It's Finally July 4th our neighbourhood always has a big party in the middle of the road. And apparently all of the boys play a game of baseball under the fireworks. I woke up to the sound of my mom yelling my name so I ran downstairs to see her in the kitchen with Bennys mom at the counter. I look over to the living room and see Benny sitting on the couch staring and I realize that I'm only wearing a bralette satin shorts. My eyes widen before running to my room and throwing on a hoodie. I walk back downstairs and go over to my mom and see her baking cookies.

You: good morning

Mom: good morning

I take a piece of cookie dough and scoop it into my mouth.

Mom: Lilly! These are for the neighbourhood

You: oops, well good morning Anne

Anne: Good morning Lilly

You: how's your morning been

Anne: other then Benny waking me up wonderful

You: that's good well besides the Benny part he's not the brightest sometimes

Benny: I'm right here

You: that's why I said it

He rolls his eyes playfully and I walk over to him and sit on the couch with him. I over head our moms conversation and there talking about how cute we would be as a couple. I feel my cheeks heat up but I try not to show it and I look at Benny who's smiling at me oddly. I look at him confused before I hear my name

Mom: Lilly!

You: huh?

Benny: and I'm not the brightest

I roll my eyes while giggling and bring my focus back to my mom.

Mom: Lilly are you wearing that dress

You: can't I just wear what I usually wear

Mom: not for dinner, you can change for baseball

You: I'll wear a skirt not a dress

Mom: fine at least it's progress

I stand up and walk to my room to grab my clothes I change into this:

I straightened my hair and walked back downstairs to everyone.

You: mom do I have to wear this can't I just wear jeans and a nice shirt or something.

Mom: no you look pretty

Anne: you look very pretty Lilly

You: thank you Anne but I feel very girly

Mom: at least your not wearing dirty jeans

You: I would've worn clean ones

Mom: I remember when

And that's my cue to get myself and Benny out of there before some embarrassing baby story comes. So I grab his arm and drag him outside to my porch's

You: you don't need to hear whatever is about to come out of my mother's mouth

Benny: why not?

You: because it will be embarrassing

Benny: then I definitely want to hear it

He goes to open the door and pull him back but he is much stronger then me so I have to go in front of the door and block the handle.

Benny: cmon it's for experimental reasons

You: no!

Benny: your no fun

You: I am so

Benny: ok only sometimes

You: more like all the time

I plop down on the swinging chair and see Yeah-yeah, Squints, Ham, and Smalls all walking over to my house. Once they get here I stay on my porch as they all walk up to Benny and I.

Ham: woah Lilly's in a dress

Benny: after her mom forced her

Squints: why are you here anyways Benny?

Benny: my moms in there

I nod and look down the road to see the rest of the boys all jogging over.

Kenny: woah Lilly's we-

You: wearing a dress I know

Benny: ok well I need to talk to you guys

Benny stands up and they all walk onto my lawn and form a sort of huddle. I roll my eyes and walk into my house seeing my mom pulling out a tray of cookies.

You: how are the cookies turning out

Mom: perfect

Anne: what's happening out there?

You: I have no idea

I sit on one of the barstools and talk with Anne and my mom.

It's finally dinner time all of the family's have there own picnic table set up and there's lines of tables on the outside full of food other people have made. Benny and his mom sit with us on our table and we all eat together. After I finish I run into my house and change into blue skinny jeans and a red t-shirt and a white baseball Jersey. I grab my glove and run out of the house to see some of the boys waiting all ready at my doorstep. We all run to sandlot as the fireworks are getting prepared. Once we get to the Sandlot we all wait until the fireworks start and then Benny hits the ball. But we all stand there staring at the fireworks, I am as well until I feel a hand on my waist and I get pulled into someone's body. I look at the person and see Benny looking at me. He lets out a heavy sigh and starts talking.

Benny: Lilly, I-I don't know how to say this but I like you like a lot and you probably don't like me back but I just though that this would be a good time to tell you because...

He keeps rambling on and on before I stop him.

You: Benny I like you too

Benny: wait seriously

You: yes Benny

Benny: well then will you be my- my umm

You: yes Benny of course I would be your girlfriend

He smiles and I see a sparkle of happiness in his eyes , I stand there looking at him in the eyes and he's doing the same before he places his hand on my cheek brushing it with his thumb. The two of us slowly start to lean in before feeling his soft plump lips on mine.

Our lips move in sync I feel both of his hands grasp along my waist and I wrap my arms around his neck placing one in his hair. I feel like we're the only people in the world before we hear claps and cheers surrounding us. My eyes widen and I feel my face heat up, and I immediately hide my face in Bennys chest.

You: can we just start playing before my cheeks burn off

Benny laughs and let's go of me before we all start playing. Once the fireworks are over all of the boys leave but me and Benny. I walk over to the middle of the field and lay down I see someone walking towards me and I immediately know it's Benny. He lays beside me and wraps his arm around my shoulders I cuddle into his chest starring at the stars. We stay like this for a few minutes before I sit up.

You: we should get home

I stand up and pull him too his feet we both walk to our houses. He walks up to my front door with me and stops me before I can walk in.

Benny: slow down there

I smile and turn around he places his hand on my waist and Kisses me I pull away and smile before walking into my house. I watch him as he runs into his house and closes his door. I do a girly squeal that I didn't know I was capable of and my mom comes running down the stairs.

Mom: what happened!

You: oh sorry mom it was nothing

Mom; you never girly squeal about nothing

You: well... Benny asked me to be his girlfriend

Mom: that's so good to hear me and his mom were talking about how cute you both would be

You: and he sort of...

I was afraid of how my mom would react to having my first kiss but I was 15 so she shouldn't me mad, Plus she's like my best friend.

Mom: well?

You: he kissed me

Mom: your first kiss!

She hugs me and I smile at how she's happy about it and not mad.

Mom: I'm just glad it's with a sweet bit like Benny

You: me too well I'm going to sleep I'll see you tomorrow love you

Mom: love you too Hunny

I run upstairs and shower before changing into a oversized t-shirt. I lie in bed thinking bout Benny who's now my boyfriend.
