niklaus letting his anger get the best of him because she meant more to him than either Salvatore brother even knew.
Niklaus sat in an armchair across the room as he watched the woman come back to life before him taking a sip of his wine and when she came back to life, he went straight for her neck.

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
