《All I ever wanted》9. Double date

"I want dove," Fawn says in a dramatic firm tone. "Oh my gosh, he was so hot," She squeals, laying on my bed, kicking her legs up in the air like a kid.
Wednesday after school, I invited her over to binge watch 90 days fiancé with me. Believe it or not, Fawn is the first friend I'm having over in two years. I don't know why, but I just really like her. She's cute, kind, and smart, and she's starting to grow on me.
I laugh at her and straightened the edge of my comforter. "It wasn't that big a deal."
She sits up straight and stares at me. "Are you kidding? Did you see Gray's face? If you ask me, I think he still has feelings for you," She beams, bouncing on my bed.
I internally roll my eyes, Fawn didn't know Gray at all or what happened between us. The way he treated me wasn't how you'd treat someone you love. That was the biggest pill I had to swallow two years ago. The sad feeling of being in love with someone who didn't love you back.
Sometimes, I wonder why he dated me. He couldn't have been using me for popularity because he was pretty popular himself. Although, dating him did boast both of our popularities back then.
"I doubt," I reply and seat on my bed.
"Anyways, Luca is super cute and I think you should go for him," She says. She was right, Luca was super hot and I was definitely going to go out with him. We might have a spark, you'd never know.
"Enough about Luca and I. Who do you like?" I turn to face her, raising an eyebrow teasingly.
Her face immediately turns bright pink and she stared at the duvet. "He likes someone else," She says in a small voice.
She did have a crush on someone! "Who?"
"It doesn't matter," She bites her lower lips nervously.
"W-h-o?" I urge, shaking her slightly.
She laughs and removes my hand from her shoulders. "Promise not to tell anyone?"
"I promise," I reply and cross my arm around my chest.
She takes a deep breath and looks at me with a huge smile. "Zyair."
Zyair?
I raise an eyebrow and smirk. Zyair was a good friend, but he wasn't exactly boyfriend material. All his relationships never last more than three months. "You like Zyair?"
She nods her head excitedly, her face lit. "Do you think he'll like me? I don't think he would though, I think Amy's more of his type," She babbles, her expression changing.
"Trust me, he doesn't like Amy. He's just infatuated," I say, in an attempt to reassure her.
"Are you sure," She sniffs and I pat her back gently without saying a word.
"I really want him to notice me," She slumps her shoulders, and his eyes get a bit wide. Aww, she was so cute.

"Why don't we make him notice you," I smirk, raising an eyebrow suggestively.
Fawn furrows her brows and looks at me with confusion. "I don't understand," She shook her head.
"A makeover, Fawn. You need to get a makeover," I roll my eyes, but soon replace it with a smile. Fawn was very pretty no doubt, but she didn't have the right attitude for Zyair. Being his friends for years, I've noticed that Zyair has a type.
He likes bold and confident girl, which Fawn really wasn't. She wasn't shy either, she just didn't stand out much. She hardly wore any makeup and she basically dresses like someone who doesn't give a fuck about their appearance.
I'm not going to change her, instead, I'll add flair to her usual dressing.
"A makeover? I thought I looked okay," She purses her lips.
"You look beautiful girl, but we're just going to add a little more touches to your look," I reply, inspecting her face. "For starters, your hair looks too dry."
"Yeah, that's because I don't oil it every day. Oil attracts dust to my hair," She interrupted, patting her hair.
"Do you want to get a hair makeover?" I squealed excitedly. "I'm thinking of dying my hair jet black," I add, running my hand through my curls.
"Errr... I'm not so sure about dying my hair."
"Come on. It would be fine," I whine, bouncing on my bed.
She bites her lower lips and looks torn for her moment before she shakes her hand and runs a hand through her. "Okay, fine. Let's do it."
"Yes," I pump my fist in the air. We only live once, so we might as well do what we want when we want.

I apply one more layer of lipgloss and smack my lips. It's 6 pm and I am getting ready for a date with Luca. We were going to watch a movie and eat dinner together.
Fawn just left an hour ago, and we didn't even watch the movie she came here for. We ended up talking about boys, college, and parties. Fawn says she wants to go to college in a different country because she'd like to experience different cultures and speak different languages. She makes my dream of wanting to go to any college and becoming a pharmacologist look mediocre.
I take one last look at my self and smothered the jacket on my shoulder. I'm wearing a lace crop top with washed light blue mom jeans, paired with my favorite black pumps. For accessories, I grab a black purse and a tiny black sunglasses. I place the sunglasses on my hair because I wasn't planning on wearing it. I was just using it to accessorize my outfit.
I was applying another layer of mascara on my eyelashes when Luca texts me to tell me he's in my house. I was about to take my time in dressing up when I realize my father would probably question the hell out of Luca and scare him away.

