Brielle completed her Instagram post and sat her phone down looking around her condo sighing. It was a cool Sunday afternoon and Bri thought that since she was done with her homework, why not get some packing done.
Walking into the kitchen she pressed a few buttons on the wall and Key Glock blared throughout the condo.
"Gas reekin tires screechin. Drop the top outside. Blowin indo. Ridin presidential S600 look like a limo. Nigga, you's a lameo." Brielle rapped along to the song as she maneuvered around the kitchen. She grabbed some plates from the cabinet and individually wrapped them in newspaper.
She moved around the kitchen packing and wrapping up her glassware.
"Call me papa Glock I got the dough! Ya dig that? Ima trap nigga you ain't know? Ya still dig that? When I dress it's 5 bands from head to toe." Bri rapped as she stuffed the boxes carefully.
Bri finished with the glassware an hour later and started on the nonperishable food. Her attention was brought away from the task at hand by her ringing phone. Incoming call from daddy with blue heart. Brielle quickly rushed around the counter and grabbed her phone answering it. She placed the phone on speaker and sat it back on the counter.
"Wassup baby girl!"
Brielle smiled at his excitement. "Hey daddy. What's up?" She moved around the kitchen and threw food in the bin.
"What are you doing? Did you get my message earlier?" Bri's face balled up in confusion.
"I'm packing up the kitchen and no, what message?"
"Click the link in our messages and stay on the phone with me."
Bri placed the bag of rice that she had in her hand on the counter and picked up her phone. She tapped out of the call going to her father's message thread. She clicked on a link and a video popped up. Pressing play, Cassidy's, Tylan's mother voice came through.
"A week ago, my son was murdered in the most gruesome way. My heart aches every time I see it in my mind. His head was delivered to my doorstep with a note that stated, 'I know what you did to B, this is for her.'
I know many of you may be confused, B was his ex-girlfriend, and I will not reveal her identity. It was brought to my knowledge that my son..." She took a deep breath and wiped her face.
"My son raped her, and he paid his actions. His best-friend provided me with proof of the rape and confessed to killing my son. Do I think he deserved to be killed? No, but I would like to apologize on my son's behalf."
She looked into the camera. "I'm sorry, I know this not going to take away the pain or damage that he caused, but I am terribly sorry. I didn't raise him that way and that is what hurt the most."
The video ended with the detective stepping up to the podium and briefing the news.
"Baby girl you there? It may not be justice to some, but it is justice for you. Me and your mama will be there Wednesday to help you pack. I love you Alaya."
Bri shook her head and wiped her face. "I love you too daddy."
She hung up the phone and sighed. Not in the mood to pack anymore, she hit the lights and shuffled into her room. Bri placed her phone on the charge and climbed into her bed to take a nap.

Two hours into her nap, Brielle was awakened by the ringing of her phone. Swinging her arm out from under the blanket, she slapped the nightstand in search of her phone. Grabbing it she slid the answer bar over putting it up to her ear.
"Hello?" She raised up and set against her headboard.
"Wassup mama."
Cameron's deep voice came through the receiver causing Bri to break out into a smile.
"Hi Cameron." Bri threw her legs over the bed and jumped down.
"What are you doing? You busy?" Bri heard shuffling and yelling in the background causing her to shake her head.
"No, why?"
"Meet me somewhere in about an hour?" Bri paused her movement. Damn he wants to see me already. She thought. "Brielle? You there mama?"
Brielle shook her head. "Yes, I'm sorry. I'll meet you, is there a certain way I should dress?"
"Casual."
"Okay. I'll see you soon." She hung up and walked into her closet. Bri pulled a long black sleeve shirt from the hanger along with a pair of black high-waisted jeans that were ripped at the knees. She threw everything on the bed and walked to her bathroom.
Brielle brushed her teeth and took a quick shower. Getting out, she dried off quickly and rubbed her body down with coco butter and slipped on her undergarments. Bri grabbed the jeans off the bed sticking her legs inside and jumped pulling them up. Picking up her black and red Gucci belt, she pulled the belt through the loops. Pulling the shirt over her head, she tucked it and fastened her belt.
Sitting down on her bench, Bri grabbed her black boots and pushed her left foot in repeating the same step for the right. Standing up, she walked into her closet and grabbed her black Gucci Dionysus handbag from a box and transferred the stuff from her wristlet inside.
Walking into the bathroom, Bri removed her bonnet and shook her hair from the ponytail that was in place. Passing the brush through until she was satisfied. Quickly spraying herself with Chanel number nine, she grabbed her bag and phone walking out of her room.
As Brielle was walking out of the door, her phone sounded. She stepped onto the elevator and looked down seeing a message from Cameron.
Soul Lux
1179 Jackson St.
Stepping off the elevator, Bri started her car remotely and slid in setting her purse in the passenger seat. She tapped through her messages tapping on the group chat with her sisters.
🧚🏾♀️💕

🤍because you're def not her.
💗 and AIN'T!
y'all play so much.
bye.
Brielle shook her head placing her phone in the cup holder. Since she knew where exactly she was meeting Cameron, she did not bother with the gps. She pulled out of the parking structure and proceeded in the direction of her destination.
Pressing play on the steering wheel, Met Gala x Gunna came through the speakers of the truck.
Brielle bobbed her head and rapped along to the song. "It's easy to slip, don't want you to fall. I drip on this bitch like met gala, ballin answer texts. Don't answer her calls."
"Yea she sent me a text; I don't answer her call. She loves when I flex, and shop in the mall. Relieving her stress, I beat down her walls." Brielle rapped and switched lanes increasing her speed.

