《Unexpected Voyage》•CHAPTER 10•

While Kol and I were talking in the balcony, Matt walks past us, getting the attention of the devil.
"Don't" I ordered him without delay. I don't want him to destroy all my efforts I put throughout this evening.
"What?" He asked in a faux innocent tone, even though his eyes are dancing with mischief and a slight smirk quirked at the edges of his lips.
I know he knows that I know what he is thinking.
"I know that look, Kol. So, no." I said sternly, causing him to pout at his sister's without mercy rejection, "Think like this," I began in a persuasive tone, blocking his view, "the adventure we're going to have is going to be more fun than this trivial thing," I muttered softly, making a secret sign.
And that's how I distracted Kol from breaking Matt's bone and indirectly gifting him plaster shackle for his hand.
But it seems his hand is destined to be broken, be it by Kol or... Damon.
"Damon!" Stefan exclaimed, running out of the door with Elena and the rest of the Mikaelson, excluding Anastasia and Kol, following behind to see what happened.
Looking at Matt, who was crying in pain in his knees, holding his hand, he whispered, "Are you crazy?"
"Maybe a little," Damon said, looking at Elena, "Far it be from me to cause a problem," casting one last look at everyone, he turned his back and walked away.
~
Caroline enters her room with a phone in her ear, leaving a message for Tyler after having dropped Matt to Mystic Grill from hospital. She has been doing this from some days, not getting any call or message in return.
"Tyler, it's me." She began, taking a seat in front of her dressing table, "Look, I'm grateful for what you're doing, but...I miss you...and I really wish you were here."
She keeps quiet for a few seconds before hanging up with a sigh. She looks in her dresser mirror and notices a black round box with white ribbon, another present from Klaus, on her bed.
Caroline was expecting another set of jewelry. So you can guess her surprise when she found rolled-up piece of paper. Opening it, she was amazed. It's a beautiful and detailed sketch of her and a horse, and at the right corner, there is one line words.
Thank you for your honesty, Klaus
Looking at the sketch, she remembers the 'conversation' she had with the youngest Mikaelson.
"...try to find the back-story against whom you're acting even if the said person is villain in your eyes."
"Hero, Villain, all this, keeps on changing. It depends on who is telling the story."
Looking down at the piece of paper, she can't deny the fact that the sketch is beautiful. Even 'beautiful' word is not enough to describe it. The only problem is that it is given by Klaus, the 'villain' of her life and she can't bring herself to know about his life story like his sister told.
She took a deep breath, trying to take out the words of Anastasia Mikaelson, remembering the bad things Mikaelson did since the moment they arrived in her and her friend's life.
And like this, she successfully manipulated herself or so she thought because next moment, she placed the sketch in the black box carefully and kept it in the bedside drawer. She doesn't know why she did it. But she did.
~
"No violence, that's what all I wanted," Esther said, entering her study room, "I thought our family would make trouble, but the invited guests, themselves, made trouble." She continued, turning to Elijah who came behind her.

"It won't happen again, mother." Elijah paused before adding reassuringly, "I'll take care of it."
"Thank you, Elijah. You're the only sensible one among siblings." Esther said, placing her hand in his left cheek. Not feeling comfortable with her motherly love display, he took her hand slowly from his cheek, trying not to be rude and with that he turned around.
On the way out, he saw Finn, making him stop and question his mother's intention for the nth time this evening, especially when he is smelling sage, a herb used to do privacy spell. Giving one last look to their mother, he left and Finn entered the room, closing the door.
Esther took a seat in a table middle of the room with candles on it.
"Are we all right to speak freely?" Finn asked.
"Yes, the sage still burns." Esther confirmed, taking out a blank piece of paper, pencil, and a dagger.
"You're not having second thoughts regarding our Ana, are you?" Finn asked.
"Of course not, I will never betray you. You can trust me." Esther said, while writing the names of her kid in Runic handwriting.
Seeing the hesitation in her son's face which she didn't like one bit, she continued in a persuasive tone, "You're doing the right thing, Finn. You are helping your mother to undo the evil. Don't have any second thoughts, Finn."
