《Devil May Love | Niklaus Mikaelson》Chapter Ten: Not-so-St. Stefan

Just got home, thought I'd give you guys another chapter for being so awesome :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
an old apartment building and I couldn't help but to feel anxious for what was going to come. Were there going to be old skeletons of my brother's victims and dried blood everywhere? Was the place going to be a mess or almost too neat? I felt terrible that I wasn't there for my brother during his worst days. I might as well have stuck a dagger in him than abandoned him for over a century.
Klaus and I entered the place, and, much to my pleasure, it didn't look like a murder house but a normal one bedroom apartment. There was a feeling of presence though, and I caught three scents that I knew all too well.
"Do you feel that?" Klaus murmured with a finger raised in the air as he entered Stefan's old bed room, "Is anybody here?"
"Someone probably broke in" I muttered telling the half truth as I looked around the room.
It held the neat messiness that I knew my little brother for and I was glad about that. I was still going to kill him and Stefan for bringing Elena here.
"How is this place a memorial?" I asked, looking back to the Original.
He grinned with remembrance in his eyes, "One of your brother's victims, my favorite, was a human named Liam Grant...he made him drink his wife's blood for threatening to call the Chicago PD"
My eyebrow shot up, "Oh god, seriously? Gross, Stefan, gross"
Klaus shook his head, "Anyway, I couldn't figure out why your brother always asked for the names of his victims and then he let me in on a secret...it was like a ritual"
"He wrote them down" I uttered, eyes wide with realization.
"So he could relive them over and over again...it was quite brilliant" The hybrid was in awe but I was disgusted.
St. Stefan definitely didn't exist in the twenties.
Klaus turned around and pulled a part of the wall off causing a distinct smell to hit me hard...Elena, shit.
"Take a look" He said with a wry smile and a returned the smile with a weak one as I brushed past him only to be face to face with the doppelganger.
She looked like she was about to shit herself, if I was being honest.
I gave her a warning look as I looked at the list of names she was standing next to. There were over a hundred on there, it was quite terrible. Thank God his friend Lexi got him out of it.
"Look what I found" I announced while Elena looked at me scared and betrayed.
Instead of revealing her presence, I grabbed the first bottle of liquor I could find and showed it to the blonde man.
He looked down at the label, reading it aloud before glancing up to me with a smirk, "This happens to be my favorite...looks like I've found someone to share it with"
I gave him a small smile, "Well, there's plenty then...I've seen enough of my brother's past, we should go"
He nodded and I closed the small area Elena was in back up and followed him out with a sigh of relief.
If Elena was there by herself, then, where the hell were my brothers?
(^.^)
Klaus and I decided to check into a hotel to put our things somewhere before we went back to Gloria's where we'd hoped Rebekah would be awake and present. The place we went to was called the White Rose, it was medium sized with a homey feeling to it that I adored. Klaus, again, got a room where we would have to share a bed but this time it was king sized and there were multicolored rose petals decorated across the comforter.
"Cute" I muttered giving Klaus a side glance as I immediately chose the side of the bed that was next to the outlet.
Klaus put his things down on the other side of the bed and just stopped, staring dead at me.
I tried to ignore him at first as I put my phone charger on the bedside table along with my keys that had been useless all week but his stare was practically burning holes in my skin. Finally, I looked up and caught the gaze of his ice blue irises with a quirked eyebrow.
"Yes Mr. Mikaelson?" I asked faintly as I mindlessly played with the zipper on my suitcase.
He grinned a little at the nickname but kept the intense gaze, "I'm just wondering what it is that triggers it"
Playing dumb, I questioned him further, "Triggers what?"
"Your fire, Dear Angel, the one that has burnt me on multiple occasions" He explained with a chortle and I just shrugged.
"Maybe it's you" I murmured, finally voicing what had been on my mind the moment I'd gotten off of the phone with my grandmother the other day.
Klaus didn't look the slightest bit surprised with my statement so obviously, he had thought about it on more than one occasion.
But the thing was what if my mate really was Niklaus Mikaelson, otherwise known as the big bad wolf? Would he use me to become more powerful? Most likely. But what if this new side of me was going to be the cause of my doom? How would it affect him? Would his enemies become mine?
And most of all, would we actually have to, you know, mate?
"What are you thinking about?" Klaus queried softly now standing right beside me making me jump in the process.
"N-nothing" I stuttered feeling a blush to my cheeks.
Well, this is awkward
"Are you sure, love?" He murmured as he leaned down now nuzzling his face against my jaw causing my breath to hitch.
My heartbeat was surely skyrocketing and I knew he could hear it. I was glued to my place, forced to let him torture me with his little touches and soft, raspy voice.
"Y-yes" I gasped as he took my hands away from my suitcase and kept them in his.
The warm of his hands shot up my arms and sent a flush to my face. I wanted to say something, to ask what he was doing, but I was rendered speechless at his actions. Klaus had the habit of catching me off guard and that time was no different.
"You're heating up, love" He whispered against the shell of my ear before doing the unexpected and biting my earlobe softly.
