I looked around the room. Everybody seemed to be quite frightened of Annabeth's mini-meltdown. I smirked.
"Heeeeeeey, Annie?" I said. I was totally aiming to make her annoyed.
"Yes, Percy?" She said in the girlie at voice she could manage. Wow.
"You gonna pick someone?" I asked. Later, I realised that it was a bad idea.
"Sure, honey," she said. "What about... you?"
The smug grin was wiped off my face.
"Umm... you sure?" I said, my voice shaky.
"Mhm."
I cleared my throat.
"Right."
"Percy, truth or dare?" She said. And I thought the Minotaur was scary. My girlfriend? Not to be expected.
"Truth." I squeaked. I wasn't going to pick dare. Especially not when asked by an irritated Annabeth.
She grinned evilly.
I wanted to run away screaming:

But, Jason was laying against the door. He smiled. I glared.
"Have you kissed anyone in a romantic way apart from me?" She asked.
I was going to die.
"Y-yes?" I said.
Her expression changed from sickly-sweet to an enraged Hades. And I knew what my uncle looked like when he was angry.
"And, honey, who was that?" She spat between gritted teeth.
"Do I have to say?" I asked in a small voice.
"Yes." She growled. I prayed to my dad for me to live.
"Rachel," I choked. Annabeth's eyes burned. Her teeth bared. "But- but you guys are friends now... so it's fine... right?"
Frank was clearing his throat. I got the gist of it.
"But... it was before we were dating," I barely whispered.
She scowled deeper.
"We are going to talk about this later."
"But-"
"No.Buts."
I wanted help.

Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though.
