It's been a couple weeks since the engagement bringing us towards the end of October. Brielle has been all smiles since then, but unfortunately her excitement has come to a standstill. Both of her court dates are slowly approaching and nervousness was an understatement. She wasn't too worried about the condo case because she'll either be getting paid or she has to pay the owner. Brielle was more worried about her case against Jayla. She could be facing up to twenty years in prison but everybody is hoping the judge will throw it out and grant her with probation.

But other than worrying about her court cases, Bri was looking forward to planning her grand opening and wedding. She didn't wanna start planning just yet because of her possibility of going to jail but her grand opening has been on her mind heavy. Babygirl finally has her storefront and that was one goal scratched off her list, thanks to her fiancé.

It was a cool Sunday evening and she was in the kitchen preparing Sunday dinner. Cam was coming home today and he requested a meal. Bri went to the grocery store around morning and picked up a couple things to cook his favorite: pot roast, cabbage, yams, baked macaroni and jiffy along with stuff to make a classic cream cheese pound cake. She invited Jabari and Nova over to eat with them. Of course Bari accepted the invite, but Nova decline because she had to work. Bri understood and said she'll save her some it was any left. Not wanting to waste food, Bri called Treyvon and told him that she was cooking. He was excited because this would be his first home cooked meal and in a minute.

Bri was currently washing the roast. She patted it dry and added her preferred seasoning before placing it in a pan. Grabbing the bowl of potatoes and carrots and Bri sprinkled a little garlic, pepper, paprika, and salt before tossing them in olive oil. Bri added the potatoes and carrots around the roast before wrapping the pan in foil. Since the oven was already preheated to 375, Bri slid the pan inside and shut the over door with her hip. Moving over to the sink she washed her hands and cleaned the cabbage—throwing away pieces that didn't look good.

"Somebody call the doctor please, cause you got me on my knees. I fell right away babe. Man I swear that thang so deep, I probably wouldn't stand a chance in your wave." Bri sung along to Trey Songz x On Top of Me as she moved around the kitchen, unaware that she was being watched. Cameron slid behind her and started the next part.

"Hey-ey, cause you know I need that real love, that real love. Like you wanna make a kid love, kid love. Something like a big deal love, for real love."

Bri elbowed Cameron in his stomach and grabbed his arm spinning around. "Fuck baby! Let it go!"

"Cameron what the fuck! Y'all gonna get enough of sneaking up on me." She frowned and threw his arm into him—pushing him into the counter.

"Damn girl. Short strong ass." Cam mugged her as he rubbed his arm.

"When you get here?" Bri asked as she placed a cutting board on the counter. She grabbed a knife and started cutting the cabbage.

He shook his head as he flexed his arm. "I pulled in not too long ago."

"Go take your dirty clothes to the laundry room." Bri shooed him away with the knife. Cam mugged her again and walked around the counter—kissing the side of her face. Bri smiled to herself and continued cutting up the cabbage.

About a hour and a half later the food was ready. All Brielle was waiting was the cake and for their guests to arrive. She was currently laying on the couch with her feet in Cam's lap, who was currently rubbing them while they watched something on television.

"Brielle." Cameron called out to her to grab her attention.

She turned her head and mugged him. "What did you just call me?"

Cameron chuckled and titled his head. "I called you by your name."

"That's not my name boy." She pulled a foot from his grasps and placed it on the side of his face—rubbing her toes through his beard.

He popped her thigh. "Lil weird ass."

"Boy fu—." Bri was cut off by the doorbell. She hopped up from the couch and slid her feet in her house shoes before heading to the door with Cam going into the kitchen. Bri shook her head once she see looked through the door and saw Jabari and Trey dancing. She knew they were only doing it because she could see them. The glass was made where you can see out but not in. Unlocking the latch, Bri pulled the door open.

"Not excited to eat I see." Bri busted out laughing at Jabari as she kicked his shoes off and slid into the house—falling in the process.

"Fuck! My ass!" He shouted.

"Dumbass and wassuh bestie." Trey shook his head and gave Bri a side hug."

"Hey Trey." Brielle shut and locked the door. She turned around and Bari was still laying on the floor.

