That night was cold, as it should always be. But he clutched to his chest where his heart was after feeling something burning inside that it hurts.

"Your majesty.. Are you okay?" The attendant in glasses that was near him asked.

"Do I seem like I'm okay?" He coldly reply not to make the pain obvious, but as it takes any more longer it still just hurts more.

"Why.. does it hurt?" He murmured but enough for Victor, the attendant, to hear.

'I don't really feel pain, just why?'

'It's strange, his majesty can't feel pain. Unless, that child's feeling pain or in danger too.'

"Your majesty you can go and rest—" before Victor could finish his words. He saw none on the seat, and some papers are flying.

He removed his glasses and massaged his eyebrows while realizing what really happened.

"D-mn. I knew this'll happen."

'Stay safe your majesty.'

At the northern part of Hanlon, where cold isn't new and the sight of the sun to not be able to peek in there for moments isn't new either. A huge explosion of light was witnessed.

But before the explosion could happen, the emperor of Hanlon, his red eyes glints as he looked through the window.

He felt his presence, his brother, is making a move. He grinned as he had that thought, and later on a huge explosion of light happened in there.

"That dmn golden eyes is still alive huh? Now that you've made a move, you can't escape what has to happen now." He mumbled.

Many of the people of Hanlon, thought that it may be a blessing from their Goddess Alina, giving her blessings through the end of the year and for another start.

Many clasp their hands, closed their eyes, and prayed to the Goddess. It was all full of human desires and only few has the pure prayer.

But little did they know, instead of a blessing it was a hellish nightmare that's happening in the northern Hanlon. At the exact place of Hillville Village.

At the same time of Leione's smile and blood dripping out from her mouth, Derick losing his composure and is still regaining his energy and the knights in black with Hanlon's crest.

Charlotte lost it, her sanity can't handle it anymore. She began to grab her own hair, kneeled and cried. And little did she know, she was emitting a great power out of her.

Derick also felt it, the source of the power she's emitting and it wasn't good. Anger, despair and insanity. He felt it, and before he could do anything.

It spread anywhere of the north, from afar it could've looked only a light but on the surface the light is full of awry black dusts and bluish too.

Most of the knights grasps their neck, to regain their breath. As the light reaches them, they began to lose life energy and became thin corpses.

Before the light could go anywhere, a great presence came. Suppressing the unmatured power that's lurking around due to unstable emotions.

He himself doesn't know what he's really doing there, he only held the child on his arms and used his power to absorb it, that shouldn't have happened but it's the only choice he could do to stop the mess.

He could feel it again, the side effects or consequences of using that magic.

"Before I could lose it.. I must." He mumbled as he was staring on the unconscious child in his arms.

He could felt the sleeping energy that bursts out earlier that is now in stable condition, but only for now.

It could be any later that it'll go berserk again if not controlled well.

Other than the blue thing, he could felt a faint green too.

'What kind of child is this..? Emitting both blue and green..'

Derick, a moment after now regained his full strength. He immediately go through the man holding the child that seemed to be lost in thought.

"Geez, George. I told you not to be near that child." Derick was about to get Charlotte out of his hand when he dodged it and held to the child tightly.

Derick was dumbfounded.

"Did you? And stop calling me George when you're in that form." He said emotionless as he started walking through the pile of blood and where the source of the child's anger came from.

But Leione's body is nowhere to be found.

Derick just only realized that he was still in the 12 year old child form.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say. "

Charles only looked at him and didn't said anything anymore.

"It seems this memories I had of this child will only be back this only time right?" Charles asked as he put his few amount of life energy to the child on his hand. The child's in pain because of what happened and her life energy's getting awry.

"Yeah, if you keep doing that. This time, it might be the last." Derick said while he came back to his true form, his long silky black hair waved through his back. His sharp golden eyes are emitting greatness, every inch of his form is a perfection. He was flawless but now it isn't the case anymore.

After putting George's life energy to the child, he hugged her. Like a father who had lost his child and wife for so much time, there's longing on that hug.

Derick just turned his head to the side. Even though he wanted to help him again, so bad. But his incomplete power can't do anything as he had used it a lot before. And this time might only be the last time for them, but since Charlotte made things different from before.

'It might get different this time.' Derick thought as he gazed upwards.

"Oh, master." A woman in maid outfit came, she had very similar features with Leione. And together with her was Cloud and on Cloud's arms was the sleeping Lin. Terrence and the others are on the back.

And when they saw Charles, they immediately kneeled down.

"Report."

"We had rescued some of the villagers but only few died, also Terrence's companion died."

Terrence and Yuria are known to be great duo in missions but this tragic fate came. Terrence lost his companion, and his one and only love.

'If I just considered that choice, she could've been..' Terrence thought painfully.

Charles only nodded and didn't speak more.

"How much time left Derick?" He was talking about the time he could spend with his child.

"Before the sun goes up."

There's only a few hours left before the sun will go up. Even though the sun in the north is always late, he can't avoid the real time of it's appearance.

He hugged the child again and started walking. He stopped for a moment.

He had used most of his power on that teleportation, and now he can only rely on carriages.

"Lets go home now. Charlotte." He mumbled to the sleeping child.

The child on his arms are sleeping soundly, as if just being in his arms is already home.

"Start the preparations to depart, we shall leave before the sun goes up."

Unless, those Hanlon bastards might get to them.

Since they had properties on Hanlon in secret, preparations to depart became easier for them.

Charles cherished his last moments with his child, talking to the sleeping child about his boring life but still it could put a mild but warm smile on his face.

On the time to depart, he didn't get on the same carriage with Charlotte. Since he might do something to her if he would lose his memories. He let Leia, the expressionless maid with similar features to Leione as they were twins, to take care of Charlotte.

He kissed her forehead for the last time and bid goodbye.

On the preparations for the depart, some of them is arranging and cleaning some things in the north. To make it look like that the cause of the mess there is only because of monsters.

It was a hellish day of nightmare for the last day of that year. And tomorrow, will be a great new start. If it really was for everyone.
