《The Godfather {Being Edited}》¤Chapter Fifteen¤

Euphoria groaned as felt as though she'd been hit by a truck that transported bricks and those very bricks landed on her. Begrudgingly she opened her eyes. She blinked a few times before her eyes focused on the cast that started at her fingers and ended passed her wrist. Slowly but surely she had managed to sit up. Her back ached and her head punded painfully. Euphoria groaned as she took beep breaths. She noticed a bandage wrapped around her ankle and half of her foot.
Standing to her feet she shifted her weight onto one foot as she waited for the wave of nausea to surpass. Once it passed she limped to the bathroom. Once inside she knew that she wasn't home. This must be Demetrius's place
Euphoria hated the bags she sported under her eyes the big gauze on the side of her head didn't make matters feel any better. Reaching up to touch it she noticed a bandage on her other hand. Fučk sakes! How many of these am I going to find?
She noticed the first aid kit resting on the double basin sink and decided to take a shower. After some tedious minutes of painfully searching for a spare wash cloth and toothbrush she ran a bath for herself. Euphoria didn't fail to miss that she was in a dress shirt that didn't belong to her and the new found bruises she sported on her once bruise free legs.
It took her a while to remove all bandages and bandaids, take a bath, lotion up, then redress her wounds. Euphoria let her hair down after she struggled to free it in order to wash all the dirt and blood she found in it. With a towel wrapped around her body she walked into the room and went right into his closet. After searching for a while she found grey cotton basketball shorts and a white v-neck t-shirt. Looks like your girl is going commando.
After putting on the clothes she stepped out the room. A large window in the hallway view the darkness outside and raindrops against the window. Must be night time already.
Euphoria wondered around in the wide halls mindlessly. She was beginning to get tired from all the walking and creeped out from the fact that she didn't find anyone throughout her journey. She felt as though she was in a horror movie and someone was going to jump out at her with a butcher knife or a chainsaw. But, all those thoughts evaporated when she saw a flight of stairs.

Euphoria's happiness was short lived as she came to realise she has to climb down all those stairs with a bad foot. What genius puts the cripple on the top floor? After some time of trying to climb down the stairs one by one Euphoria gave up and hoisted herself on the railing and began to slide down the spiral staircase.
When she'd gotten to the bottom of the stairs she slowly and carefully slipped down making sure to use her good foot for balance. Euphoria didn't get far into the hall way before she spotted someone. Thank the heavens I'm not in some horror film because that would be so weird and twisted all together.
"Excuse me." She called out to the man.
The man who was walking ahead stopped and turned around. He waited for her to catch up before he bowed before her. "Ok?..." She trailed off confused. "May you please take me to Demetrius." She cringed at how hoarse and dry her voice was.
Euphoria didn't know why she wanted to see him in the first place. He's the reason she was in this predicament in to begin with. She watched the man stiffly nod before leading her to where he was, making sure to walk slow enough so she doesn't fall behind.
The further they walk the much closer they got to the noise. It was chatter and laughter that could be heard. I know his bitčh ašs ain't having a jolly good time while I'm hurting because of him.
The man opened the door and stepped in holding the door open. "Miss Kreek has awaken." He announced making her look at him like he was crazy.
The laughter and chatter died down as she stepped in. Her eyes danced over the women who dressed expensively and the men who dressed smartly as well as the children who shifted uncomfortably in the smart wear. One thing stuck out to her that had her lips setting into a grim line. Everybody up in this bitčh is white.
Some seemed excited by her arrival, meanwhile others seemed shocked, unhappy or distasteful by it. And others she couldn't read. As her eyes danced across the room she didn't notice Demetrius hastily making his way to her until he stood infront of her blocking her view.

Demetrius had reached for her but she stepped away from him knocking into the door slightly causing her to wince in pain. Euphoria saw his eyes glass over with hurt from her rejection. Me and you both man. This had been the first where she had rejected any of his advances or touch.
"You're awake."
Euphoria didn't respond and blinked up at him. He seemed confused and lost as to how to act. Clearly he'd never been in such a predicament. The loud growl from her stomach had a few people snickering.
"There's a place for you at the table." He gestured behind him and stepped aside.
Euphoria began to walk head and noticed the only place available was right next to his. Of course. She thought with an eye roll. She took a seat and he made sure to tuck her in. Not a moment later a plate of steaming spaghetti and meatballs had been placed before her with a glass of water. Demetrius took her plate and cut up the spaghetti into smaller pieces since she doesn't like it so long and cut the meatballs in half since her mouth was small. He placed the plate back in front of her.
"Thank you." Euphoria spoke to him to what seemed like forever.
The people on the table watched their exchanges curiously as they slowly fell back into conversation. No doubt they're talking about me.
Euphoria was halfway through her meal when Demetrius decided to speak. "How did you get downstairs?"
"I flew." Euphoria rolled her eyes.
"Don't mock me cara." He gritted out.
"How do think? I walked like a pimp with a bad limp and slid down the railing." She grumbled. "Who puts the crippled on the top floor anyways?"
"Tesoro that was reckless and dangerous. What if you got hurt?" He hissed.
"That's just the thing Demetrius. I did get hurt. You recklessly brought me into your lifestyle without any protection ultimately putting me in danger." She hissed right back as she glared.
"Kids take your dinner to the living room please." She heard someone say before multiple chairs scrapped, footsteps retreated to the door and the door shut behind them.
"You were never unprotected. I had guards on you all the time, every where you went." Demetrius countered.
Euphoria scoffed. "I surely hope you don't expect me to believe that. And even if you did: where the fučk were they when I got hauled into the alley by some dirty cops hmm? Where were they when I had to fight off three men two times my size to save myself, when they wanted to send you a message by getting to me?! Huh Demetrius?! Where were they?! Where were they?! Where were YOU?!" She all but screamed in his face as she now stood.
"Leave us." Demetrius demanded. "NOW!" He bellowed when everyone wasn't leaving fast enough.
Once they were alone Demetrius stood to his full height and approached her as she huffed and puffed staring right at him.
"No don't touch me!" She tried ripping herself out of his grasp. "Don't touch me Demetrius!"
Demetrius pulled her into his chest and wrapped his arms around her. He held her close despite her fighting him. Soon her resistance died down and her body shook with sobs.
"I was so scared..." She cried. "I haven't been so scared in such a long time and I hated it." She now wrapped her arms around him. "I was so, so scared Demetrius, so scared."
"I know mi amore and I apologies. I'm so sorry." He held her closer and placed a kissed on her temple as she cried in his chest.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
