《The Nerd who cried Bad Boy》thirty six

My phone rang and I opened my one eye to look at who was calling. I took my phone.
It almost ten o' clock in the night and Marcus never came back after he said he was going to, but he had to check on his mother so that was important.
I answered the call,"Mhm?" my hum was low and raspy.
"Baby cheeks, can you open the door for me?" he asked in a whisper.
"Are you serious?" I said, though I stood up and pulled down my tee. I walked out my room and descended the stairs while I ran my hands through my messy hair. I opened the door and saw Marcus leaning against the door frame.
"Hey Baby cheeks." he winked at me.
"Bro," I deadpanned and I rubbed my eyes. "Why did you come this late?"
"Had to go see a few friends," he answered.
I nodded and let him in and I closed the door. "Wait..." I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at Marcus, "Didn't you say you had to go meet your mother?"
"Yeah, I did. Then I had to meet the gang for a talk."
"Okay." I walked past him and went up the stairs. Suddenly, I was lift up in the air then was carried bridal style to my room as I giggled. I hooked my arms around Marcus' neck and pecked his cheek.
The alarm clock rang.
Monday.
"Fucking great," Marcus' voice mumbled.
I groaned, covering my body from head to toe with the covers. The annoying, loud, repetitive sound blared all over.
The bright sun rays shone between the curtains, hitting my eyes as I removed the covers from my face. I squinted and and rolled over to the other side.
Marcus moaned from beside me and wrapped his arm around my waist, spooning me from behind. My arm reached out to switch the alarm off. I accidentally pushed off my glasses instead and I groaned in annoyance.
Marcus stretched his arm over me and he switched off the alarm. He sighed and wrapped his arm around my waist again. I turned around and I looked at Marcus, holding his jaw.
"Marcus, wake up," I whispered, looking at Marcus who was also covered by the blanket. "Marcus." I repeated, tapping his chest with my fist.
Marcus moaned which sounded seductive as always,"Fifteen minutes," he said, not opening his eyes.
"No get up," I shook his arm.
"Baby cheeks, you're about to get naked," he said, still not opening his eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked down at my oversized tee, it still covered me so then I looked at Marcus.
Did he mean his dream?
I blushed but then grinned. Feeling confident, I whispered low and seductively,"Why dream about it... when you can experience it in reality?"
Holy freaking guacamole, I did not just say that.
Marcus' eyes flew open and he stared at me, while I had a smirk on my face. I knew that would wake him up.
Marcus looked at me with his bottom lip pulled into his mouth. I wasn't feeling confident on the inside as I was looking on the outside. I got up from bed, my oversized tee was on my waist and it revealed the underwear I was wearing but it quickly fell back to it's place. I looked back at Marcus, flicking my hair at the process.
Holy freaking guacamole, I did not just do that.
His eyes were wide open and his mouth was slightly agape, not believing what he saw. I strutted out the bedroom and went to the bathroom to take a shower. I locked the door as soon I got in and then I heard Marcus silently hit his fist on the door. He chuckled,"Aw... holy fuck. Alyssa... come out," Marcus said, his voice somehow different from before.

"No, I wanna take a shower," I replied, taking off my tee and undegarments.
"Let me take a shower with you, baby," he said, trying to desperately open the door.
I chuckled,"Where is the 'cheeks' after baby?" I asked.
It was something I noticed with Marcus, when he would speak to me seductively, he would never say 'Baby cheeks' which I didn't mind.
"Clearly inside that room with you. If you want me to call you that, I want you to let me in," he said, again trying to open the door.
"Dude, that was so lame." I chuckled, "Oh, I'm definitely not opening the door for you now."
Marcus chuckled then sighed,"I have to admit, that side of you drives me fucking insane."
"I didn't even do anything," I lied, turning on the shower.
"Alyssa, you showed me your fucking ass. Need I say more?" Marcus said. I could hear the frustration in his voice.
"Well, it wasn't on purpose," I defended, saying it innocently.
"Fuck," Marcus murmured. "But the look you gave me afterwards, it screamed 'Fuck me, Marcus'."
"Or it was a look that said 'I'm going to take a shower now'." I chuckled.
"You know... I don't want to get you in trouble with your parents," he said. "But I have the strongest urge to remove the only thing between us right now," he said, meaning he wanted to destroy the door. I heard his hand slide down the door. He sighed, "Can you at least give me a goodbye kiss then?" he asked softly.
"No way," I said as I stepped in the shower.
He hummed,"I thought you loved me."
"I do but not n--" I paused, realising what I had said. I crossed my fingers, hoping Marcus didn't hear the first thing I said.
"Hmm. What?" he asked.
I sighed in relief,"Marcus, I'll see you later."
