After you watched practice for a little while one of the managers came in to call you all for dinner. So the boys quickly cleaned up then left to the kitchen with you.
On your way to the kitchen your little group passed by the one and only Shitatorizawa. "Hey it's the little shorty manager!" one of them called out. "Bitch what the hell did you just call me?!" you quickly said as you turned your head around.
"Come on speak up bitch or are you too much of a pus-"
"(Y/N)-San please stop, we have to go eat." Akaashi sighed. You looked back at Akaashi then back to the Shitatorizawa boys, who were all just starring.
"Fiiiiiiine, but drop the formalities Akaashi, it's lame." you yawned before continuing to walk with your group.
Back with the bitchy prep school kids (i love them, i just had to say it though-).
"She's uh.....interesting.".
"I didn't even expect her to be like that.".
"Wow the guess monster wasn't able to read someone, how surprising.....".
"Semi-Semi stop being so sarcastic!!".
"Let's go we need to eat our dinner.".
✨✨
After dinner when everyone was cleaning up the coaches entered the cafeteria. "We have an announcement to make!" Coach Nekomata exclaimed.
"We decided that since we have more teams this year we should do a special little game." the same coach grinned. "So tomorrow we'll be doing a-"
"A battle of the aces!" Ukai yelled before getting hit in the head by Nekomata for interrupting him. "Ahem, like Ukai here said we'll be doing a game where the aces of each team will come together and play against each other!".
"But coach there's only nine aces and that's uneven." Kuroo called out. "We're aware of that, but we have a stand in ace who already said she'll play.

"Oh oka-...wait did you say 'she'?" Kuroo questioned and received a nod from his coach. "Well of course, she's the only other ace around." Nekomata explained. "But isn't that unfair for this girl?" Lev questioned.
"You're right is a little unfair, but not for me." you said loudly from your seat. "That's right which ever team you're on would probably win." Ukai smirked. "WHAT (Y/N)!?" Bokuto shouted as he pointed at the girl. "What?" you questioned with a puzzled look as you stared at the boy.
"You're an ace?" Bokuto asked, with not a hint of sarcasm in his voice. (unlike a certain little- i mean tall shit).
"(Y/N) was her school's ace in junior high! She even won nationals!" Hinata boasted. "Pft that was like three years ago, she's probably not even good." Tsukishima snickered. "Shut up Tsukishima unless you want that threat from earlier to come true." you growled.
So while Tsukishima shut up the rest of the boys were talking about you. Some of them hadn't seen you play, and if they did they've only seen you as a libero.
"We already drew the names, and we'll announce them now so you can get to know your teammates for a bit." Nekomata explained.
(I am actually randomizing the names for this so sorry if your not with the ace of your choosing!)
Wait a minute.....i don't think the aces of Shinzen and Ubuwaki (the other schools in the training camp) are named....guess they'll be left out...so let's pretend they aren't there right now!
"Ahem, so the Red Team will be, Aran from Inarazaki, Yamamoto form Nekoma,Ushijima from Shitatorizawa, and Bokuto form Fukorodani." Coach Nekomata called out.
"Which means our Blue Team will be Sakusa from Itchiyama, Iwazumi from Aoba Johsai, Azume from Karasuno and then (Y/N)!".

(Trust me i really did randomize this, if it wasn't random Bokuto and his cake would've been on your team T-T)
"So that's your teams, the game starts at 1:30 pm tomorrow, so we'll have some normal games before we have the final game, have a good night everyone.".
Then the coaches left and the teams started conversing with each other once again. "I guess we're on the same team Asahi." you smiled to said boy.
"A-Ah yeah I-I guess s-so." he managed to stutter out. "Oh lighten up Asahi, no need to be so nervous around me, we're friends right?" you replied with a slight smile.
"Y-Yeah.".
Once everyone was done in the cafeteria you left to go shower but was interrupted by one of your few friends there. "Oh hey Shin." you smiled when you saw the boy. "(Y/N), I didn't know you went to nationals before." Kita stated.
"Really, uh sorry I thought I mentioned I still play volleyball." you chuckled nervously since you had not yet mentioned it, or about your family.
"What are you hiding?" Shin questioned as he brought his face closer to yours. "Uh nothing, why do you ask?" you replied. "You're lying to my, I can just tell." Kita explained.
".....".
"Tell me what's wrong.".
"Let's go somewhere else, maybe somewhere more private."
Kita stared at you from across the little table you two were sitting at. He was clearly pitying you, and you didn't like that.
"I'm so sorry, I never knew about that, if I knew earlier I wouldn't have kept aski-".
"It's fine Shin, besides it's not your fault I decided to not tell you sooner." you sighed. "Well I understand why you wouldn't want to talk about it." he stated. "And I'm sorry I couldn't be there to help you when you needed it.".
"Hey it's alright, besides your here now so we're all good!" you smiled. "Yes and I'm really glad you're with me again (N/N)."
"Me too Shin, me too."

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?
8 106Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."
8 98Blood Seekers -- The Monolith
Blood Seekers - Book 1, is now on Amazon, including the final chapters not posted here! https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07MYJ5ZRC “You will die!” That's what the developers of Blood Seekers promised them... The most challenging MMO ever created—that’s how they advertised it. Taglines like, “Not your granddaddy’s game,” and, “Only for the hardest of the hardcore,” had gamers going crazy. Set in a gothic, Lovecraftian world, with fully realized A.I. NPCS, gamers were desperate to get their hands on the new game and dive in, and Clay was one of them. It was going to be tough, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t ready for, was countless players having their minds hijacked and being transformed into mindless, hostile creatures filled with nothing but hate who killed anyone on sight. They called them the Bloodless. Clay’s best and only friend, Rey, moved across the country she was twelve, but they kept in touch online, playing countless games together, and when Blood Seekers was released, they were both ready to step up to the plate and face the new challenge together. But now, Rey has been taken by the plague, her mind held hostage as one of the Bloodless. A mysterious black monolith has appeared at the center of the highest level zone in the game, a place no one has even come close to. Some say it will provide us with answers. Others say it will only lead to more questions. Who’s behind all this? Why are people’s minds being taken? Will we ever get to bring them back? How many more will be lost if we stay logged in? Nothing is certain, but if there’s any chance that reaching the monolith will bring Rey back back, then Clay will do everything he can to reach it. This is Book 1 in a new series from Stephen Roark! I will be posting chapters here until the book is done and published on Amazon!
