《Unexpected Voyage》•PROLOGUE•

Opening my eyes, I find myself laying down in somewhere dark instead of my always light filled room. I tried to move my hand only to come in contact with wooden surfaces. Upon further inspection, I came to a conclusion that I am in a coffin which I don't want to believe thinking it as a nightmare. But how could it be a dream when I am feeling pain in my chest like someone stabbed it. Isn't it said that one doesn't feel pain in dream world.
What just happened for me to land in such a situation?
Am I murdered and placed in a coffin to erase any sort of evidence? But I am not dead.
Or will I be buried alive?
Oh no! I have to get out of here. I don't think anyone has noticed that I am missing since I don't have any family or friends. You see, I am orphan since 11 years old. One day my parents left home and never came back. Later I got a call from police station to know that my parents are no more. A drunk driver had hit them breaking the red signal. And the little acquaintances I have are all busy for the final which is in four days. I came out of my thought when I realized that there is a possibility of me being in a graveyard under six ft and on the process of dying due to the lack of oxygen. Having such realization, I started panicking. In panic, I kicked my coffin lid. Who would have thought it would fly off with such acceleration. According to Newton second's law, acceleration of an object is directly related to the net force.
Hang on! Is it right time for me to think about some bloody apple law inventor's another law?

I guess not. I have to flee from here before the murderer knows about his failure of murdering someone. Awful Murderer. Good thing is I am still not under some six ft in a creepy graveyard. Quickly getting up and ensuring I am injury free besides little chest pain, I notice am wearing an unknown outfit which I don't remember buying. Feeling something inside my pocket, I found an uncharged phone. "No use." I muttered only to realize I have a British accent. Now when did that happened? Tired of asking myself questions without knowing the answers, I look around the place for any exit only to find myself in a room with 3 more coffins.
Damn! It seems like I have to add the word 'psycho' before 'murderer' now.
Should I help them and take a risk of being exposed to the psycho murderer? Or should I just call the police and remain uninvolved? But what if police arrive late and the killer put them somewhere else. For example, under some creepy graveyard.
No, I have to save them. I can't wait for the police.
Thinking so, I opened the nearest coffin. Huh, why does he look so familiar? Before I could muse over it, footsteps are heard. Someone is coming. With a quick thinking, I started to shake him. Finally he opened his eyes but before he could shout thinking I am the attacker, I clasped his mouth and pointed to the door. "Someone's coming. We have to hide." I said softly. Understanding what I mean, he jumps out of the coffin and swiftly we hid behind a wall. The psycho murderer opens the door and with each step my panic increases. What if he finds us? Will he finish his job this time by cutting our neck? Before I could dwell on how we would be killed, the coffin guy pulls me in a warm hug. "Sia, everything is gonna be ok. Relax." Although he said my name wrong, I started to feel better. Maybe due to his comforting hug or his British accent like me, my panic disappeared. "Where are they?" we can hear the voice of the psycho murderer with a hint of confusion in his question. His voice sounds familiar and of British accent like us. Not like a psycho murderer's voice.

Jas, how many murderers do you know?
Maybe he will think the dead bodies have become zombies and he will run away. Yes yes it will be fabulous. Then we can rescue the rest two. But before I can have my inner victory dance, the coffin guy started walking towards our murderer. "Hey hey come back you idiot. He will hurt you. I am not gonna save you again." I whisper-yelled at him. But that bloody idiot just ignored me. I am so gonna make him future zombie.
"Kol" muttered the psycho murderer seeing the coffin guy. 'Hmm. His name is Kol. Atleast I know my future zombies name. And if it fails atleast I know what the tombstone name will be.' The coffin guy/Kol is a gone case. "Where's Ana?" added the psycho murderer.
Who's Ana? I hope his not asking about me. Relax Jas, your name is not Ana, you are Jasmine, an orphan, going to be a doctor. But before I could finish my full introduction in my mind, the coffin guy/Kol just pointed me to the psycho murderer.
What the hell?
I saved your pathetic life. You can't just turn your back on your rescuer. Okay Jas be brave. Remember what momma used to say 'Be a tiger always. Never back down'. Filling myself with enough confidence, I came out from my hiding spot casting a longing glance towards it and a betrayal one towards the snitch name Kol. Facing the murderer, I realized three things. Firstly, in spite of being a murderer, he dressed quite gentlemanly. Secondly, he doesn't have a crazy looks in his eyes when he is looking at me instead he give off a warm feeling. Lastly, I know him. He is an actor from Vampire diaries, Elijah Mikaelson. Now looking back to the coffin guy, I realized why he looks so familiar. He is Kol Mikaelson. What are they doing here being a psycho murderer and coffin guy? Maybe they can be here but what am I doing here with them in a coffin? But before I could reflect on it, I am enveloped in a warm hug and couldn't help but tense. "Welcome back Anastasia Mikelson" muttered Elijah in my ear.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
