《Outlander》Chapter 3

Saying my goodbye to them as they waved back at me, I was about to leave when Claude called me.
"Via!" He called as I faced him, smiling at him as I waited for him and crouching down to match his height.
"You'll visit again, right?" He asked as my smile widened, nodding my head, "Yes, I will." I replied, earning a smile from him and my eyes widened as he hugged me.
"Come back soon." He mumbled, tightening his hug to me, patting his back as Sister EL called for him, "I will, Claude. I promise." I said as he gave me a light peck on my cheeks.
Giggling at him as he ran back but now before seeing a faint blush on his cheeks, "Cute." I whispered as he looked back once again and waved at me.
Sighing as I began to walk, looking down at my wrist watch it was already quarter to seven, with the kids and Sister EL insisting that I have dinner with them, I agreed as they all screamed excitedly.
Smiling at the memory, feeling someone following me, I sighed and discreetly looked over my shoulder.
A man wearing a black hoodie, a mask covering his face was closely following me. As I continued to walk at the dark alley, taking a sharp turn to the left I teleported above the building.
Looking down as the man turned, he halted looking around looking for me, shaking my head as I walked away and teleported in front of the house.
Lights were already on indicating that someone is inside, pressing the doorbell, seconds later, the door opened with James wearing a pink apron.
"Pink? Really?" I asked as he looked down, "What's wrong with wearing pink?" He asked as I shook my head and went inside.
"You're right above Captain Rogers." He said as I shrugged off my coat and hung it at the coat stand, "Of course, I am." I said, "I saw what happened at the Time Square." I added as James looked at me, furrowing his eyebrows.
"You did?" He asked as I nodded my head, "How?" He asked, "I was strolling nearby." I answered as he continued to cook, "Where's Ian and Fergus?" I asked, "Mission." He simply answered as I nodded my head.
"Where were you?" He asked, "Orphanage." I replied as he looked at me over his shoulder, "Don't ask me, my feet brought me there." I said, earning a chuckle from him.
"Dinner?" He asked, placing lasagna on the table, his eyes widened as he sat down, looking intently at me, raising my eyebrow as I fetched a plate and put some lasagna on my plate.

"What?" I asked, placing a spoonful of lasagna in my mouth, "Your eyes and hair." He said as I coughed, James immediately stood up and grabbed a glass, quickly pouring some water and handing it to me.
Accepting it as I swallowed the food, "I know, I was shocked at first seeing it. I swear, I didn't do something." I said as he furrowed his eyebrows, "Maybe because of your powers." He said as I nodded my head.
"Maybe." I mumbled as we continued to eat.

Wearing a black shirt tucked in shorts and plaid long sleeve blouse, tying my hair in a half bun and putting on my combat boots. I went downstairs, seeing Ian and Fergus sitting at the couch.
I marched towards them and gasped seeing cuts on their faces, arms, and legs.
"Why didn't you call me?" I asked as both of them looked at me, "We don't want to disturb you." Ian replied, rolling my eyes as I sat on the center table.
"Come closer." I said as they obliged, facing my palms towards them as I slowly moved my fingers and seconds later, their wounds healed like nothing happened.
Sighing as I check them for any injuries, "Do you feel any pain?" I asked as they shook their heads and leaned their back at the couch, they sighed in unison earning a giggle from me.
Fergus looked at me, tilting his head to the side as I raised my eyebrow, "What?" I asked, "Something changed." He replied as I smirked.
"Dumbass, her eyes and hair changed." Ian said as they both froze, laughing at them as they both abruptly sat up, looking at me with wide eyes.
"Your eyes and hair." They said in unison, shaking my head and laughing at them, "I also don't know how. I just... It just happened." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"What do you mean it just happened?" Ian asked, "It's not just it magically happened." Fergus said, looking at me as I looked at them, "You really don't know?" Ian asked as I nodded my head.
"Does that perhaps have something to do with your magic?" Fergus asked, "Maybe." I answered as they furrowed their eyebrows.
☘
"You came back." Claude said as I opened my arms and he ran towards me, scoping him, hugging me tightly as he snuggled in my neck, "I missed you, Via." He whispered as I smiled and brushed his hair.
"I missed you too, Claude." I answered as he let go of me, our eyes met and he gave me a wide smile, "Are you staying for awhile?" He asked, nodding my head, his eyes brightened and hugged me again.