"I understand. When it is time, I will be ready to die." Finn said determinedly. But he can't help feeling guilty. When they die, she will be alone. She will feel betrayed by her big brother but now, he can't back out. He won't back out.
I am sorry, little sis, for breaking your trust, for breaking your heart, for being such a disappointment, for breaking your 'Always and Forever' promise.
"Good." Esther said, standing up and taking his hand, "Then we must complete the link without any delay." Having said, she cut his hand and spilled blood onto the paper.
She starts chanting a spell, "Phasmatos inta grum vin callus...Amalon callagius accodam...Cosom naben dox...Callagius amalon...Gaeda callagius ceremum...Phamato descendium vinum...Phasmatos inta grum vin callus...Cosom naben dox."
The blood spreads across the scroll, connecting the names together like the branches of a tree indicating every Mikaelson sibling has drank the spiked champagne.
The link is complete. You are one."
With that, the paper began burning. But what Finn doesn't know is, below this paper, there's another paper which has six names.
~
Stefan walked into the house behind Elena. His brother has bailed out and so he needed to ensure that the only human doppelganger reaches her house, considering Ancient vampires are in the town.
"So uh," he began to summarize all the events of today's, adding the new information he heard just now while closing the door, "Esther wants to kill her whole family." Stefan let out a chuckle at that, thinking they are so hateful that their own mother is hell-bent on killing them, "How is that for Mother of the Year?" Stefan questioned sarcastically.
Yeah," Elena replied, inhaling loudly feeling bad for the Noble Mikaelson to whom she just lied few hours ago, "And I got to look Elijah right in the eye and lie to him about it."
Well, good. I can't say I'll be sorry to see any of them go." He said in his emotionless tone, not caring one bit about them.
I just signed their death sentences, Stefan." Elena said exasperatedly.
No, you signed Klaus's death sentence, Elena. Everyone else is just collateral damage." He said in his 'I-don't-give-a-damn' tone.
"Even that girl?" Elena asked, turning to him, thinking of that bright blonde girl with laughter in her blue eyes dancing gracefully.
"Which girl are you talking about?" Stefan asked not understanding where the conversation is going on.
"The Mikaelson girl with whom you were dancing. Did she compel you to dance with her?" Elena asked the question she wanted to ask him since the moment she saw him with her. She can't help but feel the jealousy she felt during the dance when she saw Stefan laughing with that Mikaelson girl.
"She didn't compel me. Instead, I asked her." Stefan replied calmly, thinking how later on she heartlessly abandoned him in the dance floor. But itwas funny, seeing her running away like a rabbit. Even now also he can feel laughter bubbling in his chest thinking it.
"You were smiling with her." Elena said as much neutrally as she can without showing her feelings. But Stefan didn't notice her abnormal behavior.
"Yes, she has a way to do so." Stefan said with a slight smile at the corner of his lips, remembering her joking about Klaus just to make him laugh. It didn't go unnoticed by Elena.
"She is going to die tomorrow. Her mother has arranged everything." Elena said, wanting to see how he would react at the mention of that girl's death.
"Uh...where's Damon? I would think that he'd wanna make sure you got home safely." Stefan asked instead, not wanting to think about that smiling, sarcastic, narcissistic Original.
"You're avoiding the topic." Elena caught on the way he tried to change the topic not so subtlety.
"Then take the hint." With that he left the house, slamming the door on the way, leaving a bitter and annoyed Elena behind.
Outside, Stefan took a deep breath not knowing why he reacted like this. But when Elena mentioned her death, he felt guilty, regret thinking about her grey corpse. He is not sure what he is feeling towards her but it is not romantic feeling that's for sure.
'Great, the day can't get any better. Now I am feeling things and can also differentiate it.' Stefan thought sarcastically.
He can't help but muse over the fact that the girl who made him laugh after so many months is going to die tomorrow, all because for him she is just a collateral damage.
