MILES'S POV
I sat on the sofa at the living room by myself. Artemis showed up a little earlier looking pretty happy and kept saying that Chiron(I think I remember him from the PJO books) finally allowed us to train at his camp.
I stared at awe at her. Artemis really was beautiful and very unlike her twin brother, Apollo. She was very kind and gentle and well... let's just say she's the complete opposite of her bro.
When she walked towards me earlier to talk, I shifted uncomfortably and fell face first on the floor. Everybody laughed except her, she only looked down at me sadly and held out her hand. I almost felt bad for her, what right does she have to look sad?
"Ahem," someone coughed. I looked up to find the goddess of beauty herself standing before me. She looked like a million bucks. She actually decided to wear her hair up this time and wear no jewelry. Of course, her make up is still a bit too much on her but she still looked beautiful. I tried not to think about her that much since, after all, I have a girlfriend. But it was hard not to look at her that way.
"Can I sit down?" She asked me. I nodded. When she sat down, I could smell her perfume. Something of a mix of strawberry and grapes. I don't know if it smelled great, but it does smell edible. "Smell my perfume?" I nodded, she smiled.
"What do you want?" That came out mean. I didn't mean to have it sound like that. I expected her to lash out at me but instead, she only raised her eyebrows.
"Why, I only came here to give you something."
"What's that?" I turned to face her. She licked her lips, her lip gloss covered lips.
"Your freedom."
"What freedom?"
"I only came here to tell you that you and your girlfriend should brake up. A lot of things would go wrong if you guys kept going out."
I raised my hand up in fraustration and cussed silently to myself. Why was the goddess of love saying this to me? I looked at her and she had that blank expression on her face. I know that what she's saying is true and I have to do it, but I'm not going to give in without a fight.
"Look, I'm not telling you this because I'm messing with you, truth to be told, you guys aren't even suppose to be going out in the first place."
"At least, give me one good reason why I'm not even suppose to be going out with her?" I forced her to answer my question.
"Because she's Apollo's kid!" she sounded angry calm which is the scariest type of calm.
"So?" I tried to stay calm myself, but it was hard.
"He doesn't appove and, well, a lot of other people do too," she said. Wait a minute, hold up. People don't like me with Alexa? Different body, same problem. What else isn't new? "Aww, don't be so done on yourself. I know something that helps with heartbroken people like you. C'mon."
She stood up and gestured for me to follow her to the kitchen. She then started breaking eggs and chopping some mints. I looked at her quizically. A few minutes of trying to remember the recipe and she turned on the frying pan.

"It isn't breakfast," I told her.
"I know. Just sit down and relax."
"But you just told me to stand up," I said and she looked up blankly and said only one word. "Oh."
A few minutes later, she served me burned mint pancakes. I stared at the pancakes instead of eating it.
"Eat up," she told me. I looked up at her with a disgusted look on my face.
"Um," I said. "I'm not that hungry." What suprised me was that she slammed the table and it shook violently.
She apologized and told me to get up and follow her. I followed her to the elevator, the lobby then enter a red ferarri.
"Where are we going?" I asked her and as she started the engine, she smiled at me.
"Somewhere where you could take your mind off of your problem."
"I'm not in the mood for shopping today, Aphrodite." As I said her name, she glared at me and I swear, she looked scary as hades. And I don't even know what Hades looks like but I know that it doesn't look pretty. I mean, she still looks pretty and all, but scary pretty if you know what I mean.
"That's Lady Aphrodite to you demi god," her eyes were blood red.
"Y-yes, Lady Aphrodite," I stammered. She half smiled and half laughed. I wondered why, but I didn't ask her. Frankly, I'm still scared. Maybe scared isn't the right word. More like freaked out.
I looked at the passing cars and cabs and instantly thought about my mother. How would my mom live without me by her side? If any of you don't know, my mom used to be a VS ramp model. Maybe that's what attracted my dad to her or maybe its her awesome personality. Yes, I know its weird that I'm bragging about my mom. Most kids usually don't, but I want to. My mom is great, she's honest, kind and generous. She gives back. A lot. Sometimes too much. But I don't care, for me, she's the greatest mom ever.
Most mom's hit their kids all the time or they've hit them at least once but mine, well, my mom never hit me. Not once. Of course, she would scold me some time but never nag. No, she never nags which is cool. Her punishment for me mainly is forcing me to read books which is cool since I love to read. She never bought me comics, scratch that, she never bought me graphic novels. She always bought novels. When I was younger, a lot of kids teased me because they said I read girl books which I find weird since books are free to anyone who wishes to read it. It's quite enjoyable.
