《The Lunacy of Tyler Lockhart ✔️》Chapter Forty Seven - Past

I was due in a month, and I can't say that things were any easier than how they used to be but they were still better.

During the initial months of my pregnancy, Tyler was extra possessive. He wouldn't even let me lift my bag-pack which was totally ridiculous because my bag didn't weigh a lot. He also put restrictions on basically anything that included physical activity, but since I was born a rebel, I would go on walks and things like that without his knowledge and that gave me satisfaction even if it was a little. He wasn't always overbearing though, sometimes Tyler was super sweet. He would sneak packets of m&m's into my bag, catch me off guard with a kiss, or shower me with small gifts. I hated expensive gifts, so he would bring me budget-friendly stuff and that told me how much Tyler was trying to be good at this.

Things changed a little when I took a break from school the following months when my baby bump started to show, and it turned out that I was going to have to repeat the senior year of high school, so Tyler's plans of going to college together weren't happening anyway. I should have been sad since I wasn't going to be graduated with my friends anymore, but all I felt was relief.

Repeating a year meant I didn't have to leave town.

When I told him what was going to happen, Tyler was upset, he was furious and said that his father could "pull a few strings", which meant he was exactly making me out to be the kind of girl that Harper's gang thought I was; someone who wanted to freeload off their wealthy boyfriends and who used their sources for themselves.

And I wasn't that person. I had far too much pride and dignity to let Tyler take that away from me.

Mom had invited Tyler over for dinner, and I couldn't help but wonder if this was going to be just another family dinner and her getting to know him better or if there was going to be drama, my bets were on the latter. Knowing that Mom could morph into Ursula any minute into a friendly conversation, I warned Tyler about it.

He was very calm about the dinner invite and was sure he could use his charms on my Mom, and I was pretty darn sure he could pull it off if he left his condescending attitude home.

At exactly eight p.m., Tyler stood at the doorstep with a large bouquet of red roses in his hand and an infectious smile. "Hey."

He wore a blue shirt that matched the color of his eyes, and the fabric highlighted his toned body to perfection, and those jeans looked great on him, especially his ass and he'd worn it today purposefully because it was my favorite.

I stared at him dreamily, the father of my child. It had such a nice ring to it.

I wonder if the baby would have blue eyes like his or gray like mine.

He swooped me into his arms and rained kisses all over my face. "Have I told you how gorgeous you look, Mommy?" he whispered close to my ear.

I pointed at the bouquet, "Is that for me?"

"Hell no," he said playfully.

Mom was standing near the door watching the exchange with a curious expression on her face, "Hi Tyler."

"Hello Mrs. Lane," He flashed the charming smile towards my mother and handed her the flowers, "These are for you."

My mom smiled and it looked genuine, "Thank you, Tyler. These are beautiful."

"Not as much as you though," He complimented her.

Right answer.

She beamed at him and welcomed him inside.

I heaved a sigh of relief. This was going better than I anticipated.

Archer came down the stairs and did that stupid fist bump thing that they usually did, "Sup, man. Thought you should know Vicky spent two hours doing her hair and another hour bulldozing through her wardrobe for the perfect dress to look good for you."

Tyler laughed, "What?" he sent me a questioning look, "Well, I can't be dishonest now. I love that dress, but she knows I'd rather see her without it."

"Oh god, shut up, Tyler." I elbowed him, blushing profusely.

Archer made a face, "Dude, that's my sister, okay? Would you tone it down a little?"

"You asked for it, Archie." Tyler teased.

I sneaked a look at mom to see if she heard anything but she wasn't under ear-shot and was busy filling a vase with water for the roses.

"TYLER!!" Hazel came stomping downstairs and flew right into his arms giggling.

"Hey, how's my princess doing?" He asked.

"I'm good. Vicky's having a baby, and I asked her if her stomach was going to be cut open but she said she just had to walk into the hospital and the doctors would give her the baby. Isn't that crazy?" she asked him innocently.

"Yeah, who would have thought?" Tyler was amused. He reached behind her ear and produced a chocolate bar of Lindt. "Look what I found."

Hazel snatched out of his hand, "Thanks, Ty." She smiled gleefully and skipped into the living area where her favorite cartoon show was playing.

"You've spoilt her," I said shaking my head.

We settled down for dinner. Mom had cooked her special spaghetti and meatballs which was to die for, and there was also eggplant parmesan and roast chicken. The special double chocolate cake was saved up for dessert. This was the kind of spread that Tyler loved.

"Smells so good. I can't wait to dig in." He said.

Mom sat at the head of the table where dad used to sit before, Tyler was seated facing me with Archer on his side and I sat beside Hazel.

At first, the boys started talking about school, and hockey in general which was a little boring for me but it was good to listen to boys gossip. I knew my mom was judging Tyler from the sidelines, it's what she did, but that didn't scare me. Tyler was acting like himself, he never pretended to be someone else and I hoped that my mother would see that. It had taken a few months and a lot of convincing on my part for her to accept that he wasn't going anywhere.

"What are your plans after graduating high school, Tyler?" Mom chimed in.

"I'm looking through my options right now. I wanted to become a commercial air pilot but my dad wants me to take business management so I could help with the company. I'm thinking about going for business management, and that way I can be with my family, ma'am." He said politely, with so much respect that I thought it seemed a little out of character for Tyler but he was good at studying mannerisms and what was expected of him to say in certain scenarios so I wouldn't be surprised if he'd studied manners and polite conversation before showing up to dinner.

"Your family?"

"Victoria and the baby." He said simply.

My heart thumped against my chest and I smiled at him.

Mom seemed a little impressed by his answer. After all, she had her doubts about Tyler being a player and someone who would back out of responsibility.

"This might seem like I'm interviewing you which is not the case. I want to know your true intentions with my daughter, Tyler. I hope you understand that."

"I do, ma'am. I understand and you're free to ask me questions. I don't mind because I speak honesty fluently."

I laughed. He was so full of himself.

"Victoria tells me that you plan to marry her after graduation. Is that true?"

"Yes, ma'am. We're starting a family so I think it would be best if we got married."

"Do your parents know?"

"They'll know soon enough."

"Personally, Tyler. I think you are too young to start a family and far too immature." She said taking a sip of her wine and threw a look at our cans of coke, "You're a kid having a kid."

"Oh come on, Mom please," Archer warned her.

Tyler's expressions were unreadable, and I knew that wasn't a good sign.

"I turn eighteen in a few months." He said as if turning eighteen was the answer to everything.

"How can you guarantee that when you go to college you won't meet someone else that you might like better? You'll be older and your priories could change."

"That won't happen," Tyler said without hesitation, throwing me a look from across the table. "Victoria's everything to me."

"When you turn into an adult, sweetie and you meet new people; you will regret your decision of marrying her. Here is my suggestion. You go to college, do your thing and Vicky will complete her high-school and college and I can look after the baby in the meantime, when you're both ready, say...maybe in five years, you can get married."

There was a loud clank of the fork and the spoon meeting the plate. "This conversation is over, Mrs. Lane, and thanks for dinner. It was fabulous, although can't say the same about your hospitality."

"You're an arrogant rude boy, Tyler Lockhart. You need to do something about your attitude." Mom yelled after him as he climbed to his feet and started making his way out of the door.

"Why did you do that, Mom?" I asked her.

"I'll go talk to him," Archer suggested.

I shook my head, "Sit down. I'll talk."

"Vicky, let the boy leave."

I walked out of the house with Mom still yelling Archer's ear off. I closed the door behind me but could still feel the vibrations of her voice drifting from the open window.

"I'm going to talk to Kiara and I'm finding another solution to this! His mother should know how misbehaved he is. The nerve that boy has to talk to me like that!" she blabbered on.

Tyler stood leaning against his Blue Corvette. He'd gone out of his way to make a good impression on my mother but it had all been blown to hell. He kicked his car in frustration and kept his face hidden from me. He was breathing heavily and clutching his hair.

I touched his shoulder, "its okay."

"No, it's not! I screwed up!" He admitted softly. "I'm sorry."

"Count to ten." I rubbed his arms. "It'll calm you down."

He pulled me against his chest, and it was a little difficult to completely hug him back because of my massive stomach, but we still managed to fit perfectly. His face was buried in my hair as he tried to stable his breathing. "You calm me down, nothing else ever will." His fingers were splayed on my stomach possessively. "What your mom said is not true. I could never be interested in someone else."

I nodded. "I know. I love you."

"We are getting married when we turn eighteen whether your mom likes it or not."

"Of course we are."

He searched my eyes to see if I was just agreeing with him to keep him happy. "You're going to be a great mom and I'll be an amazing dad."

"I trust you."

He kissed me once; it was a slow kiss, slow and sweet, almost soul-crushing. "We should hang-out at my place tomorrow after school. I'll pick you up."

"Sure."

And hang out at his house, we did.

He came to pick me up after school just as he promised. Mom didn't approve, naturally. Regardless, I still went to the mansion and I had a good excuse about Tyler sharing his notes and tutoring me on certain subjects.

Everyone in his house treated me like I was fragile, or the first woman to ever get pregnant which was funny. Their cook would constantly bring me healthy fruit juices and other food that she said was good for me and the baby, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying all the attention.

We made out for some time, and then we decided to do some studying.

Snowball, the rabbit was sitting in Tyler's lap. He looked so adorable especially when Tyler was holding him in his arms. He petted him slowly and then put him on the side, as he climbed out of the bed, his lips looked pink and swollen and I liked to think I'd done a good job kissing the heck out of him. "I'm hungry and I'm gonna get a chicken cheese sandwich. What do you want?"

"Thanks, but I'm good," I said leafing through the textbook.

"I'm getting the same one for you too. You need to eat a lot of protein."

I laughed, "Okay, daddy."

He smirked, "that ended up sounding sexy."

"Jackass," I rolled my eyes. "Where's the volume two of this book?"

"Check the drawer. It should be there somewhere." He said walking out of the bedroom and closing the door behind him.

I climbed down from the bed and walked to the dresser and opened the first drawer. There were comic books and some action figures that he couldn't fit into the showcase. I checked the other two drawers and came empty until I reached for the last one and found the book I was looking for along with a few other novels that Ty was reading.

Books about business management, classic novels, some horror books and then I hit the jackpot.

Tyler's black diary.
