"Where is your duffle Bri?"

Currently stuck in traffic, Brielle was on the phone with her sisters. She was on her way to get them after leaving school but got caught in a traffic jam.

"It's on the floor by my room door. Make sure y'all grab that bin from my jewelry room."

"Ok, are you almost here?"

"Yes, traffic is somewhat letting up. I'll be there five to ten minutes top." She hung up and switched lanes speeding off. Brielle had managed to pull up in front of her condo building in under ten minutes. She texted the group chat, telling them that she was outside. Once she seen them coming out of the lobby doors, she popped the trunk. They placed the bags inside before slid in.

"Y'all made sure the door was locked?" They nodded and she pulled off in the direction of the post office. About twenty minutes later she was pulling through the parking lot. She parked and got out popping the trunk. She grabbed the bin shutting the trunk and walked towards the entrance of the building.

Pulling the door open she walked in and placing the bin on the counter. "Hey Ms. Jones!"

Brielle looked up. "Hi Mr. Johnson."

It took about fifteen minutes to scan every box. She paid and grabbed her receipt walking out of the door. Brielle returned to her car and got in.

"I don't give a fuck about none of that. You know what since you want to act delusional tell ya homeboy Jahiem to touch my line." Za'Keria spoke into the receiver before hanging up and throwing her phone across the seat.

Brielle gently pulled her seatbelt across her and looked at Kailani. Kai raised her hands up in a surrendering manner and shrugged. "Don't ask me nothing. I was dozing off and she started yelling."

Looking into the rearview mirror, Bri noticed Keria laughing to herself.

Bri shook her head putting the car in reverse and backed out of the parking spot. She pulled out and approached a red light. "Y'all hungry?"

They shook their heads.

"No, we ate the leftovers." Bri nodded and pulled over to a gas station. They all got out and walked inside. Bri went straight for the slush machine and fixed an extra-large green apple slush and grabbed a bag of jalapeño cheddar Cheetos. She grabbed a large core water from the cooler and walked towards the register.

"Kai, Keria. Y'all better come on if y'all want me to pay." The shuffled to the counter setting their things up there.

"Hi, is this all?" Brielle nodded.

"Yes, give me fifty on pump uhhh." She looked outside. "Pump five."

"Eighty-two dollars and eighty-two cent is your total." Bri pulled out hundred-dollar bill and passed it to the cashier.

"Seventeen eighty-one is your change." Kai and Keria grabbed both bags and follow behind their sister. Brielle unlocked the doors and set her cup in the cup holder. She popped her tank and pressed premium sliding the nozzle in the hole. It took about three minutes to fill up, Bri removed the nozzle putting back in its rightful place and got in the car.

"Stop calling me nigga. You are pissing me off and I do not like dat. I am about to go see my family and I do not need the negativity. I'll see you when I see you." Za'Keria hung up the phone and turned it off.

"You good Z?" She nodded her head.

Bri was unsure whether to ask again but she pulled her seatbelt across her and pushed the start button. "Y'all ready? Grab my phone and turn on Love Cycle by Toosii." She pulled out and made her way to the interstate.

"You got me stuck inside yo love cycle, I read your love bible." Kailani sung getting on snapchat. She recorded them captioning the video 'road trip'.

"We give the hood guidance, we keeping the hood smilin'."

"Nau'Jour know he fine asf with his peanut shaped head." Kailani busted out laughing.

"Z you down bad for that."

Brielle shook her head laughing and switched over to the fast lane. She sped up hitting about ninety on the dash.

Kailani smacked her lips. "Look at the nascar driver wannabe up here."

Brielle laughed. She was finna say something, but a phone ringing ceased that action. Kai looked in her lap. "It's Cameron."

"Answer." Kai slid the answer bar over, and his voice came through the speakers.

"Wassup Mama? You on the road yet?"

"Yes, I just passed through Palmer." Brielle switched to the middle lane decreasing her speed.

"Palmer? Gah damn girl. What are you doing? The dash?"

Kailani laughed. "Yes, yes she is."

"Shut up Kai and mind your business Cameron. I'm just trying to turn this five-hour trip into three."

"Shaking my head but be careful mama and let me know when y'all make it. I'm finna head to practice."

"Alright, be safe."

Kai hung up the phone once Bri finished speaking and placed it in the cupholder."I wonder what they got to talk to us about."

Bri shrugged her shoulders."Who knows, I just pray it's nothing negative."

Two hours into the drive Kai had managed to fall asleep right along with Keria. Bri saw the 'Welcome to Houston' sign and switched lanes getting off on her exit. She approached a stop light and turned left on green. She continued driving looking at all the familiar places.

She was Houston born and raised. A h-town hottie as they would say. This was home to her; did she miss it? Yes. Would she move back? No. It had good and bad memories, but the bad outweighed the good.

Brielle pulled up to the gated estate and waved at the guard. He buzzed her through only because she had car stick on her windshield with the name of the estate. She pulled through and drove to her second childhood home. She pulled up to the end of the driveway and punched in the security code. The gates came open and she drove through parking behind a white lifted ford raptor.

She shook her head knowing it belonged to her mama. She pushed the stop button unbuckling her seatbelt. Bri pushed Kai slightly and reached in the backseat and pushed Keria.

"Y'all wake up, we are here." They stretched and got out. Brielle grabbed her phone and popped the trunk before she stepped out. She walked around and grabbed her bookbag plus her duffle. Bri hit the lock button and walked up to the door.

As she was about to to put her key in, the door was opened. "Well, well, I guess y'all do remember where home is?"

Their father stood at the door in a pair of basketball shorts, no shirt, and some long Nike socks.

Za'Keria smacked her lips. "You going to let us in or what?"

"Bi- girl I almost said some. I don't even see how yo light ass is my daughter."

Brielle stifled a laugh and Za pushed passed him. He moved further out of the way letting the other two walk in. "Dakari stop playing with my child."

Their mama came from around the corner in some knee length socks, a large family reunion shirt that was swallowing her and a satin bonnet on her head.

Dakari mushed her head and kept walking. "Shut that shit up Ashley."

Brielle dropped her bags by the door, kicked her shoes off and walked into the living room sitting down. Kailani followed and laid her head on her father's shoulder.

"Sooooo what's the reason y'all had us come home?"

Ashley came into the living room with a box in her hand. She sat it on the table before walking towards Dakari sitting on his lap and pushing Kailani out of the way. "Because we miss y'all and one of y'all need to open the box."

Keria shrugged before opening the box, and once she realized what is in the box, she let out of ear-piercing scream.

"Damn girl. Going to bust my damn eardrums." Dakari mugged her while the other two sisters jumped up and looked in the box.

Brielle looked back at her mom and shook her head. "Y'all too old be playing pranks." Dakari smacked his lips.

"Stand up Ash." Dakari pulled her shirt up and a baby bump became very visible.

"Surprise!"