"Boy get up!"

"Bri I can't." He let out a dramatic sigh and laid back down. Bri tilted her head to side before grinning to herself. She grabbed his arm and pulled it—dragging him into the kitchen.

"Ahhh! Help! Cameron, Treyvon!"

Bri dropped his arm and left him at the threshold of the kitchen. She nodded her head once she saw that Cam removed the cake from the oven. She walked over to the sink and washed her hands before grabbed plates from the cabinet. She set four plates and four bowls on the counter along with four cups. Picking up two bowls, she walked over to the stove and removed the lid from the pot. Since she had the food sitting on the warmer, it wasn't no need to heat it up. Bri grabbed the spoon and spooned some cabbage in both bowls—setting them to side. Walking back over she grabbed two plates and began plating. Bri set the bowl in the middle while the sides were placed around.

"Trey and Bari, y'all can fix y'all own plates." Bri said as she placed Cameron's plate in front of him.

"Thank you baby."

Bri smiled at Cam. "You're welcome, what you want to drink?"

He licked his lips. "Half and half. Can you bring some hot sauce back too?"

Nodding her head, she walked away and opened the refrigerator grabbing the pitchers of sweet tea and lemonade. Adding ice to everybody's cups, She poured lemonade in her cup and created a arnold palmer for Cameron. Once she grabbed the hot sauce from the cabinet, Brielle returned back to the table and sat down to the left of Cam.

"Girl what you do? Stick yo big toe in this? This shit good." Jabari stated as he licked his lips picking up his cabbage and cornbread mixture with his fingers.

Bri shook her head and laughed. "Thank you Bari and slow down before you choke."

"A damn child." Trey shook his head and forked a piece of roast in his mouth.

"When's the grand opening and have you guys started wedding planning?"

Trey asked which caused Bri to look up and shake her head.

"Unfortunately everything is being put on hold until I'm done fighting these cases."

"Ahhhhh! I still can't believe you shot that damn girl in her kneecaps! I'm crying! Jesus, why you make my sista so gutta?" Jabari was crying laughing as he smacked the table.

"So damn stupid." Cameron laughed and shook his head taking a sip from his cup.

"When you go to court Bri?"

Trey asked while forking some cabbage into his mouth. Taking a sip from her lemonade, Bri licked her lips. "In two weeks for the condo case and three for the other one."

Cocking his head to side. "Before or after thanksgiving?"

"After."

About a hour and half later, Bri was cleaning the dish and fixings to-go plates. She made sure to put extra cake on both Bari's and Trey's plates. It was just enough left for Nova, so she made her a plate for Treyvon to take to her. Bri placed the dishes in the dishwasher and cleaned off the stove before heading for the stairs.

"I enjoyed you two but I'm about to go take a much needed bath. Baby make sure you take the trash out and lock up."

"I gotchu mamas." Cam smacked her ass and she swatted at his hands before running up the stairs. Making it to the top and going in the direction of her room. Bri kicked her house shoes off at the door and flipped the light switch, illuminating the room. Since she has had her bonnet on all day, all she needed to was run her water and get in the tub. Once she walked into the bathroom, Brielle walked over to the bathtub and rinsed it before letting the hot water fill it up. She poured a half a cup of Calm Your Mind Epson Salt.

I really hope this bath ease my mind, because as the days get closer, the more my mind wonders. I'm lowkey sacred but then again it's like hey I did crime, just gotta pay the time if needed. I'm stressing so bad to the point I have not been eating. Throughout the week, I eat a little something and that's it. But when Cameron comes home, I force myself to eat so he doesn't say anything. Like tonight, I had a lot of food left on my plate and looked at me funny. He knows cabbage is a favorite of my mine, so for me not to clear the bowl was a definite red flag for him.

I stripped from my clothes and threw them into the dirty clothes basket. I pulled on my robe and went back into the room. I stood in front of the dresser and pulled my engagement ring off. Looking down, I twirled it around my fingers and smiled. I'm really about to marry the love of my life. Still can't believe I designed my own ring. Shaking my head, I grabbed the velvet box and pushed the ring inside. I have no clue where my phone is, so I guess my iPad it is. Taking it from the bed, I connected it to the sound system upstairs and shuffled my R&B playlist with Everything x Mary J. Blige blaring through the speakers.

"You are my everything, you are my everything. You, my everything. Everything, everything, everything." I sung along as I walked back into the bathroom. Setting the iPad on the counter, I removed my robe and stepped into the tub. I turned the water off and sat down in the tub. I sighed in satisfaction as my body came in contact with the hot water. I closed my eyes and threw my head back against the installed pillow.

"You take me away from the pain and you bring me paradise. When there were cloudy days you brought sunshine in my life. It never occurred to me the first time I saw your face, I would fall so deep in love that your love can't be replaced."

I smiled and shook my head as I heard Cameron walk into the bathroom singing. Didn't even have to open my eyes to know that he was taking off his clothes. I raised up and felt him step in.

"Fuck! Why this water so hot girl?"

I laughed and laid against his chest once I felt him sit down. He gripped my thighs under the water and wrapped his arms around me.

"Why you so tense mama? What's on your mind?"

I sighed. Was really hoping his didn't ask that. I intertwined our hands. "The fact that I could be going to jail next week. Like I know what I did was wrong and it was bound to happen someday. But damn twenty years to life for two shots? It ain't like I killed the damn girl. Do I regret shooting her? Nope because I'd do it again. She was playing with me for far too long. I really dislike bitches like her. If she doesn't respect other people's relationships, she definitely doesn't respect herself."

I shook my head and moving from his chest. I pulled my knees up and wrapped my arms around them. Damn man. I could've had more self control but oh well. It done happened already. Hope she learned a lesson from this. Next girl won't be as nice as me. Hope the bitch end up in a body bag.

"Mhmmm." I let out as Cameron started massaging my shoulders. I threw my head back and over to the left.

"Whatever the outcome is, I'm going to be by your side. I want you to stop stressing, I know it may be hard but stop. You have a wonderful supper system behind you and we're not going let anything happen to you. I gotchu baby, we gotchu." After he finished talking, he started kissing up my back, across my shoulders and my neck.

Today is a big day for the Jones and Hayes family, being that it determines whether or not Bri will be facing time. This would be case number two that Brielle is fighting. In the beginning of November, she had court for the condo case and lost, which she didn't mind at all. Cause it was partially her fault. She ran a background check on K'Mya but obviously it wasn't through. Being that her lawyer was one of the best, Brielle settled out with the condo owner for a measly 300k. She was going to get the money from the bank, but Dakari cut the check.

Currently in the car on the way to Houston's courthouse, Brielle was in the passenger seat of Cam's AMG nervous as fuck. She was so nervous she felt sick to her stomach. She laid her head on the window rubbing her stomach. Cameron glanced over and tapped her thigh.

"Baby."

Brielle turned and looked at him. "Mhm?"

"You good?" Cameron ask he came to a stop light.

Nodding her head. "Yes, just ready to get it over with."

Cameron gripped her thigh and pulled off once the light turned green. About 20 minutes later they were pulling downtown. He parked along the side and killed the engine. Looking over at Bri, he couldn't do nothing but shake his head. Opening up his door, he stepped out and made his away around to open Bri's door. Cam held his hand out and she gripped it before stepping out. Brielle stood on the sidewalk and fixed her clothes. She was sporting a all red pantsuit with a pair of black YSL pumps. Her hair was a jet black 30' custom middle part frontal wig made by her with hair from Kai's upcoming hairline, The KWay.

Grabbing her hand, Cam gave it a tight squeeze. He cuffed the side of face with his other hand and shot her a smile before taking her lips into his. Pulling back, they placed their foreheads against each other.

"I love you." They said simultaneously and shared a laugh once they realize it was said at the same time.

"You ready mamas? Our folks should be inside already. I see the sprinter and my mama ride." Cameron asked as he looked around. Bri nodded her head and started walking towards the stairs, halting her steps once she realized Cam wasn't following her. Turing on her heel, she seen that he was on the phone. Waving his hand, Cam motioned for her to come here. She walked back over and he removed his phone from his ear.

