Even I Don't Want to See the World Burn Down: Rank SSS Demon
A very powerful demoness by the nickname Amethyst has been causing chaos and destruction for over 1000 years, except over the last couple hundred years, she's become rather bored and hasn't really done much out in the world. Until one day, encouraged by a friend, she heads out once again to wreak havoc on the world only to run across a half-elf half devil child. Not having been in the situation before, she decides to take the child and raise it herself. Diguising herself as a devil as well, Amethyst goes to a nearby human city with the child to raise it in a more "suitable" environment. Follow along Amethyst and her "adopted" child as they adapt to changing fantasy world with advancing technology, a diverse range of beings like elves and arachne, and the destructive power of monsters and other demons. And of course, they can't just be left to their own devices cause the world is set to turn into an intolerable hellscape if no one does anything about it. Not even Amethyst wants that to happen. *Author's note: this story is a work in progress meaning chapters may get deleted, editing will happen, and chapter releases will be irregular as I'm doing this just for fun. Plus this is my first time working on this sort of thing. So if you're ok with all of that, read along. Of course, comments and feedback are always welcome. The various races of the land of Onterrath have always struggled for supremacy. These wars caused the annihilation and extinction of many races. The battles for hegemony lasted until the day when greed and desire led to the creation of a portal to the Rift. The Rift sent forth hordes of creatures to destroy Onterrath. No one was prepared for the invasion, and this brought about the demise of nearly every living being on the continent. The survivors picked themselves up and fought back. They rebuilt the world while strengthening themselves for the eventual Rift wars. Follow Liam's journey after he returns from the Rift and becomes the savior of Onterrath. ******* The release schedule will be a five chapters per week. Author’s note: Second Chance is primarily about the flow of combat between characters, each with their own reasons for fighting. The world is dynamic, constantly changing through the story based on the actions of the characters. The story is intended to be told not just through writing, but through music and animation as well. It took them all their might to ensure that they did not die in that cold and airless space before they were knocked unconscious from the strain. Waking up from that was no blessing either as They suddenly where in a world of science and space travel. Magic has long since been disproven as a force in that universe and Glyphnax near god-level powers have been reduced to a mere shade of what they were before. Strange blue boxes with arbitrary numbers and statistics fill up his vision and his stranded on a strange ship manned by Humans and other weirder creatures. They now have to deal with the dangers of space, megalomaniacal courier corporations, ancient cyborg hordes and an overly concerned AI with abandonment issues.
