《The Nerd who cried Bad Boy》fifty nine

"So the everything's ready?" I asked, staring at the pink, glittery decorations and the pink lights shinging across the room.
"Your mom's ready. Ha!" Chase laughed and patted my shoulder. I shook my head smiling. "I'm kidding."
It was the next day and we were at Bree's house. Bree's mother was out with her friends and would be sleeping in a hotel. Bree was out with Aeri and Emma and would probably be back at 10pm.
Aeri said she would text me when they would be returning to Bree's house.
The house was already crowded with guests that we had invited. I searched for Veronica but I didn't see her and I had asked people if Veronica was coming or if she was here: No.
The gang including Marcus and Aaliyah came as well and they had helped me with the decorations.
"I'm definitely getting a '7 rings' vibe here," Aaliyah said and I smiled, nodding.
"I don't know about Bree but I would like this birthday party, I mean damn," Erik said then looked at me.
"Pink makes me look sexy... right?" Cameron asked a random girl and she stared at Cameron before turning around and walking through the crowd.
Cameron rolled his eyes,"Bitch." He walked towards me and wrapped his arm around Aaliyah's shoulder. "So when is this Bree girl coming? The pizza is getting cold."
"She's supposed to be here in five minutes," I said after I looked at the time on my phone. "Wait, I need to tell everybody something." I pushed though the crowd and stood by the stairs which had a few people on it.
"Hey, everyone!" I shouted but no one paid attention. "Guys!" I shouted again but no one heard me. "Guys!"
Sam and Kendall stood beside me and saw me struggle. They looked at the crowd simultaneously then looked back at me.
"Please help." I sighed.
Sam and Kendall nodded and looked at the crowd. "Guys," they said in their normal voice, simultaneously, and one person heard them.
"Hey guys! Malik and Sanders want to say something," the person shouted and everyone kept quiet and looked at us. Sam and Kendall looked at me and I frowned.
Sam and Kendall only spoke in their normal voice to get everyone's attention but I had to scream my lungs out but no one heard me.
"Hey guys, I'm Alyssa Heart, if you may or may not know," I said.
"Actually... we didn't know," Chase said from the crowd and some people chuckled. He earned a high-five from Cameron and I narrowed my eyes at them.
"Anyway, I want to thank you all for coming here and the reason I created this party was to... celebrate Bree's birthday," I said.
"But wasn't her birthday... months ago?" someone asked from the crowd.
"Yes, I know that but I feel guilty for ruining her birthday before," I said. "So when Bree comes in, we all scream 'Happy Birthday' okay?"
My phone vibrated and I took it out from my hoodie pocket. It was a message from Aeri:

"Turn the lights off! Bree just parked in this driveway, hurry bitche--" I paused when everyone looked at me when I almost finished my sentence. I awkwardly smiled and the lights went off and it was dark.
"We are walking to the front door!" Aeri spoke loudly from outside the house.
"Why are you talking like that?" I heard Bree say and the front door was opened by Bree. I saw her silhouette by the front door and she was probably confused as to why it was dark.
She searched for the light switch and it went on.
"Happy Birthday, Bree!" Everyone shouted and pink glitter was thrown on Bree. Bree froze and stared at everyone cheering in shock. "What's going on?" she asked.
"Your birthday is going on, that's what!" Cameron said and blew a party horn at Bree's face.
"Okay, calm down, buddy," Ian said as he pulled Cameron away from Bree.
"My birthday? My birthday was months ago, what's going on?" Bree repeated while everyone stared at her.
"Bree, the last time it was your birthday party, I ruined it. And I'm sorry, I caused everyone to dislike you and you turned miserable... because of me. And I don't want anyone to be miserable because of me," I told her.
Bree slowly nodded.
"So I set up this new birthday party for you, we brought you presents, your favourite DJ, and made it a 7 rings vibe. Your mother told me you like Ariana Grande," I said.
"Who doesn't," The boys said and Bree chuckled. She looked around smiling.
"You do know my favourite DJ is David Guetta right?" Bree asked with a raised eyebrow.
I nevrously chuckled,"Does it count if the random DJ's name is David?"
Bree chuckled and nodded,"Yeah, thanks."
"Woo! Let's get this party started!" someone shouted from the crowd and everyone cheered and the music started. I smiled and shook my head.
"Thank you, Alyssa. This was really nice of you to do this," Bree said and hugged me.
"My pleasure, have fun." I smiled. I turned around but Bree called me again. "What?"
"Is... Veron--" she sighed. "Is Veronica here?"
I hadn't seen Veronica yet that day and that had me worried. I furrowed my eyebrows,"I--"
"Bree!" I heard someone shout. That someone was Veronica. "Bree!" Veronica appeared through the crowd. She elbowed her way through until she saw Bree. Her mouth dropped open and she stared at Bree for a few seconds before almost looking like she wanted to cry. Veronica wrapped her arms around Bree's torso tightly, hugging her as she sobbed.
Bree hugged her back tightly and shut her eyes as tears fell down her cheeks.
"Bree Keene, I missed you," Veronica whispered.
"I missed you too," Bree said, her voice shaky.
Veronica pulled away. "I'm so sorry for the things I said. I did.. mean them but-- I made a mistake dumping you, Bree," Veronica said. "I am so sorry."
"It's okay." Bree held Veronica's hands. "You would've said those horrible things if I didn't act that way. I was a horrible person and I admit that. But if being that Bree will make my bestfriend dump me, I don't want to be that Bree anymore."

