《My Overprotective Brothers》Chapter 44

"Ammmbbbi!"
"Princesssss!"
"AMBER!"
"Wha- what the heck Isaac?!"
"It woke you up didn't it?" Isaac said innocently whilst doing a big yawn, making Dylan's face scrunch up in disgust.
I rub the sleep from my eyes and sit up, viewing the scene in front of us. All our legs are tangled up, Dylan's colourful pink and grey socks are making my eyes go fuzzy and all our hair is a mess but of course, Dylan's looks flawless as always.
Jason is rubbing his tense forehead and scrunching his eyes shut, opening them and removing the blanket covering his naked chest.
"Damn those abs! I swear if we weren't brothers I definitely would..." Dylan trailed off whilst gazing at Jason's eight-pack glowing shamelessly, making Dylan almost drool with temptation.
We all look at each other weirdly and turn to an innocent looking Dylan, still mesmerised with Jason's naked chest.
"Dude that's wrong on so many levels," Grey said with a deep frown directed at Dylan. We all nod our heads in agreement, making Dylan look at us with confusion.
"How is that weird?"
"You basically said that if you weren't related to Jason, you would try and go out with him..." Isaac spat with pure disgust at the incestuous comment made by Dylan.
"Is it weird that I find Jason's body attractive?" Dylan asked innocently.
"YES!" We all shouted, knocking Dylan back with our forcefulness. Jason starts pulling the blanket up higher and grabbing his t-shirt slowly, looking very uncomfortable and weirded out by Dylan's confession.
"Oh well...sorry not sorry." Dylan said, grabbing his belongings and crawling out the fort, leaving all of us scared and worried for Dylan's sanity and Jason's safety.

"Someone get this boy some concealer his under-eye bags are bigger and bolder than my fashion sense!" Dylan exclaimed with his mouth full of fruit loops, examining Grey's dark under-eye bags. Grey looked suddenly self-conscious and slumped back on his stool, covering the dark skin under his eyes.
"You know Grey is self-conscious, don't make him feel any worse!" I shout at Dylan and his no-filter mind that can hurt a lot of people's feelings without knowing it. I give Grey a hug and whispered that he looked fine, he smiled at me then kissed the side of my head, thanking me and continuing eating his cereal.

For as long as I can remember, Grey has had body dysmorphia. I sometimes catch him looking in the mirror with tears in his eyes, looking at his stomach and the marks on it. As a kid, Grey was quite overweight and gained pounds very easily. He would be bullied daily and made fun of because of his weight. I remember times Jason would tell me that Grey would run home from school because of what the popular boys have said about him. I was too young to fully understand what he had been through, as he is seven years older than me and the bullying started in middle school.
This is why Grey is now really into cooking and becoming a chef, specialising in healthy foods and working towards opening a restaurant and selling tasty food that has minimal calories. Sounds great to me but I still worry about his feelings inside that he keeps locked away. I always try and encourage him to open up to me, but introverted people with a lot of self-hate, body dysmorphia various mental conditions know, that it isn't as easy as you think.
I remember the times I would walk into the kitchen to see my parents crying over what Grey has been through that day and how he has punished himself, cutting his stomach fat and carved words with a knife that spell vile things like "Worthless" "Fat" and "Ugly". He is getting much better now, but his mental and physical scars will never heal completely.
Grey is an old closed book that you need to do a lot dusting to finally get to see his true colours.
My mind snaps away from the sad thoughts and focuses back on the sugary cereal, talking to my brothers about random things that are on our minds.
"Hey, shall we play 'Never have I ever'?" Dylan suggested whilst clapping his hands together like a psycho, earning huffs and grunts from my brothers.
"Sure!" they can never say no to me...
"Fine," Issac grumbled out and ripped the earphones out his ears.
"If we haven't done the thing said, just shake your heads 'No'. But if you have done the thing said, you have to take a shot of orange juice!" Dylan said excitedly, filling little shot glasses with the sour juice.

