《Raised by Heroes》Chapter 11

————————————————————————————————————–
I decided to relax at the beach, sitting on the sand and my feet next to the water, but not that close to the water.
Percy and Crystal were rotating through numerous outdoor activities today. I was bored. Thinking that they already forgotten that I even exist, which is fine...I guess...
A moment ago, which was after lunch.
Annabeth told me that she'll be teaching me how to speak, write, and read in Ancient Greek, it was fun to act clueless to her but it only lasted for one and a half hours...
Maybe I could-
"There you are" a male voice came in, cutting my thoughts.
I opened one of my eyes and found Luke, I frowned because of him. He still has his sword strapped on his waist meaning he was done training. I sighed in annoyance and looked at the bright blue sky, ignoring Luke completely, which is hard since he's staring at me.
Does he want to spar with me?
I don't feel like it today...
My eyes twitched when I could still feel his eyes at me.
"Stop staring will you?" I asked, annoyed. Luke didn't say anything, I took a glance at him and saw his hand reached his sword. My eyes narrowed when he drew his sword and swung at my head. I rolled to the side as I narrowly avoided his sword.
I hate it when my relaxations were cut off because of useless things💢
"What is wrong with you?!" I asked him but he didn't say anything.
Luke pulled his sword which was stuck on the sand, right where my head was before. I sighed when he walked towards me slowly, Luke swung his sword again and this time I dodged straight to the shore, I landed on the wet sand which also got parts of me wet. I went to my feet and jumped to the side when Luke swung his sword at me again.
"If your trying to kill me, just give up and leave me alone!" I yelled again but Luke didn't answer me, at all, like he totally ignoring me. My hand twitched and I growled at him.
"Fight me" he said in monotone voice almost like a robot. "Wha-hey!!" I quickly jumped back when his sword only one inches from my nose. The only thing that was sliced were parts of my hair......

I landed on my feet and when Luke swung his sword again, I ran.
While running, I dodged and jumped on somethings and maybe on some of the Satyrs and campers while Luke was still tailing me. I cannot summon my weapons for them all to see.
"Crystal!" I yelled when I spotted her with a sword on her hands with someone, she looked at me confused and finally got it when she saw Luke. "Throw the Sword!" I yelled again and when she threw it hard I grabbed it by the blade and handle, slightly wincing and finally showed a stance.
*Clang*
The swords clashed as my sword blocked Luke's, I moved mine along with his to the side and jumped back, my. Luke smirked when he saw me on my fighting stance, he twirled his sword on his hand and looked at me with smug look.
"Finally, you've draw your own sword!" he said and grinned.
"You ass!" I shouted and Luke eyebrow twitched when I called him that "If you want to fight, ask like a normal person will you?!" I growled "Not by trying to behead me like your some Sanson!" I said which made him slightly confused.
"Well, you need encouragement" Luke said easily "Since you are one lazy kid"
"I'm not lazy!" I argued "I'm just...chill. Yeah, chill, I hate pointless fights. It's a waste of time and a pain in the ass!"
Luke studied me "Spar with me"
I blinked, confused. "Huh?"
"Percy and Crystal said that you managed to hold that Minotaur back" Luke said, I sighed and glared at him. "I guess I was lucky that I didn't drown twice at the exact moment then." I said, slightly snarling whilst ignoring the few people who were whispering to each other when I said that.
"We'll see." Luke said and charged at me, I jumped to the side before he could make a hit. Luke spun around and swung his sword at me and I quickly blocked it and pushed him away. I decided to charge back at Luke, swinging my sword at his face but he deflected it with his own sword, though before he could move I kicked him in the stomach and he fell the ground.
I was happy in the moment but then remembered almost something happening like this...