My favorite books would be Cassandra Claire's The Mortal Instruments series and Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games trilogy. But above all of those, my real true love was the PJO series by Rick Riordan. I got the Lightning Thief on 2005 and so on until 2009 when the Last Olympian came out. I guess, it seemed weird now that everything in the book is sort of real.
I looked back at Aphrodite who seemed to be bored and is now keeping herself busy by listening to her iPod. I wonder what song she's listening to. My personal favorites are Cold Play and Neon Trees.
I patted Aphrodite by the shoulder and I'm telling you, her skin was a mixed of hot and warm. And No, its not Luke warm. But it is definitely different, like when I touched her, she's warm but the touch sended chills inside my whole body like I've touched a block of ice.

She looked at me with her eyebrows pinned together like I've disturbed her at the worst possible moment, but she smiled gently. Not showing her white arch of teeth.
"What?" she mouthed and tooke off the earphones of her ear and is now dangling by her hot/cold shoulders. She slid her free hand inside her channel bag and took out her black iPod. She hit the stop button and I noticed that she was listening to Lady Gaga's song "Monster".
"Um, where are we going exactly?" I asked her. I really wasn't comfortable going somewhere without knowing where we're going exactly. She must've read my mind because she just smiled again and patted my knee with her free hand.
"We're going to a birthday party," she said simply. I wondered whose birthday it was and why it was so important that Aphrodite had to take me with her. But maybe its the same place where everybody else went. Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that huh? Yes, everybody left early. They all talked about going somewhere important and that everybody was required to go. I said that I would stay behind since I didn't even know the people or the place that they were talking about. Aphrodite said she'd stay behind with me. I don't know why but now I know. She stayed so that she could take me to this party where everybody was.
We stopped by and old abandoned building at Queens. The building looked old and it reeked. I covered my nose because the stench was unbearable. Why would anyone want to have a party at this dump? Aphrodite also seemed to be disgusted, muttering something between Greek and English. I could only make out a few words though, Αυτό είναι αηδιαστικό. The rest, I didn't understand.
"Are you sure this is the place?" I asked her, my nose still covered but that didn't kept the stench from coming in. She nodded and gestured for me to open the door for her. When I opened it, I felt like I would pass out. It was like someone throwing a stink bomb at you, only 10 times worse. And trust me, I've had my experience with stink bombs. If you haven't been attacked by one, well, do you know the smell when you poop and the smell doesn't bother you and if its someone else's poop, imagine that smell 100 times worse. Then you'd know what I'm talking about.
I used my jacket to practically cover my whole face except my eyes which are now watering due to the stench. I looked over at Aphrodite, she seemed to have covered everything else in her face except her big blue eyes too. That was when I noticed that Aphrodite seemed taller and when I mean taller(I'm not mentioning her 3 inch heels), like 6'5 tall! I looked closer at her and I noticed that she was glowing hot pink. Then I stepped on something. "Τι στο διάολο!?"
Aphrodite stopped and looked at me. I looked back at her then down to my now crap covered reeboks. I tried to scrape off the poop using anything that I could pick up. Aphrodite told me to stop and just leave the shoes and that she would buy me new ones. Even though I didn't want to leave my reeboks. I still did. I instantly felt guilty for leaving it there, Alexa gave that to me as a birthday present at early July. As most of you don't know, I'm a day older than Alexa.
As we kept walking, Aphrodite told me that we should walk through the grafitti covered wall inside the bathroom. When I opened the door to the bathroom, rats and other insects flew out and started crawling out. Aphrodite let out a scream that broke all the windows. It was so loud that I had to cover my ears. When she was done, she started swatting her face using her hands. I also noticed that she stopped hovering and she was now on the floor.
"Get them off! Get them off!" Aphrodite said to me and I tried my best to take all the spiders and other insects I don't know off her face. After I took all of them off, she was still in panic mode so I touched her by the shoulders and shook her gently.
"They're gone. It's okay now," I told her. When she opened her eyes, her eyelashes fluttering, I saw that they showed fear. When she smiled at me shyly, I blushed. Now that I was basically suppose to break up with Alexa(yes, it's still breaking my heart dearly) I think that I'm allowed to think about Aphrodite that way.
