*time skip to mid November*
Y/N POV:
"I swear to God Fred if you let me fall I'll haunt you forever!" I screamed out as we flew even higher, over the forbidden forest and then the black lake and the rest of the grounds.
"I never realised how beautiful it was here." I whispered.
It was true though. Having been at Hogwarts for years, you would've thought I'd been able to appreciate it's beauty, but it still amazed me and took my breath away. The magnificent castle, standing tall on the rocks, the forbidden forest below, a blur of different shades of green, and the black lake, shimmering in the spring sunlight. Who knew my home could be so beautiful?
"Haunting me forever doesn't sound that bad you know - in fact, I think I'd like it a lot!" Fred replied as we flew down to the surface of the black lake. I put my hand in the lake as we sped across it, seeing the ripples in the water as I touched it. I'd never felt so alive.
Once we'd gotten back to the courtyard, I realised I was soaking wet.
"Oh my god Freddie - we're soaked!" I gasped and began laughing , pointing at us.
"Don't worry about it, we'll head up to the common room to dry off - you're so dramatic sometimes, such a drama queen." He said teasingly and also began laughing at my reaction.
"But I'm no Draco Malfoy am I?" I replied cheekily.
"No one could be as dramatic as him now Y/N - not even you." Fred said, taking my hand and leading me through he hallway, past the Great Hall. As we went passed, we realised dinner was happening and saw everyone eating together. We quickly ran past the door trying not to be seen by any of them.

After running through the castle, trying not to be seen soaking wet, we got to the common room. I quickly went up to get changed and found his jumper lying on his bed. I picked it up and took it downstairs with me.
"Um Freddie, you left this in my room earlier when you came to get you books." I said, passing him his jumper- his quidditch jumper.
"Oh thanks Y/N, but you keep it for now, you look a bit cold and that keeps you nice and warm - trust me." Fred replied, putting it back in my hand and pushing it towards me.
"Are you sure? I'll give it back to you once I've warmed up!"
"Keep it as long as you want, I've got another don't worry about it... plus you look better in it than me." He responded a small smile on his face. And with that, Fred left the common room, leaving me standing there, holding his jumper and even more in love with him.
Fred POV:
I left the common room, a smile on my face. I'd finally given her my jumper. I'd asked Oliver for two at the start of the year - he never asked why but I think he knew. I got one for her to keep. If she knew that I wore that one on the day I realised I loved her, and that it was the same one I'd had for the past three years, I think she'd probably force me to take it back.
I carried on walking down to the Great Hall, I couldn't hide my smile.
"Someone's in a good mood." George said grinning.
"Yeah well me and Y/N went on my broom around the grounds it was amazing." I said as I grabbed a few pieces of lamb.

"That's so cool! We should all do that sometime!" Angelina said, and everyone nodded in agreement. It would be amazing if we all did it together, seeing Hogwarts in a different way together, but I don't think it would ever be as amazing as it was just then with Y/N. Seeing the amazement in her eyes, the wind blowing her hair and making her smile wider - nothing could compare to that. That feeling of being with her and feeling so alive and in the moment made it even better.
I snapped back out of my thoughts and turned around to see Y/N coming in, wearing my jumper. I was right - she did look better in it. And the faces of excitement our friends had were hilarious. What was funnier was seeing them all struggle to give eachother money under the table - some of them obviously losing bets - without me and Y/N seeing.
Y/N POV:
I didn't realise I was still wearing Fred's jumper until I looked down and smiled.
"What? Am I not allowed to show my support for my best friend?" I said in an innocent voice.
"What about me Y/N? Thought I was your best friend and favourite beater!" George said in a playfully hurt tone.
"Did you see Freddie in the last game we played? Once you hit a Slytherin off their broom that well I'll wear your quidditch jumper." I replied cheekily, sticking my tongue out at him.
During dinner, we just all talked and laughed about pranks, quidditch and school. Every now and then, I'd glance at Fred and he'd glance back, and I'd smile at him. The feeling in my stomach always got stronger when he looked at me. But it was a wonderful feeling.
That night, we all went up to the common room and somehow squished ourselves onto the last available sofa in there. Fred had his arm around mine and George's shoulders, and I learn my head on his shoulder. I could hear his heart beat and feel him breathing, it was quite peaceful. That is, until we started playing games.
"Wanna play a game anyone?" Lee suggested.
"Sure! What do you wanna play?" I said, getting up and going to the games cupboard in the corner of the room.
"Monopoly?"
"Sure."
We got into teams of two as there wasn't enough pieces for everyone: Lee and George, Angelina and Katie, Alicia and Neville, Harry and Ron, Dean and Seamus, Hermione and Ginny and Me and Fred. We'd managed to rope in some of the boys in my year by bribing them with chocolate frogs - something Ron wasn't as keen to do as he wanted them all to himself.
The game was chaotic to say the least. Who knew monopoly could create such a mess? Lee and George won, but somewhere in the middle, Ginny launched at Ron for supposedly stealing $100 from her and Hermione, and poor Neville was stuck in between them. It was all good fun in the end and we all laughed as we put the game away, and sat in front the fire. I rested my head against Fred's shoulder, and he slipped his arm around me as we sat on the floor. Soon enough, everyone began going up to bed and I got up to leave too.
"Night Freddie." I said as I
"Night Y/N - remember to keep that jumper safe." He said smirking.
"I'll be keeping it safe by constantly wearing it Freddie." I replied, hugging him and walking up to my dorm.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Then look no further than the daily life of a cultivation judge. Yang Qing, is a young genius cultivator from a low-tier family whose only safe choice to get resources and hopefully lead an easy life led him to the courts of the Cultivation Order Society. Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash
