in bed together, enjoying each other's bare embrace in the comfort of the male's home. Even after such a long time coming till the present day, their presence to one another always brought a giddy feeling to them individually.
"Say, I'a stay laid up in bed wit' you foreva' if I could..." Kentrell admitted, planting a kiss to his woman's lips for the millionth time that day. "...buried deep inn'is addictive shi' you call pussy."
Maeve sighed, "Stop talking about my lady part like it's a drug variety Kentrell."
"Shi' no drug come close to it though."
Maeve smiled with a blush and buried her face into Kentrell's neck. He licked his lips and stared up at their reflection in the mirror-like ceiling, taking in the way Maeve's skin glowed due to the baby she was carrying.
She was in her fifth month almost in the sixth and she'd never looked more sexier to Kentrell. The bits of weight she'd gained in certain areas and even to the sequential swell on her feet sometimes would make Kentrell swoon. It's safe to say he was hopelessly in love and might only know the half of it.
"Where you always wanted to go? Like visit on a vacation or sumn'?" Kentrell asked Maeve, absentmindedly twirling a tress of her natural hair around a finger.
Maeve pulled her head away from Kentrell's neck to look into his eyes, "Didn't know this pussy could make you wanna fly me out daddy."
Kentrell smacked his teeth aloud at her while she giggled. He said, "I'm not playing right na' mama, I'm forreal just tell me and we finna be on the next flight this Saturday."
"Well I've always like always wanted to go to The Bahamas but seems too cliche I don't know. But I'd love to drink coconut water straight from the coconut! I'm so thirsty right now thinking of it." She pouted slightly, "But Jamaica would be perfect, definitely there."
"I thought so too." They kissed and snuggled closer, if that was even possible. Just before they could slip into a peaceful slumber, Kentrell's phone vibrated against the nightstand. He grabbed the phone with his eyes shut and answered, "Aye hello."
"Ken-Kentrell! Please come over right now. They to-took Kacey. I can't find my son." Jania cried into the phone. Kentrell jolted up in a swift motion that alerted Maeve.
"Where you at?" Kentrell asked.
"In front of his da-daycare." Kentrell hung up to head into the bathroom and rinse himself.
Maeve in a confused state also left the bed to follow Kentrell into the bathroom. He remained silent as he wiped himself before reentering the bedroom, all while Maeve was on his tail in a cotton robe.
"What's the matter? Why are we getting dressed up?" Maeve touched his arm as he messaged a few necessary contacts in silence.
Kentrell was silent till he finished and Maeve waited patiently. He finally spoke, "Bitches grew balls enough to want war wimme', they fucking took Kacey."
Maybe it was the venomous manner he spat his words or the news itself or even both, that had Maeve shocked. But she could feel it deep inside of her and it's not the baby kicking— that the whole situation wouldn't end well.
"First it was me gettin' shot!" Kentrell exclaimed as he shoved a foot into his sweatpants, "And now my son got took!" He spat and pulled his white shirt over his head. "It's gon' be hella nigga dying today."

Maeve didn't need to be told twice, she also grabbed a shirt and biker shorts to put on. Not minding how she looked a hot mess, she followed Kentrell's trail into the garage and hopped into the car with him.
"Fuck yo' ass thought this was Maeve, getcho' ass back inn'at house right na'." Kentrell told her sternly. But she heeded not.
"Kentrell that boy is like my own too. I can't be seated at home while knowing he might be in danger—"
"Da fuck can yo' ass do to help, huh? You pregnant as fuck tryna' get involved with anything don't make no sense. I can't risk putting you, my daughter and Kacey in danger right na' just go back inside, I'll send Darajah over to you." Kentrell tried to reason with Maeve in the best way he knew how.
Maeve pouted and shook her head, "I'm going with you." Kentrell nodded with an 'Ok' before stepping out of the vehicle to go around it. He opened the car to bring out Maeve who was already trying to crawl into the backseat.
"I ain't playin' witchu Maeve, stop tryna be stubborn. Getcho' hardheaded ass our 'fore I drag you." Kentrell softly pulled Maeve out with his hold firm on her arm. "Make me hurt you."
Maeve got out with a pout and teary waterline, arms folded against her chest. Kentrell sighed, placing a wanton kiss on her forehead before wiping her tears with both thumbs. He knew she cared but he couldn't risk another child's safety and hers', he'd go crazy.
With no words said, Kentrell pulled off. The moment his car sped through the gates of his loft, Lulan drove up a bit more and smirked at the freeway she'd been given. Taking up her phone she brought it up to her ear and spoke, "Send the boy back, target has been met."
