《Alpha Grayson|✔️》6| I have a bad feeling

"Happy birthday!," Isla yelled as she jumped on my bed. Why would Liv invite her in?
"Why are you here?," I groaned. "Go away." Freezing cold water was thrown on me making me shoot upright with a scream. "I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" My clothes were wet. My bed was wet. There wasn't anything that wasn't wet. At least my phone wasn't on the bed. Suddenly, I noticed Liam stood in the corner laughing like a manic.
"Happy birthday my favorite twin," I said sweetly as I stood up and stretched my arms out. I held them open, inviting Liam into my embrace as he slowly backed away from me.
"I'm your only twin," he scoffed out before he turned and ran. I chased him in my wet and soggy clothes all the way to my parents apartment which wasn't that far. Obviously, we got some confused and disgusted looks our way since our scents were unfamiliar to them.
"Alana," my mom said sternly as she watched me chase him around like a five year old on a sugar high. I stopped in my place and turned to look at her as did Liam. "Go get ready. Liam, stop throwing water on your sister." I watched as he scrunched his face up as if he didn't like the idea of not throwing water on me.
While he was thinking, I attacked. He fell to the floor with a yelp. "Fat ass. I can't breathe," I gasped out dramatically as Liam refused to get up. That's right, he landed on me. I think it's safe to say my back's gonna hurt. "I've completed my mission."
"Liam," my dad sighed out as he rubbed his temples. "Get off your sister. You can't be acting like a child anymore, boy. You are the future Beta. You have to start acting like an adult and that means finding your mate." Liam let out a groan before getting up and going to his room. I sat on the floor and watched his door close before going back to Livs apartment.
"When did you two become friends?," I asked, almost doing a double take at the scene in front of me. It's Isla and Olivia sat on the couch with cups of coffee in their hands.
"While you were chasing Liam," Isla shrugged nonchalantly. I nodded my head and rushed to my room, quickly getting ready.
"What's the plan for today?," I asked them both as I watched them share a knowing smile. It was kinda creepy. "Never mind," I rushed out, changing my mind, finding that whole encounter pretty weird. Before they could say anything, I left wanting to check on Liam knowing that the subject of his unknown mate is a touchy subject for him. With me and Isla now gone, I'm guessing he wants his mate now too.
"Liam?," I said softly as I knocked on his door. He opened it slightly. "Are you-."

"I'm fine," he said abruptly, cutting me off.
"I was gonna ask if you were free, dumbass," I laughed completely changing my tone, sneezing he wasn't in the mood to talk about it. He let out a small chuckle. I walked in his room and laid on his bed.
"You look nice," he said.
"I know."
"What do you want?"
"Just wanted to hang out with my big brother," I shrugged.
"'Big brother'," he repeated, with air quotations. "Really? What happened to the real Alana? Is she in there?" He knocked on my forehead.
"Yes, she is and that hurts!," I yelled, hitting him back.
"Geez," he muttered. "Didn't need to hit me." I rolled my eyes.
"Get your ugly ass up," I ordered him. "It's our birthday and I wanna spend it with a happy you, not a sad one." He gave me a look as I stood up.
"What's in it for me?," he asked with a smirk.
I thought for a moment. He's definitely not gonna get money. "Chocolate cake," I blurted out. Sometimes, my mouth does things without checking with my brain first. I wanted the cake. He's gonna eat it all.
"Deal."
-
"I want my cake," he said as we walked around the pack grounds.
"The day's not over yet," I reminded him.
"Alana!," a voice called out. I looked around, spotting Grayson walking towards us. I wanted to walk away and ignore him but I couldn't.
"Oh for fucks sake," I mumbled under my breath as Grayson was getting closer. Liam let out a slightly chuckle as he rolled his eyes. It's pretty clear he doesn't like him and I don't blame him either.
"What?," I asked, flatly once he was in hearing distance.
"I need to talk to you," he glanced at Liam before continuing. "Alone." Liam stayed silent.
"I'll be fine," I told Liam noticing he didn't move an inch and only became tense as Grayson approached us. Liam looked at me for a moment. "Go." He nodded and sprinted off, listening to me for once in his life. He probably went back to the pack house.
"Speak," I ordered him.
"Can we go somewhere private?," he asked.
"No. I think we're fine here," I said firmly. I didn't want to be near him. He let out a sigh.
"Just wanted to say happy birthday." I let out a scoff as a I chuckled slightly sarcastically.
"Really? You wanted to tell me that in private?," I let out a sigh. "Cut the bullshit. There's something you're not telling me. What is it?"
He bit his lip before shaking his head. "There's nothing." I turned and walked away without another word. Happy birthday? Really? I'm not an idiot. I will find out what he wanted to tell me.