"Aw." They hugged again. "I'm going to miss you so much!" Veronica cried on Bree's shoulder.
"What do you mean?" Bree asked.
"You're moving to the UK," Veronica said and Bree furrowed her eyebrows.
"No, no, I'm not moving. Who told you that?" Bree asked.
"Really? You're not moving?" Veronica grinned.
"Who told you I was moving?" Bree repeated.
"That asshole, Marcus," Veronica said through gritted teeth.
I chuckled nevrously,"Hey, hey, no one's an asshole, okay? Let's just forget--"
"It was you wasn't it?" Bree said and quirked her eyebrow.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"You bitch, I almost got a heart attack." Veronica glared at me but I didn't feel threatened.
"Oh my gosh, you fucking weirdo, why would you lie about that?" Bree flicked her pink hair and stared at me. "Well?"
I smiled and stared at the both of them. "I like it better when you two are together. Even though you two together treat me like shit."
Veronica and Bree looked at me then smiled. "So this was all your idea," Veronica said.
I nodded,"It seemed like both of you needed eachother."
Bree and Veronica looked at each other and smiled. "I was so sad without you, boo!" Veronica hugged Bree again. "And what happened to your hair?" Veronica examined Bree's pink hair. "It's so pretty!"
"I know." Bree flicked her hair. "And there's this great outfit I bought that matches with my hair. I'll show you, it's in my room."
Veronica squealed,"What are you waiting for, let's go. I want to take some Instagram photos."
"I'll be there in a sec," Bree said and smiled at Veronica. Veronica smiled at her then me before she left and Bree hugged me again.
"I love you," Bree whispered. "Thank you so much for doing this for me."
I smiled, pulling away from the hug. "It's no biggie but hey, no one liked the depressed Bree. I admit, I missed the rude Bree. But please don't be rude to me or anyone else," I pleaded and Bree smiled.
"I don't promise anything," she said seriously then grinned. She shoulder past me,"See you later, twerp." I turned to look at Bree and she waved at me with the most genuine smile on her face. I smiled to myself and walked out the house filled with partying people.
I saw Marcus and the gang waiting outside. They were all standing as a group and a few girls were staring and talking amongst themselves.
Chase was still injured but he acted normal, but if he was in pain, Ian would be there to help him. "Anyway, I gotta sleep early for the wedding day tomorrow," I said to Marcus.
"Our wedding day?" Marcus said and the boys chuckled.
I snorted though I couldn't deny the blush creeping onto my cheeks. "You wish," the boys all said in unison and Marcus glared at the boys.
Marcus said nothing and I looked up at him and he smiled. "Oh, I do. If you know what I mean."
I smiled wrapping my arm Marcus' waist as we walked to his car.
"It sucks that we aren't going to go to the wedding," Chase whined. "Fucking fiddlesticks!"
"Fiddlesticks?" Sam and Kendall repeated and looked at Chase.
"You all can sleepover at my house if you want," I offered. "It's a cold night and we can all cuddle together and drink hot coco."
The weather was pretty bad. The wind was blowing and the clouds were forming. Probably, it was going to rain during the night and I had hoped and prayed that the weather would be perfect tomorrow for Nora and Stanley's wedding day.
"Ew no thanks," Xavier murmured.
"Uh, that's kind of weird, Alyssa," Erik said and narrowed his eyes at me. "It's okay though. Since it's the wedding day tomorrow, I think it'll be quite busy in your house and your father will be there to kill us all. We'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
I nodded. "I love you guys."
"We love you too, Alyssa," they said unison. "Bye." They got in their car and drove off. Marcus and I got in his car and he drove me home. "Baby cheeks, I'll see you tomorrow. I love you." Marcus pecked my lips and I ruffled his hair.
"I love you too." I backed away from the car and smiled at him. I turned around, walking to the front door. Marcus waited until I was inside the house and I heard him drive away when I shut the door.
I saw aunt chatting with my mom and dad near the fireplace and Alyson was sitting alone on the couch, watching a comedy movie to which she was smiling to. "Hello everybody, I'm home!" Everyone looked at me and smiled.
"My cute niece," my aunt said. "Your mother and I are about to leave."
"Bachelorette party?" I guessed.
They nodded and I frowned,"Why am I not invited?"
"Alyssa, you have to look after Alyson," Dad said and I sighed.
"Where are you going, Dad?" I asked.
"Stanley's bachelor party," Dad said and wore his jacket. "They're about to pick me up in ten minutes. How is the weather outside?"
I shrugged,"Not bad. But it's windy and it seems like it's going to rain."
Aunt rolled her eyes,"I hope the weather changes tomorrow."
I groaned. "Don't worry, Alyssa. I wish I would also go out on that Bachelor's party," Alyson said.
I furrowed my eyebrows,"Don't you mean Bachelorette party?"
Alyson chuckled,"I'm seven, don't expect me to know all these stuff."
"You're seven but you have a mind of seventeen year old," I said and Alyson chuckled, and shrugged.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