We all grabbed our shot glasses and waited for Dylan to go first. He smirks and taps his chin playfully, thinking of something to start off with.
"Never have I ever...Cheated on somebody?" Dylan started off with. I immediately shook my head and looked around at my brothers. Jason shook his head, Grey shook his head but Isaac reluctantly took the shot of juice.
We all collectively gasped and looked at him with a mixture of disgust, surprise and disappointment.
"Look, the girl was a slut anyway and banged the whole basketball team!" Isaac defended whilst refilling his shot glass. Something tells me he is going to need a lot more juice.
We all got over it and resumed back to the game.
"Isaac it's your turn," Dylan exclaimed. Isaac rubbed his stubble and thought over his question.
"Never have I ever...used somebody else's toothbrush in the house," Isaac said smugly, shaking his head and leaning back on his stool.
I once again shook my head smugly and looked around. Wow, this is an easy game! Being innocent definitely has its perks.
Dylan shook his head and pushed away his glass. We looked over and saw Jason and Grey visibly pale and gulp loudly.
"WHO. WAS. IT?" Dylan gritted out at Grey and Jason, already disgusted with their actions but worried about who's toothbrush they have diseased.
Everyone watched carefully and was waiting on edge for their answers, but it turns out we didn't need verbal answers because both Jason and Grey, turned their heads slowly in Dylan's direction, looking at him guiltily but scared shitless at the same time.
"WHAT THE F*** GUYS? SERIOUSLY! WHY ME?" Dylan roared, looking completely disgusted and grossed out at the same time. Jumping out of his chair and scrubbing his mouth out with hot water and soap, his face was bright red with anger and betrayal from his dearest brothers, betraying him in the worst possible way.
"Look I didn't know it was yours because mom changed our brushes and she didn't tell me which brush was mine!" Grey defended, giving his cute puppy eyes to Dylan to try and get off the hook. Dylan sighed but then turned his head quickly to a still petrified Jason that is fidgeting in his stool.
"Well...what is your excuse big brother?" Dylan snarled with a murderous look in his eyes.
"Well I came home drunk one night and I wanted to brush my teeth before bed to get the rotten taste of tequila out my mouth. Anyway, I grabbed a random brush and used it, not knowing it was yours. Sorry man." Jason said quickly, watching Dylan's face soften at their reasons and seemed to let them off, I was defiantly surprised he let them go so easily, but this is Dylan, who know what is going on in that head of his...
"Well, I'm defeatedly burning my toothbrush after this..." He mumbled to himself and sipped on his juice.
We decided too many damaging secrets will be revealed if we kept going so we decided to continue it another time. We all finished our cereal and got ready for the day, Grey helped me in the shower and Dylan picked out and dressed me in my outfit for the day.
We all raced down the stairs once again and grabbed our coats, getting ready for a day we have not been looking forward too for a while now.
Going down to the police station to make my final full statement against Finnick and finally getting my lawyer, to defend and give proof of my damaging accusations against Finn in court. It is going to get very messy...
*****
Ooh, serious things are going down soon!
I know you're probably not going to reveal this but I will ask anyway... Has anyone used the wrong toothbrush in your house?
Have you ever cheated on someone? (I really hope I don't see any comments saying 'yes' to this!)
Who is your least favourite brother and why?
Leave your answers in the comments so we can all relate and discuss why we are awful human beings.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

The only things standing in my way are nature itself, a bunch of strange floating boxes, and a group of crazy powerful creatures known as the forest queens. Sounds pretty simple right? It might be if it weren't for the fact that I have absolutely zero memory, but hey at least I know my name. Also apparently my enemies aren't only inside the forest. And most importantly can I figure out who I am and what's going on? I'm not sure but I'm going to try. Hey everyone I'm fairly new to writing novles and this is my first time ever putting my work on a site like this one. I hope you enjoy the story and would appreciate your feedback. I would ask that you read through at least a couple of chapters before leaving a rating. I know I have some trouble with grammer and how I structure some of my sentences and while feedback on that is appreciated what I would value most is feedback on the story as a whole in terms of how the plot works and if you are enjoying it or not.
