Oh my freaking gosh OVER ONE THOUSAND READS!!! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING

in shock and amazement at the unconscious girl with the unruly mane before them. There was the smell of smoke laced with the air they breathed but that was the only evidence to what they had all just witnessed.

"Did she just..." Damon murmured with wide eyes as he stared at his sister who had just passed out.

His green eyed brother nodded slowly, "Y-yeah...she did"

"But how?" Damon asked, talking more to himself than the other two men.

Evangeline's body was emitting a black smoke, worrying all of them but none more than the Mikaelson hybrid who was staring at her in awe. He had never met a creature like her and he couldn't fully believe that he was seconds away from being engulfed in flames that a petite like her created.

"She needs help" Damon Salvatore hissed, electric blue eyes staring at his sister in fear as he smelled the blood trickling from her nostrils.

"Don't—"Niklaus' warning was cut short when Stefan sped over to his sister attempting to pick her up, only to be burnt badly, "Never mind"

Stefan stared at Klaus accusingly, "What the hell just happened?!"

The hybrid rolled his eyes, picking up the girl himself, seeing as he was definitely used to her burning him. Sure it hurt him but it also made him feel something he couldn't quite understand. Like she gave him some sort of reassurance.

"I'm sure she's told the two of you what she was, put the pieces together yourselves" The blonde man retorted before beginning to walk away until he stopped in front of Damon, "I'm sure you have time seeing as I've solved your little problem with pining after your brother's girl...again"

Damon growled at that, trying to seem as intimidating as he could.

Klaus, however, guffawed in amusement, "I'd love to see how bad your bite is but my hands are a bit full mate"

He signaled to the man's unconscious sister in his arms before he took Evangeline towards the back of Gloria's. He really hoped that the little hybrid in his arms was going to be okay. As much as he didn't care to admit, she'd grown on him extremely and he regretted pushing her to her defenses the way he did. She caught him by surprise when she had advanced on him and Klaus refused to look weak or be bested by anyone.

The nightclub/bar was closing down when he entered the back and saw Gloria stacking a couple boxes for storage. She turned around and ticked an eyebrow at the sight of a smoking Klaus walking towards her with Evangeline in his arms.

"And what do we have here?" The white haired witch questioned as the hybrid found a metal table to lay her on only for it to begin to melt leaving the hybrid no choice but to set her on the concrete.

"Our little spitfire here just nearly set me on fire" The hybrid murmured as they both stood around her, observing the smears of blood on her nose and now her ears.

Gloria looked shocked at that, "Did she now?"

Just as Klaus was about to answer, Stefan entered looking distraught and his frown deepened at the sight on his sister lying on the floor. He had just basically told Elena—the love of his life—that he didn't want to see her anymore. His heart broke at the expression she wore but he knew he couldn't go back on his word to Klaus, not if he was going to make sure his older sister was okay.

The hybrid smirked at the sight of him, "I was afraid you'd gone running for the hills"

"I said you had my word" Stefan reiterated, refraining from rolling his eyes before he looked over at Gloria in a bit of shock, "Aren't you supposed to be—"

"Old and dead? Yeah, well if I died, who'd run this place?" She questioned him rhetorically before looking back at Klaus, "Where is Rebekah?"

"Rebekah?" Stefan asked, confused.

"My sister" Klaus smirked, "The two of you have quite the history, I'll tell you all about it but first—"The blonde looked back to the witch, "Is she going to wake up?"

He nudged his head towards Evangeline, who was still unconscious, and Gloria shrugged.

"That's all up to her, the way she's bleeding signals that her body is trying to heal itself. All we can do is wait but in the mean time—"

"I got it, bring Rebekah" Klaus muttered rolling his eyes before he left the room faster than the speed of light.

As soon as he was gone, Stefan dropped to his knees and almost launched to bring his sister in his arms but sighed, remembering how he was burned before. He wasn't sure how Klaus—even being as powerful as he was—was able to tolerate the heat of his older sister. When he touched her, her skin felt like she was the human sized equivalent of the sun. It was amazing, now that the brunette man thought about it. The way her eyes glowed that enchanting orange-red hue and how she had the courage to take on someone as strong and calculated at the Original Hybrid himself. He had always looked up to his sister ever since he was young; today had just proved that it wasn't a mistake doing so. He just needed to make sure she was okay.

"Why...why is she so hot?" Stefan asked looking up at Gloria who was collecting a number of candles, most likely for whatever reason she needed Rebekah.

The white haired witch sighed, turning towards the worrying vampire, "She's part dragon Stefan, they're always hot but since she's new to this side of her, I'm guessing she can't control her temperature"

The brown haired Salvatore hung onto the witch's every word. He didn't know anything about the mysterious side to his sister and wanted that to change immediately so that he could help her. Though, the way Gloria spoke to him, it seemed like she was hiding something.

"What are you leaving out?" The green eyed Salvatore accused, glaring at the witch with narrowed eyes.

Rolling her eyes, Gloria ignored the question, "I see you still have a terrible choice of friends"

Stefan frowned, "Excuse me?"

"Ask your sister" Was all the witch said before she went back to collecting her white candles.

As if on cue, the female Salvatore gasped awake. With her eyes still glowing, she looked around frantically before hunching over and coughing up blood and—what looked like ash. Stefan could hear her heartbeat pounding sporadically in her chest as she wheezed and dry heaved. He wanted to pat her back or do something to comfort her but he couldn't exactly.

"E-Evan?" He asked quietly causing her to snap her head over to her brother, still coughing.

"Ste-Stef" She coughed four more times before taking a deep, dry breath and stopping.

Before he could stop her, Evan sprinted over to him supernaturally fast and pulled him into a hug only for him to scream in pain. She immediately jumped back and cursed under her breath.

"Sorry Stef" She apologized in a raspy voice before looking around the room once more, "Where's—"

"He went to get Rebekah" Stefan said with a swirl of emotion in his eyes and his older sister widened her matching irises.

"Oh" She murmured before looking down at the blood splatters and ash all over the floor then back to her brother.

She wore an emotion in her eyes that her little brother hadn't seen in almost two hundred years. Fear.

"It's going to be okay" Stefan whispered, feeling a large amount of pity for his sister and her unknown behavior.

Evangeline looked at him doubtfully, "I just breathed fire Stefan, and now I'm coughing up blood and ash. Nothing about this is okay"

Stefan sighed at his sister's cynical words, "Everything is going to turn out fine Evan, Gloria can help"

"She hates me" Evan muttered with tears in her eyes as the witch just nodded in agreement, "Any unus turned into a vampire has died Stefan, the only reason I've been alive for the past couple of centuries is because my unus side was dormant"

"Then why isn't it anymore?" Stefan asked, growing more confused by the second.

He knew his sister was hiding something from him, multiple things apparently with the whole Rebekah situation.

Evan sighed, "My grandmother says I found my mate"

Stefan immediately frowned, "What? Your mate? Isn't that a wolf thing or something?"

"I thought so too" Evan said, "But apparently mates exist in every supernatural shapeshifting species and in mine, aside from turning twenty one, your mate can bring out your unus power as well"

"Then who is it?" Stefan asked and his sister immediately looked to the floor.

She knew that her brother would freak out if he found out that her mate was most likely Niklaus and she didn't want him to go off the deep end so he was going to have to lie.

"I'm not quite sure yet, they're close I'm guessing, I just don't know who" She was unable to look her brother in the eye but she was hoping he wouldn't press the subject.

Thankfully, he didn't.

"I'm not going to let you die" Stefan insisted, as Evan tried hard to get her eyes to change back to their normal green.

Her fiery eyes went back to her brother, "I don't think it's something you can control"

Stefan went to speak but she changed the subject, "Where's Damon and the other one?"

She didn't want to say Elena's name out loud because she was sure Gloria would rat the whole situation out to Klaus because she disliked Evangeline so much.

"They left" Her brother responded, looking quite heartbroken at his own words.

Evan frowned, "And why didn't you go with them?"

