《Good Looking》XII. I Wanna Be Yours

All this stress is going to give me pimples and make my hair fall out.
When the sun began to beat down on my face, I opened my eyes slowly to check my surroundings.
I was back in my bedroom, I don't remember how I got here or if I simply sleep walk and brought myself up here but I wasn't ready to get up yet.
I check my clock and it read only eight in the morning, so I got up and closed my blinds before shutting my curtains and getting back into my warm and comfortable bed.
My mind went back to the conversation of Miguel that I had with Venus, I was fully aware that I had s crush on him now but it hasn't even been a full two weeks, also knowing the fact that he might not even feel the same way.
At this point, I decided to get up and brush my teeth to get my day started, I was no longer able to sleep any longer due to my thinking.
I walked to my closet after leaving the bathroom, I looked for some outfit that'll look nice on me.
Some of my outfits were pink but the rest were different varieties of colors, I liked having my options open and I like how each outfit looked on me.
Once I found a nice pink outfit, I grabbed it and began to change into it before doing my hair and some light make up.
When I finished getting dressed and doing my hair, I decided that I wouldn't wear any makeup and just opted for my mascara and concealer for today.
I walked downstairs to my sister and my mother cooking some breakfast togetber, Venus was doing a better job than my mom was and that was a fact.
"What are you guys making?"
I questioned as I walked to the island and sat down, Venus shrugged her shoulders and passed me a bowl of captin crunch.
Easily my favorite cereal, it's my comfort cereal as well.
"I'm just gonna stick with my cereal than whatever mom's trying to burn."
I teased, my mom had a dry laugh before walking over to me and kissing my forehead.
Venus sat beside me with her bowl of fruity pebbles.

"Did you figure out if you liked him or just found him attractive?"
Venus asked me, getting straight to the point the minute mom had left to go to her office.
I choked on my cereal and looked at my sister as if she was crazy, the suddenness of the question was what caught me off guard.
"Oh uhm, I mean yeah I figured it out."
I informed my sister as I began to wolf down my cereal before she could ask any more questions, Venus chuckled and finished her cereal.
Grabbing both of our bowls, Venus walked to the sink and began to do the dishes while I make my escape to the front door.
Let me tell you, when I don't want to answer any type of questions that either make me uncomfortable or even make me feel embarrassed, I just run away from it and hide out until the question goes away.
I was just wandering around, I didn't know where to go at all so I just walked to the park because, why not?
I walked into the park and walked to the swings, I always loved the swings although there are moments I just fall off and then crack open my head or break my skin.
As I walked past the gates off of the swings, I felt someone grabbed my shoulder and cover my mouth, I screamed until I heard laughter.
"God, you're a pyscho!"
I shrieked as I shoved Miguel, he laughed and walked past me to go onto the swings.
"I'm sorry, just saw the opportunity and took it."
Miguel defended himself as he laughed, I bit back a chuckle and nodded before walking next to him and sat on the swings.
"I thought I was gonna get kidnapped, legit my life flashed before my eyes... I've made a lot of questionable decisions come to think of it."
I laughed and Miguel smiled as we began to talk, turns out he was bored and his friends were busy so he decided to come to the park.
He asked me why I was here.
"Avoiding questions and whatnot."
I answered truthfully but I didn't go into depth about it, Miguel nodded his head.
He had a black hat on, backwards with a black shirt and ripped jeans.

"I like the outfit you have on."
I complimented him, Miguel returned the compliment.
"Are you and your friends doing anything next week, Friday?"
Miguel suddenly asked, I looked at him and told him to hold on before texting the group chat and asking them if we have any plans for next week Friday.
All of them told me no and had asked me why but I told them to wait, then told Miguel that I wasn't doing anything.
"Well, my friends and I were gonna go to the movie theater to watch a new horror movie. I was wondering if y'all wanted to join us?"
Miguel invited, he rubbed the back of his neck and looked away.
"I'm in but I'll ask them if they're also in."
I responded before pulling my phone out and asking the group if they wanted to join me to the movie theater, everyone agreed to go.
"They're in, whose going?"
I asked, I'm sure that his friends are good people but it didn't hurt to ask him if they make bad decisions or if they were just Thad people in general.
Valentina's judging them either way, she's the friend that we have to say 'Be nice' to when meeting new people, the girl has zero filter.
"Oh, the two people that you saw at the pool and then two more."
Miguel answered vaguely, I nodded my head and we continued to speak until the sun began to go down, he offered to walk me home like last time and I accepted the offer without any hesitation.
We decided to see who could run the fastest after two minutes, so while running, I tripped over a pebble and nearly bashed my face in.
When Miguel walked back to check if I was alright, i was laughing to the point my insides hurt.
Running while laughing should be considered a sport because it is so difficult to do at the same time.
"I'll see you next week? Maybe sooner if you're at the park again."
Miguel told me, I nodded my head and we waved each other goodbye before I walked into my house and locked the door.
Venus was sitting in the living room, on the ground doing some type of ritual.
"Mom said you can't bring anymore demons into our house."
I reminded my sister as I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch, Venus looked up from her little project and glared at me, scrunching up her nose in the process.
"I'm actually trying to see if you can bag a boyfriend, the papers say no."
Venus spat, I chuckled and looked at what she was doing.
It was paper but it didn't have anything written, Venus crumbled the paper up and walked over to the couch to sit next to me.
"The papers did say you were stressing over Michael."
My sister told me as she looked at the tv, she began to look for either a show or a movie to put on.
"Miguel, and what are you even doing with those papers?"
I corrected my sister, Venus shrugged her shoulders and clicked on Annabelle Comes Home, it was our favorite movie since we always make jokes about the situation but then pee our pants when the lights go out.
"Yeah Malachi, why are you stressing over him anyways?"
"Miguel, and the stress is because I need get my life together."
I corrected my sister once more before getting up and walking to the kitchen, Venus followed me after putting the movie on pause to continue the discussion.
While I was pouring out my heart and soul to my youngest sister, I was always making up popcorn and getting something to drink.
"So you wanna be his, but you're scared cause it's too early?"
Venus asked me summing up all of what I had just told her, I nodded and handed her the full bowl of popcorn as we made our way to the couch.
All this stress is going to give me pimples and make my hair fall out.
I sighed as I grabbed a piece of popcorn and placing it in my mouth, Venus just sighed with me and unpaused the movie.
Am I even sure that I wanted to be his? That's a question not even Einstein can answer.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment. After Z
The signs were all there. A mysterious fever spreading in the wake of the pandemic. Increasing incidents of unrest with surprisingly little coverage by the media. Breakdowns in basic services. Nick had thought for years that total social collapse would come in his lifetime – he just never expected that collapse to come from the unquiet dead. As soon as he was sure enough that the potential danger outweighed the awkwardness of admitting that yes, the dead were rising, Nick grabbed his bug out bag and bugged out. It felt, at times, that the zombie movies, comics, and games he’d grown up with had been preparing for this moment. And Nick was right. But also very very wrong. After Z is an apocalyptic occult interactive serial about survivors hiding from the dead in a forest preserve. A new chapter is posted every week, and every week supporters vote on which way the story flows. This story will be added to daily until it's caught up with its current state elsewhere; if you don't want to wait you can read ahead on my blog.