-Narrator's pov.-
"Ow!" Mika said as she to the ground after a sneak attack.
"You shouldn't get distracted Mika." A girl with blonde hair said, "Sorry Ms.Arturia..." The younger girl said as she was helped to stand up. "Keep a straight face when your challenged to a duel. Opponents can try to take advantage if you showed some form of weakness. Alright?" The woman named Arturia Pendragon said to her, it was sword training for Mika and Arturia–known as Saber, was her instructor for today.
"Alright," Mika said and nodded while Saber just smiled, "Everything begins with your stance, remember." She said and told Mika to copy her movement.
Saber said and Mika did what she said as they did some simple steps again, "
Saber then saw Mika look up to her instead of the swordsboth of them smiled as they continued.
U/////////////////U
The instructor said to Mika as she practiced.
Mika nodded as she went forward.
The woman who looked like Saber- or Nero, said to Mika who was now slightly nervous.
Nero said to her again and continued.
Nero said as she showed her what's the right position.
Nero suddenly said and smiled which made Mika confused.
Nero said and told her to practice more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jeanne said to Mika as they waited for D'eon, both of them were training Mika one day.
Jeanne then smiled when she remembered an old memory.
D'eon said when she arrived back to themBoth heroic spirits told her as they started her training.
———————————————
When I blinked from the memory I quickly dodged Luke's strike and jumped back,
We exchanged blows and without knowing some of the camper watching us fight.
Luke charged at me again, I blocked his sword and changed my position, I spun around and switched my sword to my left hand.
Luke's eyes widened when he saw the sword come after him in another direction, he quickly jumped back. . "Go Mika!" I heard Crystal cheer.
I shifted into another position and ran to Luke and swung my sword again. But he blocked it with his own sword so I moved my left hand and swung it to his face .
Luke quickly jumped back. I charged at him, swinging my sword as he either blocked or stepped back while I dodged his every strike one by one without breaking a sweat, I could see on his face, that he was overwhelmed
I thought as I remembered a trick.
As Luke swung, I ducked out of the way to turn and I swiftly kicked him at the legs letting him fall. But before he could move to grab his sword I kicked it away and leaned on him, right hand on his chest that exerted my weight on him while my left pointed my sword's tip to his neck. "Tell me your reason for me to not cut your neck like you did to my hair, zasshu," I said to him.
"I think that's enough Mika," I turned my head to see Percy and Annabeth walk towards us. "Fine," I sighed as I stood up and helped Luke stand while I gave Crystal, her sword back.
"I think you losing will just have to do for now," I said to Luke.
"Where did you learn your swordsmanship anyway?" He asked while I thought about what to say. "...Someone back in my hometown...My father had a friend who was an instructor. So a few years of tricks and training I seem to ace things like these." I explained.
"Still, I could still teach you a few more tricks if you want?" Luke said and I told him that I'll think about it. "Mika! Your hand!" I glanced at Crystal who spoke and looked at my hand to see it slightly bleed with almost dried blood on my palm, "It must've happened when you threw the sword to me, my adrenaline's covering the pain so I should probably go." I said to her and Annabeth offered to lead me to the infirmary, we then walked away and noticed that some of the campers were watching me and Luke with amazed looks. Some of the boys and girls whispered among each other while I walked making me sweat dropped.
"So much for laying low now..." I mumbled and continued to follow Annabeth, hopefully I can ask a Satyr or Chiron if I can pick some berries for me to snack on later.
I hope you guys like the fight scene, what do you guys think about it?
Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.
The Many Blades of Wuxia
Hundreds of years after the Heretic wars ended, life has returned to its blissful ignorant state that only peace could bring. Whilst the never-ending war between Man, Beast and Mutant rages on, most are not even aware of a war that happened between men. Its prophecies shattered, their remnants surviving only in obscure bard tales. One is about to grow. On the cracked face of the world, Essence storms and Beast Waves keep the citizenry locked atop the Emperor city of Qaelang. Knowledge of the past is as rare as the metals that flow into the hands of Sacred Artists and at the root of it all are whispers of a malignant force, ancient and terrible. Holding humanity back from achieving greatness, but hiding too are secrets best left untouched. Balance, discipline and order have held Qaelang secure since time immemorial, the powers within claiming to adhere to them. None are more fearful of change than the ones with the most to lose, but change is coming. Blade of Wuxia is a long character-focused epic fantasy with progression and growth. It's about a boy's quest to become powerful enough to save those he cares most for and give them a better life. It's set in a world of hidden pasts and uncovering them will set him on a path that shakes the Empire. As this is a rewrite that took on a wildly different spin, reviews are most welcome and help me do better. What can the reader expect? A Wuxia society set in a High fantasy world. People are only doing what they know and may have mistaken beliefs. A clever resourceful protagonist with human flaws A far-reaching hidden fantasy world, rich in history. Multiple points of view are used to follow the story to its natural conclusions, not every NPC has all the answers, but there is one MC in this book. Progression will take time and sometimes even unknowingly. MC is not trained in the ways and knowledge must be tempered against experimentation. Release Schedule. 2 chapters a week, family and work permitting. Only if I'm happy with the chapter will I release it. That being said I am open to revision should an articulated critical response show merit. This story is not completed yet but I do have a general idea of what the end looks like for both MC's (yes both) Ultimately feedback will be most influential on the progression of release as it's you guys I'm looking to entertain. Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.