Rewind back to three hours earlier, in the residence of Leon. He was in the shower after an intimate session with Lulan, who had turned over half the powdered content of a Rinicin bottle into Leon's glass of henny, wiping away the little dust around the area.
"Baby, come join me." Leon hollered from the bathroom.
Lulan rolled her eyes to the ceiling and said in a sweet tone, "No baby, I wanna soak in the tub instead, ugh..my legs hurtttt."
Leon chuckled from the other side of the room, "Looks like I put in work as usual huh?"
"Mhmmm," Lies. He never made her feel sore whatsoever. Merely a six inch with lazy strokes, she scoffed.
Menacingly, Lulan watched her ex-boyfriend now about to become a dead man, choke on his own blood. Leon had stepped out of the bathroom and eventually took a sip of the poisoned alcohol, so he was merely seconds away from his end.
"You know with every interesting story comes a plot twist. And sadly for you, this is the catch of the story. You die, I kill Maeve and Kentrell becomes mine. Fairplay or is it...foul play." Lulan smiled. She was so smart no one could contend with what brewed in her malicious mind.
"Too bad for yo' ass Lee. That's for all the times I made yo' broke ass happy but you still cheated, I took you back and you would whoop my ass for no damn reason. Illiterate, lil' peewee having ass swine." Lulan spat before pressing her snicker clad foot against the dying man's stomach. He couldn't even scream.
She exited the apartment and took the car that once belonged to Leon, he'd gotten through a phony means but was now hers. Kacey was merely a distraction to lure all attention away from the main target, Maeve.

"Maeve?!" Silence.
"Maeve?!!" More silence. Kentrell's patience was running thin by the second. He'd arrived back at the house after Kacey was dropped on Jania's porch by the time she got home but coming home to an empty house was not what he expected.
Darajah said when she got to the loft, she found no one there. Kentrell started to think maybe she'd gone against his plea to stay put and followed him.
He was on the verge of going mad with his thoughts when he received a call, without checking the caller ID and ready to lash out he spat, "Say don't bother me right na—"
"Kentrell..." Maeve sobbed. He immediately perked up and tried to speak but another voice all too familiar spoke, "Hey daddyyy...oh I mean YB as you would always say it is to me."
"Lulan i'on know what the fuck it is you on but let Maeve go. She don't gotta be involved inn'is, tell me what you want." Kentrell tried to reason.
"It can't be discussed over the phone. I'll send you a location right now and if you try to play Captain Save-a-Ho wimme' then this heifer dies." The beep sound followed.
In a moment of being frantic Kentrell called Jania to inform her of his whereabouts and shared his location with her, just incase he needed backup she knew what to do.
Swiftly, Kentrell zoomed off to the spot and found himself at some rundown garage. He parked his car at the front and went inside to check for anyone but found no one. Then he received a message from Lulan's private number saying he should stay where he's at.
"Where the fuck is Maeve?" Kentrell barked immediately he saw Lulan at the hideout right next to the old garage. "Listen i'on know what the fuck you getting at wit' all this but quit fuckin' wimme' and I mean it."
"You must think I'm crazy for doing all this hm?" Lulan laughed and clapped her hands like what she said was funny. "We both just really want something and would anything to get it. You want Maeve and I want you. It's sad that I realized you were all I've wanted all this time but it's never too late."
Kentrell cringed as her dainty hands touched him and tried to shove her off, "Unt-unt don't do that. I'll have the two guys in the back end Maeve before I even touch the floor."
"A'ight so you want me huh? You got me," Kentrell clenched his jaw as she smiled. He grabbed her face and she leaned into him like he was going to kiss her but he didn't. "Buh' you gotta free Maeve."
Lulan scoffed and pushed him back. "News flash, the bitch dies cuz as long as she breathes you gon' keep loving her obese ass so no!"
Kentrell's patience was on the edge of being lost. He'd heard enough shit talk for one day. But he couldn't risk anything so he played along, "Let me see her then, I wanna be sure she really even here."
Lulan rolled her eyes and typed on her phone, not up to a minute later the door behind her opened and two men accompanied a crying Maeve out in a wheelchair.
She was restricted in and gagged with a duck tape. Tears poured down her cheeks even more when she saw Kentrell, who's fuse had already gone off in his head and would have choke-slammed Lulan if he didn't know what was at risk.
"Tsk tsk tsk, don't she look...pitiful to you daddy?" Lulan smiled running the cold barrel of loaded gun down her reddened victim's cheek. "Anyways..."
