《Raised by Heroes》Chapter 7

After that he just disappeared–more like melt into the ocean, I mean.
I narrowed my eyes at the ocean and saw some big tentacle and a few cyclops held the Minotaur back, effectively by a lot of time. I un-summoned my dagger and slowly dropped on my back again from the pain, so I healed myself using magic slowly. It started to numb some of the pain, then I heard some voices say my name. I must be hallucinating...
When I heard my name called out by many familiar voices, a pair of hands picked me up from the sand and helped me stand up. I turned and saw Sally Jackson; Percy's mom helping me walk to her car.
"Oh god, are you okay?" she asked me worriedly.
I flashed her a weak smile "Just hurts here and there..." and winced afterward, I think my ribs broke...and possibly soared ankle. The only thing I healed up was my lungs and brain...I cannot lose my consciousness here. Not now.
If I'm right, Crystal met Percy and his mom when she and her dad arrived so they visited Percy's cabin and then this happened...I guess...
"Are you sure Mika?" Percy asked and I rolled my eyes but nodded at him.
"Your Aunt is with my dad, she told us that you'll be alright fighting someone and she'll stay there if something happens." Crystal said worriedly, so something's going to happen to her dad, huh Irisviel. "What did she mean by that? What the heck did you do? You're also soaking wet!"
"I'll explain it-" I winced when Mrs. Jackson helped me enter the back seat.
"Later, when I'm not in pain, hopefully." Grover quickly entered the car and took the front seat. After we went to the car Grover explained why he was here and what he was while I healed my ribs slowly for him not to notice.
"So you admit there was a Mrs.Dodds!" Crystal spoke up to Grover.
"Of course."
"Then why-"
"The less you knew, the fewer monsters you'd attract, we put mist over the human's eyes. We hoped you'd think that the Kindly one was just a hallucination. But it was no good, you started to realize who you are" Grover said. "Too late, Crystal was reading a book about Greek Mythology last night," I said and the said girl mumbled an apology.

"Wait, what do you mean by that? They realize who you are, part?" Percy asked the Satyr but his mom interrupted "Percy, there's too much to explain and not enough time, we have to get you all to safety."
"Who's after us?" Crystal asked but I do know part of the answer to that. "Oh, nothing much," Grover said. "Just the Lord of the dead and a few of his bloodthirsty minions."
I just want to slap him now.
"Grover!" Everyone except him said in the car.
"Sorry, Mrs. Jackson. Could you drive faster please?" Grover said.
"Where are we going in the first place?" I asked, "A summer camp." Mrs.Jackson answered me. After that, Percy and Grover argued but it thankfully stopped.
As Sally drove, Grover sent me worried looks and mumbled 'useless' again and again.
I started to get annoyed by this and whacked him on the head.
"Stop beating yourself up! I'm alright!" I said sharply to the Satyr.
"But you got hurt! It's my job to keep Percy and Crystal safe and I dragged you and possibly your aunt in with us," he said and sighed deeply. "I'm still alive and we are safe, that's what matters most. I may not be...one of you guys– but I'll still be fine just knowing that you and everyone are safe." I said again "You didn't fail here man," Percy said while Crystal nodded. Grover smiled slightly "You guys are the kind-."
Suddenly a big lightning bolt hit the car roof and sent it into the air.
Next thing I remember laying on the roof and I could feel blood coming from my nose. My head started to throb painfully and my breath became uneven. I groaned and clutched my head, thankfully it didn't seem that bad since the first one...
"Grover..." I could hear Crystal calling his name but he didn't reply.
"Are you guys okay?" Mrs. Jackson asked.
"I'm fine" Percy answered and groaned.
"I'm good, but I think Grover is unconscious" Crystal answered.
"I'm alive," I said then I froze when I heard the Minotaur roar from the distance "Kids get out of the car." I heard Mrs. Jackson say in a serious tone.
I then kicked the window hard enough so it cracked until it finally broke.
I crawled to it and ignored that some of the shards pierced my arms after I'm out I pulled Grover carefully through the window's glass shard. I took his arm and swung it over my shoulder and helped him up. But, I collapsed to the ground again with Grover above me. This goat feels heavy for some reason...