~
Later on, Anastasia knew about the broken hand story of Matt while she and Kol were changing out of their party clothes. Now in black clothes, sitting in the dark room of Finn's, they look like a thief who is out to steal something from their elder brother's room rather than convincing him.
That's another matter that they really are going to steal something or someone after this convincing session.
"Finn, we were searching for you." Anastasia exclaimed when she saw a guilty looking Finn entering the room, startling him in the process. She already knows why he is so down and it confirmed her assumption of Finn's involvement in Esther's plan. Now, she can only pray that he hasn't told Esther about her magic which can act as a trump card in tomorrow's confrontation. Before any thoughts could enter her mind, Kol's voice interrupted it.
"Yes, by sitting in his room." He scoffed while roaming around the room, trying to find something to peak his interest. He could feel the glare of his sister which he royally ignored.
"Hush," She reprimanded him in return before turning to Finn, who by now understood that these two troublemakers are up to something seeing their suspicious clothes, "Get ready, Finn. We're going somewhere." She finished excitedly, clapping her hand, receiving amused eyes of the two brothers in return.
Finn can feel the happy bubble inside her, growing at a speedy rate per second. He can see the happy child within her who used to begin her day with her siblings and end it with them. Even now she stuck with her siblings' side. He doesn't know what she will do after tomorrow, with no siblings beside her.
Controlling his emotions, he went towards the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the almost full moon, he replied, "Actually I am not feeling well. So I would like to sleep it off," and like that he burst off her happy bubble.
"See Sia, our siblings are like this, brushing us off." Kol snapped, looking at their longest-time daggered brother, feeling sad for his sister who waited for such brother who didn't thought for a second to reject her.
Ignoring Kol's jab, Anastasia begged, clasping her hands together under her chin, giving puppy look, "Finn, please Finn. Won't you fulfill your cute, sweet, beautiful, little sister's first to many wishes of our eternal life?"
'I am sorry lil sister. I wouldn't be able to fulfill any of your wish and it will be 'your' eternal life not 'our'. I wish you would be able to fulfill your wishes on your own.' Finn thought. A lone tear slipped from his eyes which he quickly wiped it.
"Sorry. I can't." Finn replied, keeping a straight face, turning to them. He saw how his words made Anastasia's face fell and how anger clouded Kol's face. He thought they will leave him now with some hurtful words from Kol. And maybe of his lil sister's also.
But what surprised him is the determination which replaced her previous sadness in her blue eyes.
"No, I am sorry." With that she tilts her head, magically breaking the neck of Finn in the process.
She pushed the black clothes she picked for him, matching their own, in shocked Kol's hand, "Can you change his clothes?"
"Sure" Kol replied. If anybody else had asked him of such ridiculous thing, his/her heart would have been in his hand. But it is his Sia. Anything for her, especially after she showed him such a kickass move.
'Oh, that's why I love Magic and my sister so much!' Kol thought with a proud-look on his face.
Ana's POV:
After I came out of the room, I leaned against the door and took a deep breath before releasing, doing it repeatedly to calm down my heart. I just broke an Original's neck who is now posing the title of my eldest brother.
What a badass move!
I mentally praised myself for my heroic stunt. I know it's little bit idiotic and now I am supposed to panic but I can't deny how awesome it was!
Patting myself, I sneak into the kitchen to collect some blood bags from Nikky's stash and put it in my duffel bag which is already filled with syringes, anesthesia, knifes, screw driver, glass cutter, etcetera, etcetera.
Screw me for thinking so humanly
I went back to Finn's room and was about to knock the door when someone opened it. Looking up I saw it's Kol who is dragging Finn, by holding his one leg only.
"Kol," I whispered-yelled at him, "Put him in your shoulder, you idiot."
"But he is heavy." He whined.
Did he just whine?
Oh, god!
Finally after a lot of bickering in the middle of hallway, he grudgingly put him in his shoulder. I am sure Finn's snapped neck won't hurt that much as his shoulders and legs would hurt.
Shaking my head with humor, I rounded the car and got into the driver's seat and Kol in backseat with Finn who was literally thrown there by him.