"I told Damon that I needed to make sure you're okay...it's my fault you're here anyway. I shouldn't have let you go to meet Klaus alone"

The curly haired girl sighed and shook her head, "I wasn't going to let you go with me anyway. Besides, I've been fine. This whole thing would've probably happened either way. No one is to blame for this aside from my genetics"

They both laughed dryly at that, just as Klaus entered looking quite pissed, along with a blonde who was still dressed for the twenties who looked annoyed. The hybrid was glad to see his little spitfire of a hybrid awake but he was still angry at his sister for losing the one thing he was counting on her to have.

"Stefan?" The blonde said with a clear accent to her voice, completely surprised and seeming a bit love struck.

The Salvatore brother frowned, looking at the blonde girl without a smidge of recognition.

"Why is he looking at me like that Nik? Who is she? And what the hell happened to her?" The female Mikaelson whined looking at the two Salvatore siblings.

Niklaus rolled his eyes at his little sister, "We're leaving, I'll fill you in on the drive to the hotel" He then looked at Gloria, "We'll be back in the morning"

She just shrugged and walked away before the hybrid's eyes fell on the second hybrid in the room who was looking at him with a mix of hatred, regret, and fear.

"I...I..." Evangeline struggled to find the right words for him, "I'm not going to apologize for my initial reason for charging at you but I will say I regret almost burning you to a crisp because now my eyes are stuck like this"

The hybrid nearly smirked at that, "You can't get into my car until your internal temperature is at most 100 degrees so I suggest you fix that yourself, Dear Angel"

The female's body temperature only increased with his words and the smoothness of his voice. Stefan looked at the two, completely appalled while Rebekah didn't hide her disgust.

"Can we leave before the two of you start humping each other? And what is all of this about body temperature?" She asked more questions before looking directly at Evan, "I still have no idea who you are and why the hell you look like you've been lit on fire"

The brunette Salvatore chuckled a bit, "Evangeline Salvatore"

Rebekah's eyebrow shot up before she looked between the brother and sister, "You two are...why haven't I heard of you?"

"You have been in a coffin for ninety years" Evangeline said with a shrug causing the blonde to cut her eyes at her own brother.

"Right, thanks Nik" She snapped before rolling her eyes and walking out the door.

Klaus and Evan chuckled while Stefan still looked completely confused. Sighing, Evan looked at Klaus who looked at her and rolled his eyes before walking over to her brother. Stefan began backing up before Klaus caught him by his shirt and began to compel him.

"You will remember everything" He muttered entrancing the man before letting him go and stepping back.

A wave of emotion hit Stefan through each memory as he looked at the man in complete shock, "You and I were..."

"Correct, best friends, brothers even" Klaus finished impatiently, "Now let's go"

Evangeline Salvatore

Since there wasn't a shower I could hop into with the water on nothing but cold, I was pretty out of luck in terms of cooling down. At first, I'd figured I would just walk to the hotel since I knew where it was but I had a feeling my brother wouldn't cooperate if I wasn't present. If he'd even want me around him, that is.

Klaus compelling him to remember their past friendship was like a bomb being dropped on him, I could see it in his eyes. Knowing that I kept that from him made me feel terrible but I figured it wouldn't have been something he would be proud to remember. My brother was pretty terrible back then—worst than Klaus.

Anyway, in the end I just ended up having a cooler of ice water poured on me by an all too satisfied Gloria.

Shivering, I went out to Klaus' car finally where he and Stefan were waiting against the hood of while Rebekah waited impatiently inside the car. Both men lifted an eyebrow at the sight of me.

"What?" I snapped, trying to keep my jaw from chattering, "There weren't many options"

All I wanted to do was just curl up in a ball and just stay there for a while—or forever.

Klaus chuckled, causing me to glare at him, before he went to his back door and opened it before grabbing something and handing it to me.

A small smile tugged onto my lips at the sight of the warm coat that was drenched in his scent that he put in my hands before I slipped it on and looked up at him gratefully.

"Thanks" My words were barely above a whisper but all of us could hear them.