"Let me help you" Crystal appeared and she helped me with Grover.
I mumbled a thank you and pushed myself up, and a hand wrapped around my waist, supporting me. I turned and found Mrs. Jackson helping me to walk while helping her son.
"I'll help you walk," she said softly.
"No, you have to go now," I said "It's dangerous for you to stay, that thing could come any moment" I insisted but she shook her head "It's okay, we will be safe after this."
"Why?" I asked "I'm not even your daughter"
"I consider you as my daughter Mika," she chuckled at me. "From that moment when you become my son's best friend" she looked at me "Besides, you just risked your own life to buy us some time" and Percy, who was beside her spoke "And you can sometimes act like a sister to me," he said making me smile a little.
The roar became louder and louder but we managed to reach a peak of a hill. I saw the view of what looks like a stone archway from here. Mrs. Jackson placed me on the ground next to a giant pine tree and walked towards Percy. But she stopped when she saw the Minotaur charged towards her and her son. Mrs. Jackson yelled something sound like jump to the side, and she jumped to the left with Percy, while Crystal and Grover went to the right.
The Minotaur charged straight ahead and stopped on its track, it turned around and roared in anger again. This time the Minotaur charged at Mrs. Jackson, she jumped to the side but unfortunately, the Minotaur extended it hand and caught Mrs. Jackson.
"Mom!" Percy yelled and ran to the Minotaur.
"No, Percy!" Mrs. Jackson yelled, "You will be safe inside the camp border!"
After that, the Minotaur squashed her with its hand, Mrs. Jackson turned into some kind of golden mist and disappeared.
I know she didn't die, just disappeared to somewhere. That kind of mist looked similar to the servants going in and out of their spirit forms after all.
But since Percy didn't know that he yelled in anger and charged at the Minotaur empty-handed only to be swatted like a fly.
Unfortunately the Minotaur recognized me because it roared in anger and charged.
When I closed my eyes...nothing happened, when I opened them again I see Percy fighting it off. "Percy! Don't you fucking-!" I said but he didn't seem to hear me, ah shit.
Percy was then on the Minotaur and road it by the horns while Crystal tried to shush Grover. A scream was heard and when I looked at the minotaur it had lost a horn, and Percy was on the ground with a horn on his hand as he staggered when he stood up.
When the monster charged at Percy he suddenly rolled to one side and came up kneeling as the monster barrelled pass by he stabbed him in the chest and it roared as he started to disintegrate, when did Percy fight again? Oh...the furry...right...
"Whoa, Mika," Percy said and he crouched in front of me since I started to shiver because I was still wearing wet clothes and it started to get windy, "Don't pass out now, please?"
Percy turned to face Grover unconscious form but sighed in relief when he was taken care of by Crystal and turned back to me again "How am I suppose to help you though?"
"Just help me up, ya idiot" I said and Percy did just that.
I winced in pain and leaned on a tree quickly because of my ankle. Need to really get that treated, "Go inside, get some help," Crystal said to Percy "I'll be here with Grover and Mika." Percy nodded quickly while I smiled for reassurance. "Go, I don't know how much longer I can stay awake." Percy then quickly ran the supposed border and disappeared.
I sighed heavily and rested my head on a tree, Crystal told me to rest for a while.
I then closed my eyes for a moment and heard footsteps and somehow the clopping of hooves come towards us. I quickly opened my eyes again and saw a girl with curly blonde hair, and grey eyes staring at me and look away.
She walked to Grover and helped him up with a sandy blonde-haired kid, with icy blue eyes, and a scar decorating his left cheek. The last thing that I saw was Crystal and a Centaur.

Luck Lockyer

The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online