I walk out of my room hastily and stride downstairs. I see my dad with his arms wrapped around Luca's shoulder, whispering something in his ears.
"Dad," I whine and pull Luca away from him. Luca was the first male friend of mine, my dad's meeting. Gray and I only dated for five months and my dad never met him during that time.
Dad and I never really saw eye to eye during my freshman year. That was the time of my rebellion. I partied endlessly and basked in the popularity I had at that time. I used to have multiple friends over, which dad didn't like. The only friend he approved was Ashley.
"We were just talking about guys stuff," Dad chuckles. "Right, Luca?" He turns to Luca when I kept staring at him.
"Yes sir," Luca smiles politely, melting my anger a bit. He was really cute and I wouldn't like Dad blowing my chances with him.
"Well, we'll be leaving now. I'll be home by 11," I say in a hurry and drag Luca out of the house.
"10 pm," Dad yells to my back.
"10:45," I yell back.
"10:30," Dad replies in a firm tone and I knew there was no more room for discussion.
"I'm sorry about my Dad," I apologize to Luca once we are out and he shakes his head amusedly.
"No, it's fine," He replies. "You look really nice by the way," He adds, opening the passenger door for me to get in.
I smile back at him. "Thank you and you do too."
"Do you have a particular movie in mind," Luca asks, after getting into his car and starting up his engine.
I shake my head. "Not really, we can watch whatever's showing."
I actually want to watch Extraction. It's a new Chris Hemsworth movie that premiered a few days ago.
Luca nods his head in agreement. The ride to the mall was filled with us talking about our family and favorite foods. He had lived with his father for the most part of his life like me, so it was really easy to relate with him. He really adores his mum and younger sister too. He says his younger sister is his favorite person in the world.
We get to the mall and I go to pay for the movie tickets first. Thankfully, Extraction was one of the movies available, so we just paid for that. We walk over to the snack booth to get some popcorn. We were deciding on whether to get a large popcorn or two small ones when I hear someone squeal my name from behind.
"Dove. I didn't expect to see you here," I turn on my heels to see Amy with a huge smile on her face, her arms interlocked with Gray. I thought coincidences like this only happened in movies.
"Well, here I am," I smile, and she gives me a hug, while Luca and Gray give each other a boyish nod.
"Are you guys here to watch a movie," Amy asks a smile on her face. I silently pray that they're done watching a movie and we're on their way home.
"Yeah, Extraction," I nod.
"Cool, we just watched a movie and are about to go grab dinner," She replied. I mentally thank God, I wouldn't have to see them for the rest of the night.
Gray looks up from his phone and looks between us. "We can watch Extraction with you guys," He pipes. Nope, I spoke too late.
"Yeah like a double date," Amy beams, making me facepalm myself. They really couldn't be serious. I honestly didn't get the point of a double date, it's basically just a group hangout.
"No, we're good," I shake my head.
"Cool," Luca said at the same time and I immediately give him a death stare. "I'm mean, we're fine," He quickly says.
Gray looks between us and smiles a bit. "Come on, it would be fun," He smiles and links his arm with Luca. He drags him away before Luca could say a word. I rolled my eyes, wondering if Luca had the inability to speak for himself.
Where on earth do Exes, go on double dates with different people. I slouch and follow them, not wanting to be the difficult person who keeps saying no. I increase my pace and walk between Luca and Gray, who were walking like they were a couple.
I interlock my fingers with Luca and walk towards the theatre. I figured it couldn't be too bad, I barely paid attention to my surroundings when watching a movie. So, I probably won't notice Amy or Gray.
After we get tickets for Gray and Amy, we walk into the theater and realize there were no four empty seats in a row. So Luca and I sit closer to the screen, while Gray and Amy sit a few rows behind us. A lot of people enjoy seating farthest from the screen, but I didn't understand that logic. I'd rather sit closest to Chris Hemsworth's face.
Halfway through the movie and too many sodas after, I quietly get up to go to the toilet. I had held my pee in for too long and I might just end up peeing myself if I didn't get up.
There were a lot of grumbles from people because I had to pass through a lot of people to get out. "Sorry, sorry-," I mutter, stopping mid-sentence when I see Amy and Gray. I immediately regret my decision to go pee.
They were completely ignoring the movie and eating other's face out, in the lame excuse of making out. My insides twist and turn and I feel a pang of jealously watching them or was it anger?
One thing is sure though. I'm not over him yet.
