“Hey, Good evening ” he greeted with his lips glittering and I didn't know what or how to respond, i was so tired of this guy and his 'NOTICE ME!!!!' kind of dressing.
I nod at him waiting for him to exit but it seemed he just qualified for a starring contest.
“Come in, I remembered that I forgot something at the provision store. I want to get it back.” he said much to my regret but I still entered and seeing his finger on the first button, I just nod in agreement and he pressed it.
I knew I was in a deep mess because, he was going to raid my still water mind with conversations that wasn't going to help the Republic of Korea but because he could turn out as my company's customer tomorrow, I would just be calm and bear it.
“Thanks for helping me out that night. ” he began, huh I knew it!
'Nods' at this point I felt that I was representing my whole race when questioning why televisions hasn't added to elevators.
“How was work? ” he inquired and the 'work' gat his lips looking like a disco ball. I won't escape this one... URGH!!! How much do they pay this guy???
“Fine, thank you. ” I responded regretting why I kept my phone inside.
“Have you eaten yet? ” he posed. This guy ain't gon' give up, is he?
“About to.. ” calm down girl, you're representing your whole black race, be nice, be nice cause Uncle Santa's nice.
I knew I was getting on being rude because this guy didn't look like he was gonna be quiet soon.
“Oh me too, I bought some things but I forgot it at the store where I bought it. ” he lowered his voice at the end of this unwanted answered but 'why is he looking... so embarrassed though? ' cause nobody cared!!
"I didn't ask but.. why would you forget... You know what? never mind." I gave up, this guy was just worth me not caring..
“Oh?! ” he shyly sounded interested, “I first bought them on my way home but I got a call from work so I paid and ask them to keep it for me” he explained like it was my business to know,
"Ok, he's not a jobless goblin after all. Hmm. ” I reasoned but at this moment, I needed reason(s) to avoid this guy. So, I just smiled and faced my business but no,
“Art, I paint... I'm an artiste,” he continued.. 'Oh god.... But why?' i internally groaned behind the smiles.
'Did you say art? Paint? Say no more, Mr.' I thought immediately as I looked at him from head to toe reviewing his anger stimulating colour combination on my mind.
“I sketch, I'm into photography and few other things artiste do. ” he commented when he saw my reaction towards his clothes,
“Following your passion I see. ” I chirped in looking at his shimmering silver lip stick.
“Yeah, I have loved pictures since I was little, either by drawing, painting or photography, I love how colors affect us as humans..... ” he was busy newscasting and I was scanning him from head to toe.
He went on talking nonstop and I was just thinking and correcting his colour blind combination not listening to a word he was saying.
“... and since then, I decided Art was my calling. ” he ended when we got to the entrance of the provision store. I opened the door and breathed in the air of relieve. He talked till we got to the store?!

I took the hamper and began shopping, and because he was a talker, he continued not even caring that wasn't interested. I couldn't believe that with one phrase he could spill the secrets of the CIA and FBI at a go, without stammering or even mincing words.
“I have gotten my package, Are you done? ” I turned to see him smiling like a... Don't say it!
“Almost...” I responded when I picked the last flavored milk off the shelf while trying to hide the laughter.
“Hey, Vivian I was wondering why I haven't seen you today. ” Eun Ji smiled when she I came to the counter, Dong Yi smile was always contagious till now.
“Good evening Eunji, I'm fine and you? ” I joked rolling my eyes with a smile.
“You're welcome... ” she told a customer making me smile wider,
I guess you could say Eunji and I were clique now; I couldn't be more happier just seeing they both had so much in common, Dong Yi and Eunji.
I got to the counter to pay for all I bought only to realize I had forgotten my purse, really?! And Goblin noticed it and decided to pay for it,
“I owe you one, thanks ” I smiled appreciatively at him before I caught Dong Yi.. Oops sorry, EunJi ogling him, he's attractive to you??
“No, I think it settled now, ” he said confidently with his eyes fixed on my face before he went ahead to pay. I said goodnight to Eunji and we left,
“ I can't believe I left my card inside, are you sure you don't want me to return your money?? Because I don't know, you might need it. ” I suggested trying to shake his attention off me.
“I'm serious, it's okay. ” he stood in front of his door as I walked to mine.
“Well thanks and have a good night. Goblin,” I said to him as he punched his code making him stop and turned to look at me,
“Wait?! What?! Goblin? How did I earn that?? Wait don't tell me... Your chocolate... ” he bowed his head in laughter while I nod in agreement to his realization.
“ha! Genius.. ” I complimented with a genuine smile as I fixed the key into the key hole,
“I'm sorry for that. Next time, I'll let the lobbyist eat it. You never heard it from me. ” he whispered joking.
“Huh?” I quietly laughed.
