spring up in my mind
that creates this hollow feeling
deep inside
it reminds me
of happier times—
times where i was
carefree and full of smiles
these times
that i bury deep in my mind
because they remind me
of times i'll never get back
the remind me
that i'm closer to my end
and there's no going back
no matter how much i wish
that time would freeze
there's only going forward from here
and that terrifies me more than it should