"Thanks," she said and let go of me. "You know, for a demi god..." she trailed off. I waited for her to continue but she didn't, instead she walked inside the bathroom and walked towards the wall. At first I thought she was going to bump her pretty head, but she just walked through like it was nothing. Then she called back saying to follow her. So, I held my breath and walked through the wall. When I entered, I immidiately know where I was. I was at Mount Olympus.
Drunken girls walked towards me and asked for my name. I noticed that they had pointy ears and green eyes and I immidiately knew that these are nymphs. Strange, Daphne doesn't look anything like these girls but maybe she's just lucky that she didn't look like them.
"Hey," The girl with the green dress said. "What's ya name boy?" she asked me. I swallowed and shook my head. If I answered her question, she might bug me more. I just needed to find Aphrodite.
"Answrer her question dude," the girl with the violet dress said. She sounded much more sober than the other one. I shook my head at her and she frowned at me. "Who's your godly parent anyway?"
That, I think, I needed to answer. "Hermes."
They both exchanged looks and nodded as if they had a secret agreement. "I see," the girl with the green dress said. "Yeah," the other girl agreed.
"What?" I asked them. I really am curious as to what they had both agreed on.
"I can see the resemblance," they both said. "Not only do you have his good looks," they both blushed. "But you also have his attitude." They sounded mean and angry. I didn't mean to be like that to them. Honest! "Who you looking for anyway? You seem lost."
I told them that I was looking for Aphrodite and they said that she was out dancing with Artemis and that I needed to have better things to do and they left. I immidiately felt like a loser all over again. So, I took a little walk around the place and to my surprise, it doesn't look anything like they described in the books and movies and stuff. The place looks like a night club.
I finally spotted Aphrodite. She was dancing with this blond boy who I swear is not Apollo. I don't even think this is her husband, but he is a good dancer. When she finally saw me looking at her. She stopped and smiled and walked towards me. She held the boy by the wrist.
"Hey," she said and she must've noticed that I was looking at the boy. She pulled him so that he would be standing beside her. She smiled and said, "Miles, this is Dionysus."
"Hey," he said back and offered his free hand at me. I shook it. So, this is the wine god. "Are you enjoying yourself?" he asked a little louder so that I could hear him through the roar of the music. I just shrugged and said that I would be going to the bathroom and they both said okay.
As I looked around for a place where I could crash until the party was over, I saw a girl playing with her laptop. She was sitting next to a girl with brown hair that was tied up to a side bun. Next to the brown haired girl was another brunette, who seemed to be complaining about something. Funny though, she looked exactly like the brown haired girl next to her. They might be sisters.
The trio looked bored. Maybe they have something better to do but was forced to come here as well. Anyway, I walked towards them and instead of asking if I could sit down. I stood there and waited for them to notice me. The girl with the laptop barely looked up. The girl next to her looked up with a confused expression on her face. I see now that she was reading a book.
"Hello," the brown haired girl said. "What do you want?" she asked me. I just shrugged and asked her if I could sit down next to them. At first she looked like she didn't want to give me a sit but she asked the brunette next to her to scoot over so that I could sit. I introduced myself as I sat down.
"Hello, Miles," the girl with the laptop said. "I'm Ariadne." As soon as she said her name she went back to her laptop. The girl seated next to her who I just talked to.
"Don't mind her. I sensed that you're not from around here. New Yorker?" the brown haired girl asked. I nodded and she smiled. "You don't know me, do you, Miles?" As soon as I shook my head, the girl next to me laughed. It wasn't a mean laugh, more like a surprised laugh. "Well, Miles, I'm Athena."
Everything froze. Or maybe that was just me. But whatever. I just talked to Athena! That's kinda equivalent to talking to a famous hollywood actor or actress! I know its wrong to favorite a god other than your godly parent, but I really do like Athena. I admire how she's so wise and all that.
I just sat there wide eyed, staring at Athena. I can't believe how dry my throat was. I knew that my mouth was open but no words were coming out of it. Talk you dimwit! I thought.
Just then, Athena spoke: "Miles, meet my daughter Andrea." Andrea was a very pretty girl with long brown hair and shadowy gray eyes. But she wasn't my type. "Perhaps she can show you around." I could see that Andrea tried to protest, but that didn't work with Athena.
"Fine," Andrea said and gestured for me to stand up so that she could get out.
