"My brothers trusted me so much. The pain they had in their eyes when they get to know that I am pregnant. I could never forget that look in my whole life. They were hurt. If they also hated me like others, they would not have got hurt," I said and a lone tear escaped my eyes.

"I am sorry. It's all because of me..." he said.

"No no no, I didn't mean to hurt you. You know what? It's not your mistake. I know, you are in the same situation as me," I reassured him.

"I just didn't expect things to happen so fast. I felt carefree all this years, but when you suddenly said that I am father to a child, I lost it. I didn't meant to walk away like that, but I don't know. I am just not ready to accept this, that I am going to have a baby. Because I know nothing is going to be the same anymore," he said.

"I know, I just feel the same. This feeling is all new to me. And, our life is definitely different from others. You know I thought, I will fall in love just like everyone else. Spend sometime getting to know my partner and then start a family, just like everyone. I know you had the same plan about your life. Who would've expected, the party that I was avoiding at any cost, the party to which my brothers forced me to come so that I won't feel left out, would change my entire life. Life is always unpredictable right?" I smiled bitterly. Immediately a guilt expression crossed his face. Oh sh!t, why his mood changes this quickly?

"Okay listen, every time we take this topic, you are feeling guilty as if you were the reason all of this to happen. But, you know what? This is all god's plan. I strongly believe in destiny and this," I pointed between both of us, "is a play of destiny. So, let's just play along. I am not someone who blame others for my mistake. Because believe me, I have experienced how it feels when someone else blame me for their mistakes. So, chill," I finished my long speech. I don't know if any of it went inside his brain or not.

"Sure. I can't help but feel responsible for your life to become like this. But, don't worry. I will try to make this happen. Make 'us' happen," he said.

"That's good. So, let's continue our 'knowing each other' session," I said.

"So, what is your ambition?" he asked and tears formed in my eyes. My ambition WAS to become a dancer. But, now it is never going to be the same again. My dream has just shattered. I quickly blinked back my tears. 

"I really don't have an ambition, you know" I lied. If I said my desire to become a dancer was shattered because I am pregnant, he would feel guilty all over again. "What about you?" I asked him back.

"Well, even I don't have an actual ambition. But, my dream is to create the first ever ecological house of my own design. I am actually working on this for last 2 years. I am almost done with the design and if time allows, I will start on it soon," he said and his eyes was full of aspirations.

"I actually forgot to ask, what are you working as?" I asked him.

"Oh that... I am the MD of the company...you visited that day," he said and there was changes in this voice that was hard to ignore.

"Is everything alright? Why do you not feel happy talking about your job?" I asked him, unable to hold my curiosity.

"I am indeed not happy about my job. I am working there because I have no other choice," he said.

"How can there be no other choice? You can definitely work at other place if you are not happy with the current one. It is really important for you to love your job," I said.

"Yeah, but I am going to leave that job when my project gets successful. Then, I will start a job of what I truly studied," he said. "What are you working about?"

"I am working as a software engineer," I said and he looked surprised.

"Oh, didn't know you was an engineer," he said.

"Ha, that I studied for the sake of my brother. As I really didn't have an ambition, so I studied what my brother wanted for me. Also, I am working at his friend's company," I said.

"You must really love your brother," he said and I nodded. It's true. I love him more than anything else.

After that, we both talked about many random things. We talked about sports, favorites, friends, childhood and many more. He said he got two best friends, just like me. One was Abhi and another was Sandhya. He said she is studying at abroad currently.

The day went just like that. I felt we both grew closer in that day because of all the things we shared. He sounded like an ideal husband, but I couldn't decide it now, because no one shows their true self in just one day. But, till that moment I have a good feeling about him. The way he apologized to me for leaving me at hospital that day, shows he is a gentleman.

The next day, when I was about to book a cab to go to office, Siddharth offered to drop me at my office.

"I will pick you up later?" he asked with hesitation and I nodded, smiling assuringly. When I reached my desk, Harish and Kavya greeted me.

"How do you feel?" Kavya asked, concerned.

