Demon-slayer knight Hector Aeronwen became an enemy of all humankind after saving a dying half-demon girl out of pity. Little did he know, his impulsive action had forever changed the course of the world and the fates of many. This is the story about Hector's desperate quest and the beginning of the demoness whose destiny is to shake the world to its very foundation. Author's note: At the risk of spoiling too much of this story, I want to reveal a bit about the core idea behind this work of fiction. I set out with the idea to write a story in the perspective of the second in command of a demon lord, which then would be followed up with large scale kingdom buildings and warring states. But then I asked myself: what past do they have between them for the Demon Lord to have so much faith in her second in command, and for him to be so loyal to such a horrible being? So this is my attempt at writing the origin of those two, who, while hated by all races in the world, still have each other as the only confidant to entrust their life to. Thearth. A sand planet with little to offer. Only the great crawler cities provide any form of permanency other than the great desert. Continuously roaming the sands in search of clouds, the only source of water, and quite possibly the next great Vortex. A being/machine/creature or something else entirely that forms a massive floating island and provides the other essential resource necessary for life, Aserite. It is used to power everything and anything. People cannot just take it as they will. They must fight the Vortex's guardians to claim the almost magical resource.
