《Sour or Sweet》fifty-eight

It has been a couple weeks since the funeral bringing us to the end of June. Last month was very challenging for the whole family. With K'Mya and Jayla popping back up along with Nerrick's sudden death, everybody just needed a breather. I don't blame them because how would you feel or react if you found out someone was following your every move? No one really knows how they will react unless they're in that exact situation. The only thing good that came out the month of May was Kayden's graduation.
Even though Cameron just buried his brother, he wanted to go back to work and move into the new house but Bri felt like it was too soon. She knew that he was only trying to distract hisself from his thoughts which is not a good thing. Cam didn't agree, and they went back and forth until Bri finally agreed that the move was okay. She was ready to go as well but she just wanted to make sure that he was okay and able before he did anything strenuous.
Brielle wanted her husband's mind relaxed as possible.
It was a hot Saturday morning in Dallas and the whole family was walking back and forth out of the house totting bins and boxes followed by moan and groans as the very pregnant lady barked orders.
"Jabari you drop that box I'm beating your ass!" Brielle hollered after Bari as he was acting like he was about to drop the box.
"Shut up yo pregnant ass up!"
Bri busted out laughing as Cameron smacked him in the back of his head. "That's what you get!"
"Girl fuck you and yo ugly ass husband." Jabari mugged Brielle before sliding the box in the back of the trunk. He huffed and blew out of breath.
"Muffin!" Dakari called out from behind her as she stood in the door.
"Yes daddy?"
He threw his head back. "Toot crying, can you get her?"
Bri nodded and walked into the house as he walked passed her totting clear bins that was holding her jewelry. Walking further into the house, Brielle shook her head at her little sister Sorayá, who was sitting straight up on the palette in the middle of the floor—crying. Zaire was just staring at her like girl shut up.
"Come here Toot." Bri called out to Sorayá. She stood up stumbling as she made her way to her big sister.
"Up." She stood in front of Bri and held her arms up.
"Spoiled ass." Brielle huffed and bent over scooping her up. Sorayá laid her head on her shoulder sticking her fingers in her mouth.
Going into the kitchen, Bri walked towards the refrigerator pulling the freezer door open and reached in grabbing two of her homemade piná colada popsicles. Once retrieving the popsicles, she shut the door with her hip and grabbed some paper towel before going back to the front. Bri placed Toot back on the palette and removed the plastic from the cold sweet refreshing treat causing Toot to clap her hands and squeal.

Before Brielle sat down on the couch she scooped up Zaire placing him on her lap the way she could—feeding him the popsicle.
As Bri was sitting on the couch she thought about everything that's been going on. She's been so focus on trying to make sure that everybody else was okay, she forgot about herself. She just hit the eighth month mark and was exhausted as hell. Her belly was bigger than normal and it was taking a toll on her body. She felt tired and weighed down all the time but she pushed through with a smile on her face.
Even though she was still unaware of the gender, Brielle was ready to give birth and meet her bundle of joy.
"Is it good bubba?" Bri was looked at Zaire and started laughing because he was tearing the popsicle up. "I take that as a yes."
Hours later Brielle was sitting in her living room with her sisters as she sat on the couch with her MacBook sitting on her stomach. Bri was browsing through her baby registry adding and removing things she didn't think looked good. She had a half of mind to buy everything herself. The registry only consisted of the basic necessities like the bottles, bibs, blankets, socks, hats, and onesie etc. Everything was neutral considering the fact she still was unaware of the gender.
It took her about twenty minutes to finalize it and once she was done, Bri shared the link sending it to everybody she could think of at that moment.
"They're still not back yet?"
Bri removed her eyes from her MacBook screen and saw her mama walking into the living room. She shook her head. "No ma'am. Wish I could've went."
She pouted because all the men went to the new house and Cameron wouldn't let her come because he wanted it to be a surprise for her. He also didn't want her coming because her push gift is already at the house waiting on her arrival. Cam purchased the gift for his wife three months into her pregnancy.
"You're going to see it soon muffin. But since you're due date is approaching, what we gonna do about the shower?" Ashley asked as she was holding her grandson.
Shrugging her shoulders Bri looked at her mama as she was making her way to the couch. "I don't know but I was thinking we could have it here instead of renting out a venue."
"Ok, I'll start making phone calls. You and Cam need to wear all white."
"Yes ma'am." Bri unlocked her MacBook and begin searching for an all white dress. Hoping to find something that will fit her now big physique.
"Toot stop!" Kailani quickly reacted and popped her legs because she was trying to pull the Airwick plug-in from the wall.
"You stop!" Toot frowned at her big sister and rolled her lil eyes.
Brielle busted out laughing. "Oh my god. Where'd she get all that sass from?"
"Chile I don't even know." Ashley shook her head and bounced Zaire in her lap.