"Boy am I on speaker yet?"

Cameron laughed and shook his head. "Yes Grandma, she's standing right here."

"Bri baby?"

"Ma'am?" Bri looked up at Cam and he shrugged his shoulders.

"Close your eyes for me baby and listen to. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for allowing my grnadbbabies to see this day. Thank you for waking us up lord. But as my granddaughter steps into that court room, I ask that you protect her and give her the strength to foresee this. I ask that you do everything in your power to let the outcome to not only be what we want, but what we need. I know you can do it because you're able. You're able God, you're able, oh so able! Please protect and watch over my grandbabies as they go through this. Release the worries from her shoulders Lord! Take all her worries away Lord! Take it all away! Give her the strength Lord! We give you everything because we know tough times don't last. There is always light at the end of tunnel. As I close this, Lord I just ask you to walk with them everywhere they go. Help her keep your word in her heart. Almighty God, thank you for giving us good health and enabling us to come together and glorify your name. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."

By now, Brielle was glad her face was makeup free because she was a crying mess. "Thank you Grandma Mae."

"Wipe your face and stop crying." Bri looked up at Cameron with wide eyes. "Don't feel bad about what you did because I would've did the same thing if a little hussy was playing with me about my husband, God rest his soul, but you go in there with your head held high. I love you three! Call me when it's over and don't worry! Something good is going to come out of this." With that being said, she hung up before they started asking questions.

Cameron turned his phone off and wiped Bri's face. He grabbed her hand and they made her way up the steps of the court house. Pushing the door open, Cameron held it open allowing Bri to walk in first. She looked around and spotted her family. Dakari spotted her as well and waved her over. Once she made it, he pulled her into a hug.

"Daddy's baby!" They rocked side to side and pulled back. He cuffed her face and shook his head kissing her forehead.

"How you feeling muff?"

Bri looked over at her mama and shot a small smile. "Just ready to get it over with."

"Well let's go."

Dakari and Cameron grabbed a hold to both of her hands and they walked into the courtroom. The Jones's family lawyer was already present. Bri released from her men and pushed the little door open. She hugged the lawyer and took a seat. They went over the case even though it wasn't much to go over because Brielle just simply shot the girl.

"All rise! Department One of Superior Court is now in session. Judge Madthis presiding, please be seated."

Once the bailiff finished speaking. Everybody took their seats. Judge Madthis pushed his glasses up and took a look around the courtroom. He shook his head before speaking. "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Calling the case of Jayla Anderson vs. Brielle Jones. Are all parties present?"

Bri and her lawyer, along with Jayla and hers stood.

"Yes sir, I am Noah Watts and I'll be representing Ms. Jones, The accused."

Bri and Noah took a seat while Jayla and her lawyer introduce theirselves.

"Thank you. Brielle Jones, please rise to hear the charge.

Bri and Noah stood up

"Jones, you are charged that on, or about the fourteenth day of September, in the year of 2021, you did unlawfully assault Ms. Anderson with a deadly weapon. How you do plead?"

"Guilty." She spoke with grace. Her family gasped and looked among each other in confusion. The initial plan was to please not guilty, but Bri and her lawyer spoke about another plan Guess we gotta wait and see.

"Thank you Ms." Judge Madthis spoke causing them to sit down.

Aftera hour long recess, it was time for the verdict. The family was holding hands and praying at the same time. This was big.

"Have we reached a verdict?"

A foreperson of the jury stood and unfolded the paper. "Yes we have. We the jury, find the accused, Brielle Jones, guilty and not guilty of aggravated assault."

Bri looked at her lawyer and he shrugged his shoulders in confusion.

The clerk took a stand and spoke. "Members of the jury, hear-by to your verdict as the court does record it. You find the accused Brielle Jones not guilty and guilty. This is your verdict, so you say."

All the members of the jury stood.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury thank you for acting as jurors in this needed matters. Both society and the law benefits from your contribution. I hope you have found this to be a interesting or knowledgeable experience. Brielle, you have been found guilty of the offense of aggravated assault and a sentencing will be held now."