He answered with a glint in his ice blue eyes that sent a cool shower over me all over again before we all got into the car. I wanted to hug him for it, and I probably would have if my brother and his sister weren't mere feet away from us.

Showing Klaus affection was something I had only been comfortable with when it was just the two of us. Why? Because no one would understand why I did it. They would criticize me and sing me the same song about his past and his inner evil that I had already memorized the lyrics to.

My brother seemed to be battling with himself as he sat beside me. I knew it because he was wearing his usual brooding look that meant that he had millions of questions, assumptions and accusations running crazy in his head. If they weren't addressed, he'd burst.

So, I turned to him, "Whatever you're trying to ask, just ask it, Stef"

"Right Stef" Klaus mocked from behind the wheel.

"Oh shut up, will you?!" I snapped at him, shocking the blonde next to him but only causing him to roll his eyes at my feistiness.

Stefan looked sick, "How did you know? About 1920?"

"He told me" I said nudging my head over to Klaus who just shrugged, "Don't know why but eh...how are you feeling?"

"Like I just figured out that I was best friends with a devil" My brother deadpanned causing Rebekah to laugh and Klaus to wear a wolfish grin.

"Thanks mate" He thanked sarcastically, "Quite the compliment there, Ripper"

Sighing, I just rolled my eyes at the man, they always tried to call me the sassy one but I swear he was the sassier hybrid.

"That was my past" Snapped my brother and I almost gave him a high five for it.

The blonde hybrid's smirk only deepened, "For now"

"Alright, enough, I'm bored and I need to change" Rebekah announced out of pure annoyance, "Where the hell is this hotel, Nik?"

He ignored her until we pulled up to the White Rose after a few minutes and I realized that there was only one bed in the room we had settled into.

Klaus, seeming to have realized it as well, approached the woman at the front desk and compelled her into giving us another room before turning to his sister, my brother, and I.

"The two of you will be rooming together" he informed my brother and Rebekah.

I frowned but Rebekah spoke before I could, "And why aren't the two girls rooming together, Nik? I don't want to spend the night with someone who doesn't recognize me"

"Because I'd rather not listen to him whine about the fact that I killed the love of his life and Dear Angel here already has her things in the original room" Klaus explained but it didn't really make much sense. I literally had one bag.

"I want to say with Evan, to keep an eye on her" Stefan insisted, standing in front of me slightly.

"I want to get to know the only girl that's able shut my brother up!" Rebekah exclaimed, pushing my brother aside and pulling me to her side.

"And I want the two of you to shut the hell up but seeing as that's not happening, looks like none of us are getting our way" Klaus snapped before they all turned to me.

Putting my hands up in surrender, "I just want to go to bed" they all rolled their eyes at that but I continued, "And while you all have a point, the only one of you I don't care about hurting with my abnormal, unpredictable body temperature is you Nik so I'll just stay with you"

The hybrid smirked then frowned, "That hurt's Dear Angel, it does but at least everything is arranged"

Rebekah pouted, "Fine but we're shopping tomorrow morning but in the mean time, I'll need some of your clothes Dear Angel or whatever it is"

Klaus looked annoyed at her use of the nickname he gave me but I just laughed and agreed before we all went towards the rooms.

I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt for Rebekah from Klaus and my room while everyone else was in the living room area.

"What kind of trousers are these?" Rebekah queried, clearly repulsed by the cotton pants in her hand.

I chuckled at that, "Sweatpants, people today lounge around in them"

The blonde scrunched up her face in displeasure, "They're atrocious"

"Yeah" I agreed with a shrug, "But they're comfortable as hell"

Rebekah still looked unconvinced so I sighed, "Alright, come with me. You can choose what you want, I've gotta clean myself up"

I was noticing that my neck still felt sore from where Nik choked me and I wanted to know why. I should've healed by then.

Rebekah and I went to the bedroom while the guys did whatever guy immortal beings do.

"My suitcase is the smaller one" I said pointing to Klaus and my suitcases on the bed.

His sister lifted an eyebrow, "Only one bed?"

Resisting a blush, I just shook my head laughing a little, "Ask your brother"