And like that we set off, but not before keeping a small note in my room, in case someone searches for us.
~
"For the nth time, don't touch my stolen blood bags, Kol."
"And for the nth time, I told you to stop the car and I will go and take a bite, Sia." He rolled his eyes, leaning forward so his face was in the middle of seats, "Just because you can't tap vein doesn't mean my skills are rusty. I would have been back by the time you say 'Kol is the handsomest brother I have'"
Gritting my teeth, I spat out, "AND for the nth time, first, we have to reach home before dawn, so we can't waste time by stopping here and there. Second, my skills aren't rusty. Okay? I just prefer cleanliness, not like someone needing bib. And for the first and last time, Nikky is the handsomest brother."
I smirked, seeing his crest fallen expression, "Oh, Kol don't be sad." Removing my one hand from the steering wheel, I ruffled his hair saying, "He is the handsomest but you, my brother, are the wildest. And together we are a force not to mess with." I finished giving him a small smile, getting a cheek-splitting grin in return.
"But that doesn't mean, you get to take anymore blood bags," I reminded him that I didn't forget the topic, causing Kol to groan and lean back in his seat, "If you do, I am going to kick you out of the car."
"And, I will do the job gladly." The now much awaken Finn says though his voice is more like a broken tape, making me feel guilty for breaking his neck. I guess I also damaged his vocal cord in the process.
"Touch me, Finn and you won't have your hand."
"You try."
"Oh, I..."
"If you both don't shut up, I am going to throw you both out." I interjected, turning my head and giving my best glare to the boys who are sitting in the back, looking like they are meeting Lucifer.
Am I that scary?
"And I won't need a helping hand." I finished my threat smoothly. Hell with her guilty feeling. These two were giving her headaches.
"But where are we going exactly?" They asked at the same time, trying to change the topic. But that result opposite seeing they asked the same question, causing a glaring session between them with 'Copy Cat' look in their face for each other.
"We're going for some killing," before Finn could add his speech, seeing him on the way of opening his mouth, I added, "To rescue someone." Though he is hesitant of killing, he shut his mouth for now.
"But first we have to compel someone to get into a house." I said thoughtfully, thinking of Aaron Whitmore since he is the new owner of the house after his parent's death, all courtesy to Damon Salvatore.
I don't know whether the action of Damon Salvatore is right or wrong, but he shouldn't have killed the boy's other relatives besides his parents, leaving him with guilt of survival.
"Sia, do you know what you're doing?" Kol bellowing pulled me out of my thinking, seeing him pointing to the front of the road, gripping the back of seat tensely. That's when I realized I have been driving the car all this time looking in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
When I looked back, I noticed I am on a different lane with a truck coming from opposite direction, causing the human inside me to scream followed by the two Original at the back, "AHHH"
Instinctively, I turned the wheel ninety degree, driving it straight into someone's majestic gate and for everyone to scream in surprise. Second time
Did I mention my complete inability to drive?
There was silence in the car for a minute. I was staring ahead, avoiding the eyes of my fictional brothers especially Kol since I bragged a lot before getting into the driver seat. Apparently, the car clashed some VIP mansion's gate and the way alarms are blaring, I can tell it's one of the finest high security mansions.
"Well, we aren't far from the location. We can, you know, walk." I murmured, trying to break the tension. But it seems it's not appreciated since they responded by glaring at the back of her head.
Right now, I really do wish I could heal the car with vampire blood.
Nikky is going to kill me for clashing his car

A modern man armed with having read a few novels about cultivation is suddenly transmigrated to a cultivation world. He fights to both survive and thrive in this new archaic world full of arrogant young masters, demonic sects, and incredibly hostile wildlife. Note: In this story, I wanted to focus a lot more on what most novels skim past in regards to cultivation, namely the whole, spiritual growth aspect that seems to be entirely absent from the prosses of obtaining enlightenment the majority of the time, but the method of gaining cultivation. how it works, and what kind of world would develop around it are all things I wish to explore in this novel.