"Bye," he said. I then assumed that he had left to wear his clothes and leave the house. I sighed and threw my head as the warm water hit my face.
I can't believe what I said. Well, I believe it but Marcus almost heard me.
When he said that he thought I loved him. I said 'I do'. That was when it everything changed. And thank God that he didn't hear me, or didn't pay much attention.
But then I realised that I was indeed in love with Marcus Sawyer. I felt all of the air in my lungs escape as I thought about it.
It was love.
Everytime he smiled and caused small butterflies to flutter in my stomach. Everytime he touched me, hugged me, my heart would skip a beat. And everytime we kissed... I felt it.
Love.
And it shocked me when I realised I had fallen for him. Maybe I was in love with him for a while but I didn't want to admit it.
To him and myself.
I didn't want to admit to myself because I was afraid to fall for him. Like he said he was afraid to fall for me. Falling in love with a boy who was notorious for playing girls was very scary, because you're scared if he'll break your heart. That he'll leave you after you admit your love for him. Though, a small part of you hopes that he'll change but the dominate part knows that he will leave, in search for another heart to break... or finally fall in love with another person who isn't you.

This probably wasn't new to him, every girl loved Marcus but he just used them and broke their hearts, especially after the girl tells Marcus that she loves him. He didn't care, instead, he dumps the girl because of that.
Never in a million years I imagined myself falling for Sawyer. I did know that I would have a little crush on him because I found his bad boy attitude very attractive.
Now here I was, almost admitting to the guy I admired for months that I love him.
I laid against the cold shower wall, sliding down until I was on the floor and hugging my knees. I shut my eyes and sighed, the water running down on my skin.
I love Marcus Sawyer.
Suddenly, the corner of my lips tugged up and I found myself smiling at the thought.
I put on my sneakers after finishing breakfast. I grabbed my backpack and phone from the table and I left the kitchen. I stepped out the house and shut the door, turning around, I saw Marcus waiting outside his car.
He smiled once he saw me and I smiled back. I walked to him and we both hugged, I pulled away.
"Kiss?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes, smiling. I pecked his lips and walked to the passenger side of the car. We got in and Marcus started the car and drove to school.
"So..." he began, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. "On Wednesday, we have this soccer game we are playing against the other school."
"Mhm." I nodded. "You want me to go to practice with you afterschool?" I asked.
Marcus smiled,"Yeah. I'd love your support."
Love.
"What school are you playing against?" I asked him.
He shrugged, turning the car,"Some school called Wolvecott High or something. But the school's name has wolves in it."
"Oh, nevrous?" I asked, though I knew Marcus wouldn't never be nevrous. Our school always won in soccer games since we had Marcus and a few other tough players.
Marcus scoffed,"Me? The Marcus Sawyer? Baby cheeks, if I ever say I'm nervous for anything, just assume I've been kidnapped by aliens and been replaced with a fucking clone."
I laughed,"Geez, okay. Though, weren't you nevrous when we were about to meet my mother?" I smiled, amused.
Marcus glanced at me then back at the road,"I didn't say I was nevrous... I just was."
I chuckled.
"Everyone is talking about this other player in Wolvecott High and from what I heard, he's the fucking king in soccer," Marcus said.
I chuckled,"Clearly he hasn't met you yet," I said as I ruffled his hair.
"Clearly," Marcus repeated as he parked.
We both got out of the car and walked inside the school building. Almost all the students had their eyes on us as we walked to my locker. I opened the locker door and took out all the necessary books for this day. Marcus spotted the coach and he looked at me,"Baby cheeks, I need to speak to coach for a few minutes. I'll be back," he said and kissed my cheek.
"Okay." I nodded and carried on with my packing. I frowned when my books looked untidily packed. They started tumbling and they all fell. I sighed and looked around, seeing that I had caught some attention. Marcus wasn't in sight to help me so I bent to pick the books.
Someone crouched down next to me, I looked at beside me, not recognising the person. "Thanks," I said and he nodded, helping me pick up the books.
"Hey. It's fine, I got it," Trick said to the boy and he nodded, leaving us. Trick smiled at me and crouched down, helping me pick up my books.
"Hey Trick." I smiled and gathered all my books,"I haven't seen you in a while," I said as I packed my books in my locker.
Trick stood up the pile of books in his arms. I took some and packed them in the locker.
"Yeah, been busy with other stuff." Trick sighed and rolled his neck.
"Wanna tell me?" I asked as I packed the last few books.
"You'd be scared of me," Trick answered with a slight chuckle.
"Oh." I smiled with him. I sighed and shut the locker,"What about Angelo and Percy?"
He rolled his eyes as soon as I mentioned their names,"Those two..."
I furrowed my eyebrows,"What? What happened?"