"Alana," my wolf, Dawn suddenly spoke.
"Dawn?"
"The one and only. Anyway, I spoke to Grayson's wolf. Something's going on. It's something big. Please, just stay alert."
"Why? What's going on?"
"I'm not sure. He wouldn't tell me. He just said to stay alert and keep an eye out," she sighed out. I could just imagine her laying on her stomach, looking sad.
"Well at least his wolf cares enough to tell us," I scoffed out. Dawn just let out a hum in response.
Suddenly, the air escaped my lungs as I was thrown to the side like a ragdoll. My name was yelled a couple of times as I flew a few feet into the air before hitting a tree. "I'm gonna rip out your throat," I heard Grayson growl out. I let out a groan as I slowly moved, sitting up.
Grayson?
"I'm sorry," the man (who looked only a couple of years younger than me) whimpered before adding, "Luna." He looked between Grayson and I for a moment. It was then that I noticed Grayson was holding him up in the air by his collars. "It was an accident. It won't happen again."
Grayson was seriously defending me. Is he feeling okay? Has he had like a personality transplant or something? Why does he suddenly care about me? I would've expected him to walk off and ignore what just happened.
Unless this was for show. Obviously most of the pack know who I am by now since I was living with their Alpha.
Just as Grayson was about to speak, I spoke, "It's okay," I told the man. "Grayson, let him go." Grayson looked at me before loosening his grip and letting him scramble away. He came towards me, clenching and unclenching his fist probably dying to let out his anger before he held out his hand for me to grab. I ignored it and stood up on my own before attempting to continue my walk back to the pack house.
"Alana," he spoke, making me halt in my tracks. I stood still, not daring to look his way as my back faced him. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry's not good enough."
With that, I walked away.
-
"Happy birthday to you!," everyone sang loudly. Liam and I struggled to contain our smiles as we watched our parents, Isla and Olivia fail to sing in tune.
"Make a wish and blow your candles out," my mom exclaimed. I rolled my eyes. She thinks we're kids. I looked down on my candle and closed my eyes before blowing it out.
Liam and I thought it was pointless getting two cakes so we got one cake and put only two candles in it. An 'A' for me and a 'L' for him.
My mom let out a squeal before she took the cake into the kitchen. "Is she always this...excited?," Olivia asked with a smile.
"Don't even ask," Isla said with a small laugh.
"So where's your mate?," I asked Isla with a big grin on my face.
"Shut up," she laughed. "I know what you're thinking. I know you too well."
"It was just a simple question," I defended myself. She just let out a hum in response.
"Alana, honey," my mom said as she emerged from the kitchen with plates of cake in hand. "I need to tell you now otherwise I'll forget later." I nodded my head urging her to continue. "We're leaving tonight. There's been an emergency and they need your father."
"Alright," I told her. "You better start packing then. It's almost 8pm."
"I don't want to-," she began to say.
"Mom, it's fine," I told her. "I'm just glad I got to spend some time with you."
"Me too," she said before agreeing and leaving to pack. After a couple of minutes of talking to my dad, I managed to convince him to leave a little earlier than planned. I have a bad feeling that something is gonna happen and when it does, I don't want my family anywhere near it. Plus what Dawn told me about what Grayson wolf said is making this bad feeling worse.
"Alright, I'm done," my mom said as she came towards us with her bag in hand. "I packed both of yours too. I know how long you'll take."
"Thanks," Liam and my dad muttered.
"I guess I'm going then," Liam said as he came towards me. He wrapped his arms around me and bent down so his mouth was near my ear before whispering, "I'm gonna find out why you want us gone so bad."
"Shut up," I said before letting go of him. I hugged my parents before we walked to the car. We did another set of hugs and goodbyes before their car finally drove away.
"So," Isla started as she stood beside me watching their car drive away, "Why were you in a rush to get them out of here?"
"What? No, I wasn't," I denied. She gave me a look before I finally gave in. "My parents didn't notice, did they?"
"I doubt it but Liam on the other hand...," she trailed off.
"I know."
"So are you gonna willingly tell me the reason behind it or am I gonna have to force it out of you?"
"I have a bad feeling." She looked at me, wanting me to expand on my statement. "Something bad is gonna happen and when it does, I don't want any of them near here."
"Nothing is gonna happen. You're just paranoid."
Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Who knows? But I doubt it. Something bad will happen and I won't be able to stop it.