Due to an unexpected traffic jam, Bri was stuck in traffic. Almost to her exit, traffic became a standstill. She sat up in her seat and began tapping the steering wheel with her fingers. Looking in the side mirrors, she flicked her turn signal on hopping to be let in deceleration lane. About ten minutes later, she was able to get of the exit. After a couple of turns, she was pulling into the parking lot of the restaurant. Finding a park not too far from the door, she backed in and parked leaving the truck running.
Picking up her phone, she sent Cameron a quick text.
hey, I'm here.
pulling up.
Bri pulled down the mirror and applied lip gloss to her lips. Pushing the mirror back up, she saw Cameron's Range Rover speeding through the lot. Shaking her head, she pressed the stop button and grabbed her purse stepping out.
Cameron stepped out his truck and scanned the parking lot smirking, once his eyes landed on Brielle. He walked across the parking lot meeting her halfway. "Wassup beautiful?"
Bri broke out into a smile and dropped her head.
"Aht aht! Raise your head up." He placed his index and middle finger under her chin lifting her head. Looking her up and down, he licked his lips and shook his head.
He grabbed her hand and looked down onto her as they walked towards the door. "You ever been here?"
Brielle nodded her head. "Yes. They got the best soul food in Dallas."
Cameron chuckled and held the door open for her. "You're right about that. It's a Sunday so I know the wait is going to be a minute, is that cool with you?"
"Yes, it's fine. Let's go to the waiting area." Bri walked in front of Cameron causing him to bite his lip.
"Can I take a picture of you?" Cameron asked which caused Bri to smile and nodded her head. She held her purse in her left hand and placed her right hand on her hip smiling. Cam smirked pulling out his phone and took the picture.
"Gorgeous as fuck."
Brielle smiled bashfully and shook her head. "Thank you."
"Next in line please!" Cam grabbed Bri's hand and pulled her to towards the host's station.
The host looked and grabbed two menus. "Table or booth?"
"Booth." The host gestured to the duo to follow her. She led them to a booth not too far from the front. They slid in their seat as she placed the two menus on the table.
"Your waiter will be with you shortly." Cameron and Brielle nodded and settled into their seats as she walked away.
Bri placed her purse to the right off her and cocked her head to the side. "So, what do I owe the pleasure of being graced with your presence?"
Cameron smirked and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. Just wanted to see you."
Bri gasped and placed her hand over her chest. She laughed "Oh I'm flattered."
"You are too cute." Cameron laughed and shook his head.
"You know what you're getting?"
Cam nodded. "Yes ma'am. I get the same thing every time I come here.
"And wha—"
"Hi, sorry to interrupt. I am Joreé and I will be your server for today. Can I start you two off with anything to drink?"
"Sweet tea."
She wrote down Bri's choice of drink and turned to Cameron. "And for you sir?"
"I'll have the same as her."
"Ok, are you two ready to order or do you need a minute?"
Cam looked over at Brielle causing her to nod her head. "Yes, you can take her order first." Joreé took their orders and grabbed both menus walking away.
"So, when's the first game?"
He licked his lips and leaned against the table. "It's next Friday. You going to come and support your boy?"
"I got to check my schedule. I might not be available. I'm a busy woman." She smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
A loud chuckle belted out of Cameron. "Aight, let me find out."
"Okay Hi again. I have two sweet teas, three-piece dark, macaroni, collards, and yams. I also have a two-piece catfish, macaroni and yams." Joreé placed the drinks down and set the plates in front of the correct person.
"If you need anything else, just let me know."
"This shit good."
Brielle laughed and covered her mouth. "I can tell. Slow down."
"You right, you right." He laughed and wiped his mouth. "So, what made you get into the jewelry business?"
Brielle finished chewing before speaking. "Uh well my daddy used bring us jewelry home after every win on the road, so we got jewelry often. As I grew older, I became intrigued on how everything was made. Around my sophomore year of high school, I started my business and touched my first mill at sixteen."
Cameron nodded his head. "Impressive. So medical school is still a thing?"
"Of course. I'm not graduating early for nothing."
"Early?"
Brielle nodded her head. "Yup. I will be graduating in the spring. A year early before my initial graduation."
Done eating, Cam pushed his plate away and wiped his mouth. "Are You staying in the state for medical school?"
"Yes, that's the plan. I'm full but I want dessert." Brielle grabbed her plate and scrapped the scraps onto Cameron's plate and stacked them in the middle of the table.
"Yea? What you got a taste for?" Cameron picked up the dessert menu and begin flipping through it.
"Caramel cake."
"That's my favorite." Cameron called for the waitress. "Hi, can I get two slices of caramel cake and the check?"
"Coming right up and let me take these for you." Joreé grabbed their plates and walked towards the kitchen, returning two minutes later with their dessert.
Brielle broke off into the cake with her spoon. "This good but it doesn't taste like mine."
"It doesn't taste like yours huh?" Cameron smirked and pulled his spoon out of mouth slowly. "Let me find out you know your way around the kitchen."
Smirking, she titled her head to the side. "They do say a way to a man's heart is through his stomach."
Cameron licked his lips and pulled out his wallet pulling out a fifty. "Let's get out of here."
He stood up first and held his hand out for Brielle. She grabbed it and stood up. Placing his arm around her waist, they walked out of Soul Lux full and all smiles.

8 165The Hazards of Skinny Dipping
This isn't a deep book about first loves or self-discovery. If you want a book like that, I'd be happy to recommend one, but I don't have that kind of story to tell. Instead my story is about rash decisions and finding out that your dream guy is bad in bed. It's the story of when I finally went skinny dipping, and how my life was never the same again. Oh, and it's also the story of my freshman year of college and realizing Mr. Right might have been there all along.