"Good. Just little uncomfortable. You know, I always feel like throwing..." Kavya cut me off.

"Idiot, I am asking about Siddharth," she said again.

"Oh, he... He is good. We talked yesterday. His friend gave a suggestion and I feel that will work. Urmm we will stay together until 12 weeks of my pregnancy and if things worked between us we will get married and if not... I will abort the baby," I said.

"That is...great. Yeah, I really hope things works between you guys. He looks like a good guy," Kavya said.

"Harish... Why are you quiet?" I asked him. He is not the type to be quiet, especially not when we are having a serious convo.

"Nothing, I just want you to be happy. Don't let him bully you," he said and I smiled.

"What is this group meeting about? Are you guys planning on a new project that I am not aware of?" came an irritating voice, our supervisor. The worst supervisor one could get!!!

"Nothing SIR" Harish said sarcastically. 

"Then, get back to your work. I don't like wasting time like this," He said.

"Then, shouldn't you also be at your cabin working?" Harish mumbled under his breath. Only me and Kavya could hear him. We burst our laughing.

"I said, get back to work," he said, his voice louder now.

Then, the day went as usual, boring and sleepy. Being pregnant definitely doesn't help working in a boring company like that.

"You know, you don't have to drop and pick me up daily. I can understand, you might be busy," I said as soon as I got into the car.

"Nahh, that's okay. I am just worried about you. You are pregnant some more," he said.

"Ohh, thanks..." I said.

"So, how was your day?" he asked me again.

"Same old boring stuff. How about you?" I asked him.

"Same, work is never going to be fun, at least not for me," he said and laughed lightly. "Abhi has invited us to have dinner with him. Do you want to go?" he asked me.

"Oh, he will feel bad if I didn't go, wouldn't he?" I asked him. Actually, I was feeling more tired than usual.

"Nahh, it's up to you. We can explain," he said but I still don't want to disappoint me.

"Hurmm, let's go then. I don't want to disappoint him," I said and he smiled. He drove us to a nice restaurant. I went and I was shocked.

"Surprise!!!" Kavya and Harish shouted in unison. I saw Abhi sitting with them.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked them

"Get-together," Harish said. "I thought it will be a stress reliever for you if we hang out for some time," Siddharth said. Wow, what a good thought.

"Thank you, but when did you plan all this?" I asked him and he said, "Yesterday when you said you love hanging out with your friends. I owe you a sincere apology so I thought..." he said.

"Oh, I told you not to worry about that. But, thank you so much," I said.

"Okayyy have your thanks-saying-ceremony later. Let's order food first!!!" Abhi said and we all agreed.

After the food was served, Abhi, Kavya and Harish started their party mode with wine. Since I was pregnant, I only drank juice. And Siddharth passed it since he have to drive.

I truly had a lot of fun. Abhi and his weird jokes never failed to make us laugh. I had a hearty laugh after such a long time. It feel like forever since I have been this happy. That one moment, I forgot about everything and laughed.

"Thank you!!! I really feel happy now. All the stress I had all this days, seems to have reduced a bit," I said.

"I just hope you will be happy and I want you to know, that whatever may come, we will handle it together," he said. That meant a lot to me. We bid bye to everyone and started home.

We hit the bed as soon as we reached home, because we were so tired. It felt weird for me to call it home after staying only few days. But, it will be my home, if we both liked each other. I truly liked Siddharth because he was genuine, sometimes cute. I drifted off to sleep thinking about him.

In the middle of the night, I woke up feeling thirsty. I went to the kitchen, because the jar beside my bed was empty. I opened the fridge and saw ice cream in it. I took the ice cream tub and noticed it was my favorite ice cream. Who would be lucky enough to find their favorite ice cream in the fridge? 

"Oh my god. This is so good," I mumbled to myself and started eating. Suddenly, I heard some noises behind me. Fear occupied me. 'Is that a thief?' I thought to myself.

I quickly grabbed the flower vase in the dining table. I prayed to god and turned, getting myself ready to attack him.