"Keria, Kai! I need y'all help." Bri and Cam had already agreed on who's becoming the Godparents but she wanted to do something special instead of just simply asking.
"Wassup?"
"I need y'all to create two godparent proposal boxes for me. I'm about to send you guys my Pinterest to get an idea of what I want." After a few clicks on the keyboard both sisters phones dinged from the notification.
"Ma! Get your child before I beat her up. She just pulled my lash off. Badass one year old." Keria mugged her little sister.
Brielle laughed and shook her head. Her little sister was bad and she knew it. She closed her MacBook and rubbed her belly as she felt the baby move around. The alarmed beeped and Bri's ears perked up.
"Baby! I'm home!"
At sound the sound of Cameron's voice Bri hurried and tried to slide off the couch but couldn't get up. Ashley noticed that she was struggling and helped her up. She made her way into the kitchen and shook her head at the three main men in her life.
Jabair smacked his lips. "Boy get your love struck ass out the fucking way."
"Shut the hell up Jabari damn." Cameron mugged him while sliding the bags on the counter.
"Both of you muthafuckas get the hell out the way damn and shut the hell up. Can't even walk in the house all the way without you two niggas bickering." Dakari mugged and pushed them both.
"Aight old man! Keep yo hands to yourself." Jabari bucked at the back of Dakari's head before walking into the living room.
Bri waddled over to Cameron which resulted into grabbing her hand spinning her around—bringing her back to his front. He wrapped his arms around her stomach and started rubbing it before sticking his face in her neck. "I missed you today mamas."
Smiling, Brielle leaned all the way into him enjoying the feeling of his hands on her stomach. "I missed you too."
"Pops is a trip man. Once he saw the house, he asked was selling dope and said put him on." Cam let out a laugh and Bri jumped from the vibrations.
"He get on my nerves acting like he wasn't in the game before. Ol ugly self." Bri shook her head and grabbed Cameron's left hand rubbing her finger across his wedding band. A habit she developed ever since she slid the ring on his finger.
Cam shook his head. "He's something else but we should be all moved in by the end of next week. Our house is real secluded and everything. I can't wait until you see it but baby I'm finna go take a long much needed shower. Pop say we getting on grill tonight."
"Ooooo." Bri leaned up and turned around. "You doing your famous cabbage?"
"Yes ma'am. I knew once I mentioned the grill you were gonna ask. Can you make your famous lemonade and sweet tea? I bought more stuff cause I wasn't sure if we had enough."
Brielle nodded her head. "Of course. Go shower baby."
A couple hours later the whole family was sitting outside eating. Music was playing at good volume low enough to not disturb the neighbors. The babies where in their pen full halfway sleep. It was just a good moment with everything that has been going on, it was needed. Cam's parents were invited but they declined. Cam made a mental note to go by their house tomorrow.
"Y'all I got something to say." Everybody groaned and threw their arms up. Here goes Jabari, wonder what he's about to say.
He smacked his lips. "Y'all didn't even have to do all that. But listen to this. If Cinderella shoe fit perfect, how it fall off?"
Cam looked at me, I looked at Kai and she looked at daddy and he looked at Bari. Ashley shook her head. They consider it a crazy question but questionable.
"Yea. Got y'all asses thinking. Y'all gonna stop playing me like I'm crazy."
Everybody busted out laughing because he was so serious. Jabari is a whole clown.
"Wait I got one." Brielle looked at Cam because he's just like his friend and doesn't see it.
"You right Bari, but was orange a fruit or color first?" He sat back with a perplexed look on his face.
"Prolly a color since they made fru– wait.. hell I don't know. But check this out, when you erase a word with a pencil, where it go?"
At this point everybody was crying laughing.
"Mannn I don't know, but how is it that cats don't like water but pu– vagina get wet?" Cameron sat back and put his hand on his chin like the emoji. He looked so deep in thought, like he just said the most questionable thing in the world. Brielle bit her lip to conceal her laughter.
If Jabari's mouth could've hit the floor, it would have. He pointed his finger. "See now that's some deep shit! But listen at this, if a blind person have a dream can they see it?"
Dakari spit his drink out and screamed. "Boy! Shut yo mouth and don't say nothing for the rest of the night!" He slapped the table and shook his head wiping his tears.
Jabari looked at everybody laughing and smiled because he knew he had did his job and that was making his family smile. "Can I say something else?"
Ashley looked at her second son and shook her head because she knew he was true character. "Say it Jabari."
"I was doing a background check on somebody, do not judge me and tell me why the person FaceTime'd me. Talk about SPOOKED." He went to back to eating his food like he ain't just say what he said.