Just then sounds of gunshots were let off and both Lulan's henchmen were dropped like sacks of potatoes. Leaving her stunned for a second but she beat Kentrell to it and wheeled Maeve to her front.
Kentrell halted immediately with fright as he saw Maeve passed out on the wheelchair either from fear or shock.
"Aht! Step back nigga don't come any closer!" Lulan exclaimed pointing her gun to Maeve's head. Ben, Darajah and Jania had rushed into the building but stopped in their tracks when they saw the position Maeve was in.
"Lulan? I always knew you was a grimy ass ugly—"
"Bitch shut up! You'on know nothing but being an incestuous swine." Lulan spat to Darajah. "Now that the bafoonery is over, I'll kill this bitch and y'all baby then let you die miserable Kentrell. I gave you options but no, you had to be smart huh?"
"Lulan say we can talk 'bout this." Kentrell pleaded.
"Nah it's past that time honey, and you ungrateful idiot. Jania! This is what I get for helping yo' damaged ass right? Ok." Lulan chuckled bitterly.
Ben had managed to shoot her in the arm when she wasn't paying attention since they all surrounded the room, making her drop her weapon and screech out in pain.
Kentrell bolted to where his main concern was and wheeled her away from the injured girl. Kentrell was trying to unwrap the tape from around her along with Darajah while Ben went to drive the car closer. Jania had sighted when Lulan picked up her gun again and pointed it in both Kentrell and Maeve's direction discreetly, she knew it would be too late by the time she'd inform them so rather she jumped in front of them and took the shots.
"Jania!" Darajah screamed. Kentrell quickly emptied his own clip into Lulan leaving her dead and lifeless instantly. "Oh my God, Kentrell we need to get her to the hospital."
"N-No.." Jania coughed up a chunk of blood. "Don't bo-bother. I won't make it, ju-just please try to forgive me. I'm sorry. I tried to kill you that n-night and shot you." She managed to say through her clogging up throat.
"It's okay we gon' talk 'bout that when you get treated. Kacey needs you don't give up Nene." Kentrell was close to shedding a tear as he watched the woman he once loved on the brink of death, not even fighting for her life.
"I love him a-and you too." Were her last words before her eyes sealed shut for all eternity.
"Say the car parked out front— why the fuck Nene sleeping on the floor." Ben said as he approached until he saw the blood. "Nahhh...what the fuck?!"
"Lulan tried to kill me by gettin' into Nene head and it worked. She told me before she died." Kentrell told Maeve after she woke up. She'd passed out due to her blood pressure shooting up and shock castrates.
"I wish things didn't go the way they did. It's all my fault Kentrell. Lulan was my cousin, I brought all these upon you." Maeve said, her voice cracking as a wave of emotions hit her.
Kentrell shushed her and said, "It's all destiny mama. Sumn' I learned overtime in my life. It coulda' been worse so let's just thank God right na' and hope for better dassit." Maeve nodded and sniffed, she knew Kentrell was right and she'd just have to deal with the reality of things.
"I officially have two kids now, on the brighter side." Maeve looked to Kentrell from the hospital bed.
He nodded in agreement and intertwined their fingers, "There's never a true happy ending to any story but I hope our joy lasts long."
"Better days ahead and we'll always hold each other down through hard times."
They weren't perfect and they'd admit that, but neither was anyone on God's green earth. And so there you have it, the story of Kentrell and Maeve— polar opposites embarked on a similar journey. It was just the beginning.

Humanity Extinguished
I had the same nightmare again. The loss of my first life continues to haunt me, but now it aches like an old wound. A more grievous injury to my psyche was the losses yet to come and the inevitable hellscape I would return to again and again. Reincarnation is my curse. The lives themselves weren't all that bad. Losing people you cared about hurt and all, but even that pain was preferable to experiencing the nothingness between lives for months at a time. It was enough to drive anyone mad. Now I have to focus on breaking this horrible cycle. Thankfully I have all the time in the world. Trace is an average man driven by extraordinary circumstances in an indifferent and cruel world. His reincarnations give him a few key advantages but also take a heavy toll on him. He lives in a world where magic is uncommon and underpowered compared to the limitless physical adaptations you can acquire by getting your hands a little bloody. This story is one of hardship and terrible lows, but also monumental achievements and grand heights. The main character has flaws. While some of these flaws will fade with time, others will worsen. Thank you for taking the time to read my synopsis. I plan to release 2-3 chapters a week. Cover art is 'The Siege and Destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans Under the Command of Titus, A.D. 70' by David Roberts. This art is in the public domain.
