《Rogue Luna》Chapter 39

"So Derrick contract with my father was up. But my father would not sign it, he would never give me up to keep an alliance. Derrick pack member killed Cassie mother first. Then they killed my mother, while she was in human form. My father then order us to run away, using his alpha tone. I couldn't do anything but followed his order. He said he'll find me and kill anyone that help me. I don't want anyone hurt because of me." I said sobbing.
Kingston grabs my cheek. "I would never let him come close to you again. I will kill him for causing you this pain." He says while wiping the tears on my cheeks with his thumb. I smiled at him, nuzzling in his chest. Kieran got up again. Pacing back and forth. Everyone stares at him. "NO! I'M GONNA KILL THAT MUTT." Kieran roared. "He told me rogues attack the pack. He came to save the pack, but not in time, he also claim the rogues took my sister and Amina. Saying Amina was his mate. I then joined his pack earning my position as beta. But Derrick was power hungry, he kept attacking smaller packs, making them join his pack, or die. " Kieran said throwing his hands in the air frustrated.
"I can't believe I believe him, he killed my parents. My alpha and Luna." He turns and look at me. Guilt in his eyes, "it's not your fault, you thought he was your friend. Don't blame yourself." I said with a small smile. "I can't face you A. Knowing I help that monster out is killing me. With your permission alpha, I would like to leave. I need time to myself." He asked Kingston.
"NO! I just got you back Kieran!" Cassie yells out. "Kieran it's not your fault! I don't blame you." I said sobbing with Cassie. "Hey, hey, don't cry. I need time to forgive myself. I'm not proud of the things I've done being his beta. There was alot of blood on my hands." He said looking at us. Kieran was the only person I didn't call a brother.

I use to have the biggest crush on my bestfriend brother growing up. I mean you can't blame me, he was the hottest guy in school, a gentleman, meaning he wasn't a fuck boy, plus he was next in line as beta. When he turned 16 and he treated me the same, I realize I wasn't his mate. I let that crush go.. eventually. But he still looks hot. Not as hot as my mate. But close.
"If that's what you wish then, you can go." I turn to Kingston and gave him a scrowl. He shrugs his shoulder. "I'll be back within 2 month, the war will start then." He said looking at Kingston. "How do you know?" Kingston question raising an eyebrow. "He plan on attacking your pack in 2 months once you decline his request to become allied. I mean that was the plan when I was in his pack. He wanted to be number 1, he wanted to be the most feared werewolf. Your either with him or against him." Kieran spat out in disgust.
"You mind telling me why your father is working with Derrick?" Kieran asked. Making me grin a little. So I won't have to ask him later. Kingston turn towards Kieran.. "how do you know he's my father?" He questioned, while keeping his glare at him. Kieran chuckled, while raising his hands up surrendering. "Look there's alot that I know. But your father helping Derrick I'm unsure of. Mostly against his son and former pack." Kieran stated.
Nobody said anything for a few minutes. "Look I'm not here to pry or trying to get information to help Derrick. It's for my benefit. If I'm going against Derrick, I need to know my enemy. Unfortunately Derrick pack isn't the pack you all once know. His pack grew twice the size it use to be, due to all the new pack members. I wouldn't underestimate him. That mutt has a plan. He has alot of new allies as well." Kieran unloading a shit load of information.

"I can't trust you. You were his beta a couple of hours ago!" Kingston spat. Kieran shrugs. "Again by tomorrow I'll be out of this pack. There's no need to trust me. I'm here because of my sister and Amina. I wanna spend a little time with them before I leave." He said looking at Cassie and I.
It was dinnertime. We all decided that was enough talking. So we headed to the kitchen. After dinner Kieran, Cassie and I decided to go out for a walk to catch up. We walk up to ther pond. It was a beautiful night. The moon was bright as well as the stars. We layed down in the grassy area.
"Where would you be going?" I question Kieran. "Not sure, but I need time." He said. I nodded my head. "Kieran I just got you back! How can you leave already? Do you not care about me?" Cassie ask sitting up. "Hey! I'm not going to die, I'm coming back to see you guys, nothing will stop me. Not even Kingston." Kieran said with a smirk. Causing me to shoot him a dirty look for calling my mate by his first name, and thinking he can take my mate on. Well maybe he can, Kieran isn't the Kieran I use to know. He's colder, stronger, and he intimidates me, but of course I'm not gonna admit that to him.
"I need my brother. So does your...." Cassie says biting her bottom lips. We both got sat up now. "I'm sure Noah doesn't need him" I chuckled. "No Noah doesn't, but his niece or nephew will." She blurted. "WHAT YOUR PREGNANT!" I shouted. "Surprise" she said with a half smile. Kieran got up. Started pacing. I turn to my bestfriend. "I'm so happy for you!" I said giving her a hug.
"Kieran?" Cassie called out stopping Kieran from pacing back and forth. Kieran walks, "your my baby sister and always will be, mother or not. You'll be a great mother" he said with a big smile. Kieran big heart is still there somewhere deep down. We walked back to the packhouse.
"Does Noah know?" I ask Cassie. She shook her head. "No, I'm not sure it's the best time to tell him you know with this war crap going on" she says making me frown. It was my fault.
Cassie caught on "its not your fault A., Derrick is power hungry remember what my brother said." She says grabbing my hand. I nodded and gave her a fake smile. But couldn't help but feel like it was my fault.

City of Champions Online
Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment. The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
