Chapter Eight
Harmony's POV
I step out of the car with my mouth hanging open. The building Drew lives in looks very expensive.
The building is about 20 levels high. The entrance doors are made of glass and standing outside the door is a valet waiting to park your car in your designated spot.
Drew leads me towards the entrance, chucking his keys to the valet whose name is Brian on his way past.
The exterior of the building is painted a dark red, a maroon colour and the flooring is a dark brown colour.
Off to the left side of the room there is a fountain, with a fish tank beside it.
Off to the right side of the room is a wall filled with medium sized mail boxes with last names engraved on them and a mail slot located at the end of the row of mail boxes.
In the center of the room against the left wall, across from the fountain is a desk. People are seated behind it talking on the phone or typing on their computers. There is also a very nice doorman named Gary waiting patiently at the front door and a very nice elevator operator named Zachariah waiting patiently to bring the elevator to your level.

Drew smiles politely at the people behind the desk, earning giggles and winks from the girls.
We step into the elevator and Zachariah presses the floor level Drew's condo is on without having to be told.
"Zachariah this is Harmony, Harmony this is Zachariah" Drew says, introducing us.
"Hey" I say, giving Zachariah a little wave.
"Hey yourself" He winks.
I roll my eyes and shove my finger in my mouth pretending to gag.
He's a player. I can tell by the disgusting player vibes coming off of him. There is no way that anything is going to happen with him, he's not even decent looking.
Drew laughs and hauls me out the elevator, leading me down the hall to apartment 1995.
Yup, that's right. Drew happens to live on the second highest level. Yea me!
"Welcome home" Drew says, pushing open the door to reveal a pig sty.
I plug my noise and carefully walk in, trying to avoid stepping on something.
I've almost made my way to the coach, where there's not a single thing, when a huge Border collie comes racing around the corner.
I shriek as the dog ploughs into me, sending me toppling into a laundry basket filled with what looks to be dirty clothing. The laundry basket tips and the contents are spilled on top of me, burying me completely.
The dog places two paws on my stomach so I can't move and begins to cover my face in kisses. I wriggle around trying to break free but I end up wiggling my way further into the mound of clothing.
Drew is no help, he's too busy laughing. I can hear him even with his dirty clothes blocking my ears.
"DREW! GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE AND HELP ME UP" I holler.
This was not a very good first impression if you ask me. There's a 1002 pound dog lathering my face in kisses and I'm drowning in dirty clothes. Nope, not a good first impression.

I can hear Drew still laughing as he fishes me out of the lake of dirty clothes. He hauls me up and laughs harder when he see's the look of rage on my face and what happens to be on my head.
"Hey um Harmony, you've got something on you head" Drew chokes out, still hunched over laughing.
I close my eyes and reach up to pull whatever's on my head off. When I open my eyes see what it is, I scream and biff it across the room, dashing down the hall to wherever the washroom is to get Drew Boxer germs off my hands, squealing ewe w ewe, disgusting pig over and over.
I wash my hands for 3 minutes and counting just to be sure that there is nothing on my hands. My head will have to wait for when I have shampoo.
When I'm done, I stomp back down the hall to find Drew spread across the coach, a Dr. Pepper in hand watching The Book of Eli.
"I hate you and your dog right know" I grumble, plunking down next to Drew on the couch.
Drew laughs. "How could you hate little echo? He's harmless and wouldn't hurt a fly. But they way I ordered Pizza, hope that's ok"
I look down at Echo, who just placed his little head in my lap and fell asleep.
I sigh and start stroking his head. "I guess I don't hate him, but you can't blame me. He just attacked me and I wasn't expecting it. And yes, Pizza is fine"
"I guess your right, now what do you want to watch?" Drew asks, getting up to choose a movie.
"Do you have National Treasure 2? Kayla went to see it once and told me it was really good but I never got to go"
"I sure do, and it is really good" Drew puts the movie into the movie player and hops back onto the coach.
About a third through the movie, the Pizza arrives. Drew pays and grabs two plates and 2 Dr. Pepper's from the kitchen.
We crack open the Pizza box and eat the whole Pizza in 15 minutes.
Unable to keep my eyes open any longer, shortly after dinner, I lean my head on Drew's shoulder and fall asleep. All the while feeling tingles shoot into my brain and flow down my spine, filling me with heat, but thinking nothing of it.

So I'm hoping this is at least 3 pages, it's 6 pages on word but I dont know how the pages work here on Watty.
I want to thank those of you who have fanned me, who are voting for my story and commenting on it. It really means a lot to me.
I'm thinking this story may need a new title. I think I might have mentioned this last Chapter but I'm looking for new titles. If you have any ideas, Message me or something and I'll choose which one I like the best. The winner will have a chapter dedicated to them and I will read one of your stories. :)
Thanks for readin,

Bloodlines
Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. Chapters published weekly.

Living as a Demon
Jonathan was living the life of a normal human male in modern-day society, until he was rudely awakened one night by a summoning circle that ripped him out of his reality and dumped him into a new world filled with magic, demons, and…mouthy young orphan girls?! Now Jonathan must navigate the trials of playing guardian to a preteen, learning to unlock his inner demon, and somehow managing to find a dang pair of pants! Welcome! I'm E.O. Tenkey; thank you for considering Living as a Demon, my third released work here on Royal Road (following Not a Manga and Mr. Familiar)! Let's set some expectations, shall we? • Not much hard profanity (chapter 1 is the exception!)• Human MC! Our protagonist is a bona fide homo sapiens. Which is not to say there won't be demons, demonic powers, and what-have-you, but this isn't some grimdark exploration of the life and times of a nihilistic, amoral killing machine.• Slice of life. My previous works always ended up there, so might as well get ahead of the curve!• Weekly updates, and a completed story: I will post a single chapter per week on Wednesdays until the story is complete (extra chapters are rare, but do happen).

Life is a game, with intrusive microtransactions.
Life is a simulation. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging we are just a part of someone's dream, lines of code existing to give purpose for some machine or anything, but why would this unknown entity add microtransactions in it? Maybe because that way it can wake up faster, by consuming parts of it's dream, until... well, who cares about an unknown entity that has nothing to do with this particular story?
