as my feet graze the water

of the florence river

boats float past,

lit by the shining moon

of the italy sky

i thought you would be here

sitting by my side

as we rode through the city

sharing kisses

as we held hands

and looked lovingly in each other's eyes

staring at my reflection in the water

as my tears ripple in the river