Stifling a moan, I tried to pull myself out of the heat radiating off of him but felt like putty in his hands.
He lifted my chin and his lips were right there, just an inch away. My body felt like it was tinged with fire and my nerves were shot. The hybrid's skin began to sizzle like he was a vampire standing in the sun without a daylight ring but he only smirked at that and brought himself closer. His chest was pressed against my upper body and his free hand was on my waist sending heat radiations from where it laid. If he had a heartbeat, I would've been able to feel it we were so close.
In a second, he looked down at my lips while I kept my gaze on his eyes, reading them. Everything Klaus did, he did it for a reason and for a certain response. I was too smart to think that he was plunging himself in just as deep as I was and although I felt like I was losing it, I grabbed all of the control I could.
"You're burning" I mumbled barely above a whisper.
By that time, my clothes were seconds away from going up in flames. There was a dull ache in my jaw and my eyes were burning, my skin was sweating...I felt like a fiery mess.
Ignoring the burning off his skin, he slide his thumb up to my bottom lip and began rubbing it "What if I kissed you, Angel?"
I closed my eyes, taking in a breath as something hot shot straight through me at his words. I'm pretty sure smoke was literally coming out of my nostrils at that point.
His breath was against my lips and my mind was in a haze.
Please, Nik.
Something inside me begged and much to my surprise and displeasure, the Original jumped away from me in shock.
Feeling like I had been dowsed in cold water, my eyes shot open and I recognized a deep confusion on the Hybrid's face.
"Y-you didn't...I heard..." He looked stunned, glaring at me with the wild eyes of a confused human, "How did you do that?"
"Do what?" I asked weakly, running my hands through my hair as my body settled down from the teasing I had just been tortured with.
The man's resolve was impeccable because he didn't seem the least bit affected by the seduction he had just given me. I, on the other hand, felt toyed with and vulnerable.
"I heard you beg" He exasperated, "But I was watching your lips, they didn't move at all...but it was like you were speaking right into my ear!"
He was looking at me accusingly, as if I had been playing a trick on him. The only thing I could think of was ventriloquism but I was sure he'd blow a gasket if I told him my thoughts on the subject.
"I thought that I—well—that I thought that" I explained honestly, blushing a little at the fact that I was basically admitting that I had been begging him to kiss me.
It freaked me out a bit that he somehow heard my thoughts but I was handling it better than he was. He did not seem to handle things he didn't understand very well and it was showing very clearly.
"We're going to Gloria's" The blonde man announced before making a beeline for the bathroom for a reason unbeknownst to me.
Then, it hit me. Aside from his hard chest pressed against me, there was also something very hard against my lower abdomen as well.
Blushing, I quickly turned myself away from the bathroom and looked through my bag for something to change into since my clothes were half burnt.
As much as I had wanted to just throw on yoga pants and a t-shirt, I knew Gloria's was a higher end place than that so I was going to have to actually put thought in what I wore. The only things that weren't wrinkled from being shoved into my duffel by, someone I knew, was my black peplum mini skirt and maroon three-quarter sleeve fitted crop top so I grabbed the two and put them on in supernatural speed. Thankfully, the expensive Victoria's Secret undergarments I wore were worth the trouble and hadn't been tinged from my little moment.
I couldn't help but to laugh at the fact that I was literally hot and bothered by Klaus just as he entered the room looking semi-relieved.
"You were in there for quite a bit" I teased boldly and he tried to deny his blush as he walked in front of me towards the door.
"Oh shut up" He grumbled playfully and we both chuckled before leaving the room.
When we arrived at Gloria's, we sadly didn't find Rebekah but Gloria was behind the bar serving drinks. It was around nine or ten at night and the place was very much alive.
Klaus and I went over to the bar and sat down directly in front of her.
"One beer and the cherry bourbon for the lady" Klaus said cheekily for the witch.
She set down my glass and Klaus's bottle staring at us impatiently as we both took a drink.
The witch finally cracked, speaking her mind, "Where's Rebekah?"
"She'll be here" Klaus said passively, "Let me just summon her as I please"
Gloria just rolled her dark eyes and began to walk away but I stopped her.
"Could you tell us more about what you said earlier, the mates?" I whispered the last part to her and she visibly tensed.
She sighed and shook her head, "Not with all of these listening ears"
Klaus and I both sighed in frustration, "We can handle a few eavesdroppers" Klaus said annoyed.
Gloria stood her ground, "Bring me Rebekah and we'll talk"
"What does Rebekah have to do with any of this?" I asked with a frown.
"She's key with speaking to the Original witch, she has a lot to do with both situations" Gloria explained and I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach that I didn't quite understand.
It was like I knew the Original witch was trouble and I dreaded the second she was summoned but in reality, I had no idea what they were talking about. Anastasia did bring her up a couple of times when we still traveled together but she didn't know much about the woman either
"In that case, I'll need two" I mumbled, finishing more than half of my drink.
"Might want to slow down" Klaus mumbled mockingly and I just glanced at him rolling my eyes.