"They betrayed me. Chose to go against the rules and had to pay," he said, clenching his jaw.
"So... where are they?" I asked, slightly getting crept out to what he said.
"Don't know, don't care," he said, I could hear the venom in his voice. He looked at me and leaned against the locker. "Are you busy afterschool?" he asked.
"Uhm... actually yeah," I said.
"I wanted to take you out for lunch," he said. I didn't know what changed with Trick, suddenly the sparkle his eyes had were gone and he smiled less.
"I'm sorry but I'm accompanying Marcus during his soccer practice," I said and Trick's eyes darkened when he had heard what I said.
"With Marcus?" he asked and clenched his jaw once again.
"Okay, Trick. Did you wake up sucking a lemon this morning?" I asked.
Trick smiled then sighed,"It's just... I thought you liked me," he whispered.
"What do you mean?" I asked. "I still like you."
"As in more than friends?" he said, emphasising 'more'.
"Uhm..." I was silent. Had I said that? Of course I liked Trick, but since Marcus and I had gotten closer and I sorta... kinda... fell for Marcus, I didn't think of Trick that way.
Trick took my silence as an answer and he looked away. He looked back at me again,"We kissed right?"
"Yes but--"
"You said you liked me... and that you didn't like Marcus. Now you're with him... was it all a lie?" he asked softly. "You used me to just go get over Marcus?" Trick said.
"Of course, I liked you," I said.
"Past tense?" he raised his eyebrow.
I sighed, groaning,"I still like you but as friends."
"The kiss meant otherwise," Trick said.
"Trick, can we speak about this somewhere else?" I whispered, looking around us. Some students stared at us while others turned away as I turned to look at them.
"You know what... fuck this," he said and turned around and walked away.
I followed him and held his arm,"Trick, please let's just talk later?"
Trick shook my grip on him. I stood in front of Trick with a raised eyebrow,"Dude, I thought we were cool with eachother. I literally don't know why you went so sour, I swear you sucked two lemons this morning."
"I thought you liked me, what changed?" he asked, looking at me.
I sighed, nevrously playing with my fingers."I... I like somebody else," I said, looking over Trick's shoulder, most specifically looking at Marcus talk to coach. His back was facing me, I was kind of glad he wasn't facing us because I didn't want him to see me talk to Trick.
I didn't want him to punch Trick again.
Trick sighed though he suddenly looked calm,"It's Marcus, right?"
My cheeks heated as I nodded,"We're back together."
I held his hand. "I also like you but as a friend. I used to like you more than a friend but something changed," I said and looked back at Marcus.
He nodded and let out a sigh,"Fine but we'll go out soon... right?"
"Yeah," I replied hesitantly. Trick nodded and walked past me. I looked at Marcus speak at the coach for a few seconds before turning to me. He smiled and winked at me.
I walked to him,"Coach allowed you to sit at the bench with the substitutes. Which is freaking VIP," he said with a chuckle.
"That's great," I said happily.
"Sure is, many students would kill to be in your position," he said.
"Just because it's the closest seat to witness the Marcus Sawyer play?" I said sarcastically, emphasising the word 'the'.
Marcus grinned and wrapped his arms around my torso, he kissed the top of my head,"That's why you are my girlfriend," he said and I chuckled, somehow remembering that Marcus was my real boyfriend.
I looked up at him and he looked down at me.
He smiled. The same smile that lit up my day. The same smile that put me in a good mood and filled my stomach with butterflies.
Smiling, I buried my face in the crook of his neck. I love you, I mouthed though made sure he didn't see me.

Wu Li was but a student trapped in a future he did not want when the Portal sought him out to become the Savior of an entire world. However, unlike any beings born in that world, Wu has not a single ounce of power within his body. Worse yet, he's the fourth one that's been summoned in history and he's got massive shoes to fill. How will he overcome his own powerlessness and become the savior that everyone expects him to be? With a beautiful girl acting as his slightly disappointed yet adorable guardian, a smoking hot rivalling bounty hunter from the High societies out to take his head, and countless other encounters along the way, Wu fights on to become the greatest of the four saviors, while seeding this world with...the principles of science. This is a story set in a world with a rich history of the magic power known as the Wave, and all native species are capable of interacting with the Wave to obtain power in a variety of ways. Think of this as a combination of Dr Stone and Black Clover! I am writing this story using similar structures to anime seasons, and the chapters in itself are structured more like manga chapters. The first two seasons are already planned out, and it is likely going to be daily upload (12 noon EST) of chapters from ~ 2 k words in length during the 'season' when there is backlog of chapters, with a week or two of a break in between seasons if no backlog. If you liked this story, please drop a rating and review. If you hated it, please drop a review and help me get better. Don't just spam a 0.5 rating and leave like a coward lol.