"Good morning, Via." Sister EL greeted, looking at her, "Good morning, sister." I replied as if on cue the children ran towards me and Claude climbed down, standing beside me.
"Via!" They said, excitingly as my smile widened, "Hello. How are you?" I asked as they hugged me one by one.
Laughing at them as I saw Claude frowning, excusing myself as they nodded their heads and played. Approaching Claude he looked at me, "What's wrong?" I asked, "I only want Via to myself." He said as I giggled.
"Oh, Claude. Why are you so cute?" I asked, lightly tapping his nose as he scrunched his nose and looked at me. Smiling at him as I reached out my hand, he instantly took it and intertwined our hands, giggling at his action as he dragged me towards the table where his sketchbook is.
"I drew you last night." He said, opening his sketchbook without letting go of my hand, seeing his difficulty, "You can let go of my hand." I said as he shook his head, laughing at him as I let him hold my hand.
Flipping a page, my eyes widened and gasped, on the page was a sketch of me, a detailed sketch of me.
"Is it that ugly?" He asked, bowing his head and was about to close his sketchbook when I softly grabbed it from him.
"Beautiful. It's so beautiful, Claude. Thank you." I said, "I'm speechless. You draw so well." I added, looking at him, a faint blush can be seen on his face as I smiled at him.
"I love your eyes and hair." He said, shyly as I placed his sketchbook down, placing my hand on his face as I slowly lifted it up, our eyes met, "Thank you. Truly." I said and kissed his forehead.
As his blush deepened, my smile widened, "I-I... U-uh... I-uh... I-I will draw you some more. You became my inspiration and friend." He said, stammering, "Then I would be honored to be the subject of your art, Claude." I replied as he looked at me and slowly a smile formed on his face.
"Really?" He asked, excitedly, "Of course. To be drawn by someone as talented as you, it would be my greatest pleasure, Sir." I replied as he giggled and nodded his head and started to scribble something on his sketchbook, smiling at him seeing how happy he was.
Sister EL called me, excusing myself to Claude as I approached her, "Is anything wrong, Sister?" I asked, worriedly, "Oh, no, dear. It's quite the opposite I say. I thank you for making Claude and the children happy. And for visiting the orphanage. You've done a tremendous help for us." She replied as I smiled.
"It's nothing, Sister. I'm glad that I can help in any way. I also thank you for introducing me to them." I said as we looked at the children, "You're a good woman, Via. Your soulmate will be lucky to have you." She said as my smile disappeared.
"Oh, dear. I'm sorry, did I mention something not good?" She asked, looking at me worriedly, smiling at her and shaking my head, "It's just that the soulmate topic is quite sensitive for me, that's all, Sister." I replied.
"I'm sorry, dear." She said, "No, it's okay. No harm done." I replied as she patted my hand, "Everything will fall into place." She said as I nodded my head.
"Lunch is ready." Sister Cristine said as the children stood up, "Wash your hands first." She added as Claude approached me, "Are you hungry?" He asked as I smiled at him.
"I should be the one asking you that." I said, crouching down to match his height, shaking his head as I tilted my head to the side, "No, the man should ask the woman." He replied, earning a giggle from me.
"Oh, my. Last time I remember you're still 6, Claude." I said, "I'm a big boy now, so I should know how to take care of my woman." He said as I chuckled at him.
Looking at Sister EL as she shrugged her shoulders and left, exhaling a breath as I looked back at Claude, "Where did you learn that?" I asked, "From Arvin." He answered.
Giggling hearing his answer, Arvin was one of the children in the orphanage and around Claude's age.
"Okay, then. Shall we eat our lunch? I'm quite famished." I said as he nodded his head, "We shall, My Lady." He answered as I laughed at him and we went inside.