"Might want to slow down" I sneered back mocking his British accent and he raised his eyebrows.
"Did you really just mock me?" He didn't look angry, just amused.
I went to answer him but I spotted someone behind him and inwardly groaned. It was Damon. He did a head motion for me to go with him then walked in that direction. I looked back at Klaus who was staring at his beer bottle.
"Maybe I did" I said tauntingly relishing in the small smile I caused on his lips, "But I have to go to the bathroom so I'll be back"
"Don't set the place on fire, love" The hybrid teased causing me to scoff and flick his head as I got up before leaving for where Damon went.
Seeing my older brother standing there was a bittersweet feeling. On one hand, I was ecstatic to see him because I had only seen them briefly before I was forced to leave the state with Klaus. On the other hand, him being here could get him killed by the Original I was with and I wished he knew that I could take care of myself.
Deciding to go towards the angry route, I supernaturally sped towards him and slammed him into the nearest car.
"Damon, what the hell are you doing here?!" I hissed, hoping to God that Klaus wasn't going to come after me.
My brother rolled his eyes but struggled in my gasp, "I expected more of a hug and an 'oh my gosh, thanks for saving me', let go"
"No!" I snapped slamming him against the car once more, "I can take care of myself and I have been for the past week or so! You see I'm completely fine now go the hell back home!"
"We're not leaving without you" Damon huffed, clearly aggravated, probably because his little sister was overpowering him.
I sighed and shook my head, "You and Stefan need to get Elena out of here. Something went wrong with Klaus' hybrids and I'm pretty sure Gloria is going to tell him that her" I signaled over to where I knew Elena was standing, "Still breathing is the problem"
My older brother cursed under his breath and I finally let him go, "You guys need to go, I'll be completely fine, I promise"
I spoke to my brother softer that time and he nodded, "Where's Stefan?"
Damon looked at me sheepishly, "He went inside to distract Klaus"
"Shit" I groaned before speeding back into Gloria's only for Klaus and Stefan nowhere to be seen.
"Shit, shit, shit" I panicked, searching around the nightclub frantically to no avail.
Just as I was about to go back out to Damon, a wave of anger and frustration washed over me. It felt foreign in my body because though I was frustrated, I wasn't angry, I was worried.
DRINK! I heard a very familiar voice yell before I was being pulled to a certain direction.
Frowning, I followed the pull and ended up in an alley. Sure enough, I saw a bleeding woman being pushed against the wall by a bloody faced Klaus and my brother staring at her with reluctant hunger. My breath caught in my throat at the scene and before I could utter a word, Stefan was sinking his teeth in the woman, bleeding her dry.
It wasn't the first time I'd seen a person drained by a vampire, even recently, Klaus had forced me to go hunting with him on numerous occasions but seeing my brother feeding on a human broke my heart. All his progress was being with every pint of blood he took from the woman.
"Stefan stop!" I exclaimed rushing over and pulling him off, seeing red as I looked at Klaus with tears in my eyes, "What the hell is wrong with you?!"
"I'm fixing him" He said with a dark smile as the woman fell at our feet.
Tears were rushing down my face and I was pissed off so I did something rash. Speeding towards the Original, I caught him off guard and slammed him into the wall by his neck leaving a few bricks cracked. At first, he was wide eyed but then he growled signaling for his eyes to go yellow and quickly switched our positions slamming me into the same brick wall much harder with a stronger grip on my neck. It felt liked I'd been slammed into by a semi and a person ten times my weight was stepping directly on my neck.
"Klaus, let her go!" Stefan yelled finally snapping out of what he'd just done.
My body was heating up much quicker and my eyes were stinging so much that they began to ache. I could see the red-orange glow on the prominent features of Niklaus' face as he bared his hybrid teeth at me.
"How dare you step up to ME!" He yelled in my face beginning to squeeze so tight I was wheezing for air.
I couldn't breathe but I was still struggling in his arms trying to make my skin so hot it was intolerable for him. His hand began smoking and was lighting up an orange-ish color; the sizzling was louder than ever before so I knew it was hurting him a lot. His grip loosened a bit but not enough for me to be able to get out of it.
There was something building up in my stomach. It felt like steam was rising up like a burp coming on after you drink a very strong soda.
"Klaus, you're killing her! Let her go!" Stefan begged, even through my red colored vision I could see the tears in my brother's eyes, "Just stop! I-I'll do what you asked! You have my word just let her go!"
Huh?
Confusion washed over me and I was about to attempt to speak but the steam was coming up and it felt like I was burning from the inside out. Steam was spewing from my nostrils, I felt like I screaming it hurt so bad.
Just as Klaus let go of my neck, I finally screamed but it came out as a terrible roar of a dragon as a dozen flames escaped my mouth and shot out in front of me. The scream/roar lasted for what felt like ages, it felt like everything I had was being released until finally, I stopped weaker than I'd ever been.
Before I could see the astonished faces of Klaus, Stefan and Damon and Elena who had just found us, I fell unconscious, seeing black almost immediately.