“Thanks for paying for my dinner though.” I appreciated after unlocking the door,
“No, thanks for allowing me pay, Good night Vivian ” he smiled at me,
“Wait, how did you... oh, at the store. Good Night, Ha Joon..” I entered as he responded with a good night. Why respond man?
Ok, I may have over exaggerated, he wasn't so bad, Gentleman 101. He's first class upper, he has a career, that's good.
We had been all greet-y with each other. A good morning, good evening and good night had been bettering our door to door neighbour relationship.
From exchanged of greeting to exchange of numbers because of emergency, I knew the code to his room and had once visited his work place.
It's not what yah thinking, he forgot his working tools and it was a Saturday and I was free that day, so quit! I reached for my purse and took out my phone and the time was 8:50pm which meant it was dinner time.
I was offloading what i got from the Store when I saw the fish sticks I had forgotten to give him, he forgot what he returned to the store to get, with me.

'Knock knock' I stood but no answer came from his room. I knew his pass code but it would be rude to enter without his knowledge.
'Knock knock' I waited but still no response, what the heck was he doing? After this last knock, it would be a good night.!
'Knock kn... ' the door flew unexpectedly open with my clenched fist supposedly knocking on the door, landing on his bare chest with the force meant for the hard door.
“Ow! ” he winced holding his chest with pains obvious in his face,
“Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I couldn't stop my hand, I'm so so sorry.” I apologized as I tried placing pressure on the burning skin.
“Are you related to Anthony Joshua? Or Muhammad Ali? That could've reset my bone.. Ow ow ow. ” he stood upright still holding his chest in pain.
“Hmmm.. Ha Joon? ” I called his attention when I felt my hand heating up,
“Yea.. ah? and here you are looking so fragile...” still wincing with pain
“You... can let go of my hand now. ” I requested not surprised when we both realized his trick was so wisely executed. He laughed a you got me before letting go,
“ You're looking for me? ” he asked after letting go.
“Yes, I came to give your fish sticks you forgot with me... ” I answered raising the polythene bag to him but he didn't take it.
“I don't eat fish. ” he said scratching his head like a high school buy in love,
“Then, why buy this lot? ” I asked perplexed
“I saw you smiling at them so...I thought.. ” he turned his eyes the other way, looking caught.
“Huh? Oh, thank you. So that means I'll have to start thinking before I smile?! ” I slowly retracted my hand.
“No, that's not what I... ” he argued raising his head to look at me,
“I'm kidding... Thanks a lot” I calmed him before leaving his door step,
“Vivian? ” he called, so what now, first day you heard name it's already a word?
“Hmm...” I turn to looke behind me,
“Hmmm.... There this ah... place that I humm... want to try out... and I feel comfortable with you around, so.... ” he said scratching his head, confusing innocent Lil me,
“Oh, where's that? And what kind of place is it?. ” I asked turning to him fully with my hands on my hip,
“Around Hong Dae area and It's a open place.. Please don't ask further.. I don't want to lie, but I assure you it's a decent place...” he pleaded and I didn't want to push,
“Cool”. 'It wouldn't kill to so, cool. I thought as I replied...
O. M. G! This place was beautiful right from the exterior, you would know. Yes, one more point for him, he had good taste. This place was beautiful and cozy, I mentally promised to come back here with Yeong Su.
This restaurant was beautified with colorful graffitis and garlands that made the place lively with the lightings adding to the beauty. A place for selfie, any corner was perfect for photoshoot.
“This is beautiful, since when did you start coming here? ” I asked as he found us a table and led the way,
“Since I knew of the place, what do you like about here? ” he answered me as I followed behind,
“The ambience, colours, lightning, the decorations just everything about it. The decorator or decorators should have an award for this.
How come I didn't know about here? I have to come here again with my friends. ” I saw a table close to a particular graffiti and choose the table closer.
“I'm not trying to impress you... well, I am just not desperately.. but this place is one of my works.. I painted every graffiti you're seeing and loving... ” he said smiling brighter than the light that shone over his head.
I looked at him admiring his dressing that wasn't adviticing the paint company today. Wait, I also noticed that he kept his hair, but i had always seen him with short...
Where those wigs?! Is this even his hair? It seemed like it, with the bun held up with some strands falling behind. He was looking like a trouble maker in a Chinese manga, at the same time looking cute like a Lady and, well he's the artiste.
“Really?! I didn't know you are a corporate artist, these are beautiful by the way. Why didn't you paint something relating to the restaurant like food or drinks, but you painted.. what that? 'Life is a coffee and we are the Barristers ” I read from the wall
“Yeah, What do you think it means? Hmmm?” he inquired just when a waiter came over and took our orders while I stared at the graffiti.
“Well, it would be better if I hear from the artist him self, please do me the honour. ” I folded my hand leaning back on the chair giving him my full attention.
“Some people say Life make us into what we are but I'd rather say, life is what we make of it.” he philosophized looking around smiling at the work of his hands,
“Why do you say so? ” I felt there was more to these words and his expression gave it away,
“I just feel like that, you know, everyone has their own share of experiences, but I'm glad you like it here, we should come here again, If you want to, that is...” he said looking at me hopefully, 'Is he trying to get me out again... Man, your train's got no brake!'
“Well, Let's see how it goes. Goblin. ” I smiled sitting properly as our order arrived.
I couldn't imagine how talented he was, every painting I was seeing I loved it and Yeong Su's birthday was close, how about giving him a portrait? I was certain he would love it...
Every where we visited was better than the previous. I had not walked around like this for a very long while because of my busy schedule, I had not even stopped for once to take a break to see places and eat everything or do what I loved but thankfully, Goblin brought me out.
From the coffee shop to restaurants down to art galleries just every where he had worked the interior, which were breath taking. Among the list of things I wanted to do when I got to Korea, was partying, clubbing, meeting new friends and of course visiting every corner but, I was sure that I didn't even open those pages since I stepped foot in the country.
It was night already and the streets was still bustling with live, Hong Dae was sure the Foreigners Cove it reminded me of the local market at Joeseon.
“I am thinking of owning a store near by, around. ” I watched his fingers point to direction which I followed and saw a shoe store situated.
“Oh, that's a good idea, and what will you be doing? Artistry or... Photography?" I asked sitting down on a bench,
“I haven't taught about it but those are fabulous ideas. " he smiled into the night; wait you weren't planning on doing your skills there,
I had noticed that when he smiled, he'd do it in my direction but when his eyes moved some where else it would fade. Was he flirting with his smiles? Not that it was working but....I saw just saying.
He suddenly stopped and checked his watch like he just remembered something, “Its almost eight, come I have something to show you. ” he grabbed my hand and led me through a crowd of people till we got to a quiet street in front of a wall that reeked of fresh paint.
I began to question why we walked so fast and far just to look at some dark empty wall with few people in the street.
“Hmmm. Ha Joon, why are we... ” I turned to see him looking steadfast on his watch,
“Five, four, three and now! ” he pointed to the wall with his fingers like a gun, which carried my attention back to the wall.
The dark wall began to emit light slowly to show off the pictures drawn on it.
“Wow. This is amazing. Did you do this? ” I couldn't believe it that he kept surprising me. The pictures turned to be my portrait dancing to the music supposedly playing on my headphone.
I patiently watched as the painting continued to unfold, the dress it wore was exactly the one she's putting on.
How? When did he paint this one? I saw him smiling through the corner of my eyes, staring directly at me. Yet knowing that if I turned my head would be facing him with little or no space between us, I turned to face him with a smile on my face.
“How.. Did you do this? ” I was moved. I watched as his smile grew wider and brighter as he went closely behind me, puts his hands over my eyes and steered me to another angle.
“And this is the best part. ” he said lifting his hands as I opened my eyes to see another picture of me in hanbok with braids looking lost in laughter and joy.
I knew I looked beautiful when smiling but I couldn't believe I was this beautifully charming.
People had gathered round to see the newly painted wonder and were taking pictures.
“This was the first contract I had. I was asked to draw something new from a fresh angle that no one has ever done, luckily for me, you spoke longer than usual... ” he laughed at his own words while she just stared in awe.
“You drew my face on a whole street? It's beautiful. I have never seen any thing like it. I feel.... honoured. Do artistes name their projects like detectives do? What is the name of this project? ” continued to stare at this beautiful street filled with my portraits.
I looked around to find the people that gathered was more than before.
“Well, I tried calling it concussion.. But... ” he trailed my eyes to see people gathering and still gathered, all smiling and taking pictures happily..
Happiness, the same feeling she brought, he returned his gaze to her and saw are smiling even when her eyes hanged on to his.
“Really? Concussion? More like obsession... ” I meant to mutter inaudibly but he heard and laughed while directing my attention to a little portion under the painting where something was scribbled.
“Obsession...” I laughed at the written words. 'You even think so'.
"I knew you're going to say so...” It had been a while I had felt happiness this crazy.
This reason her happiness that felt so close and a million miles away at the time, found rest in her heart was because just when she thought she would never feel this happy, he came along in his unique way and brought colours with him to her monochromatic life. This colours, this colours that made her life beautiful and meaningful, she planned on going to keep them for a life time.

Erind x Deen Alternate Reality Spin-Off of REND
Main Story: REND Due to popular demand of readers of REND, I'm writing a non-canon spin-off to pair Erind Hartwell, the main character, and Amber Deen Leska, (probably) the most popular side character of the story. I separated this from the main story because a romantic type of relationship between these two is not possible there. It'll be mostly light-hearted, slow progression of Erind and Deen's relationship, will mostly be fluffy interaction with maybe some adult scenes here and there.
