i've tried writing

this poem in my head

for way too long

i've scraped almost every sentence

because it will never be good enough

for someone like you

i look up to you

like you did

with the stars in the sky

and every single one

is twinkling for you

but it will never capture

the beauty you truly were

i may never see you again

or hear your voice again

but i know now

that every single twinkling star

is reminding us

that you're still here

in every single heart
