《Michael and Sara One-Shots (Misa)》1x07 Riot

"Why again did we have to wait to do this today? We could have easily done it a week ago." Sucre said to Michael.
"I told you," Michael began. "I have a specific plan in place and everything has to be timed perfectly." Sucre mumbled something else before starting to sing loudly creating havoc throughout the prison.
In Sucre's defense, he wasn't necessarily wrong. They totally could have started the riot last week and gotten ahead of schedule, however, there was an unexpected road block in his plan.
"How are you today Michael?" Sara asked him while grabbing his shot. He gave a small smile.
"Fine. Just another day in prison. And you?" she gave a small smile and he returned it.
"I'm good. I get to take today off next week and I am definitely looking forward to it." she said with a hint of exhaustion. This peaked Michael's interest. If she was gone, she would be safe from any harm.
"You mean to tell me you don't want to see my face every day?" he asked with a playful hurt look. She shook her head and gave him the shot. "You need a day off." he said sincerely.
"You can say that again." she said. He smiled before he was escorted back to his cell.
He smiled at the memory. Today was her day off so he knew she would be away from any harm.
The voices within the prison grew louder and louder and things escalated quickly. Cells were opened and things were being thrown everywhere. The guards had retreated to their safe area while prisoners chased them.
Michael checked his watch and began timing himself. He unscrewed the toilet and disappeared through the hole in the wall. He needed to get to the roof as quickly as possible.

"Girl I thought today was your day off?" Katie asked Sara as she walked through the door of the infirmary.
"I know. So did I. The boss called me in. He said there were a lot of patients today. What's going on?" Sara asked while putting her coat on.
"Small riot in A wing. Should be taken care of soon." Katie replied while handing Sara some files. She got to work immediately checking in on her patients.

Ten minutes had passed when a loud alarm rang through the infirmary. A guard stood up and started locking the doors.
"Whats going on?" Sara asked the guard with concern.
"A bunch of prisoners broke out of A wing. We need to lock all the doors and–" Sara gasped as the guard was hit with a metal chair. Sara watched as the inmates from the infirmary stood up and crowded around her. She made a beeline to her exam room and locked the door before they could catch her. She was breathing heavily as they started banging on the door.
**********************************************************************************************
Michael had just crawled back into his cell. He had managed to figure out what street they would need to take when they escaped. He screwed the toilet back together and pushed it against the wall. He walked out of his cell to see the chaos. The cellmates managed to bring the bars off of the control room. He smiled as he walked through the doors. He saw Sucre and walked over to him.
"This is crazy bro!" Sucre said excitedly. Michael grinned at him while turning towards the monitors. He felt his heart stop almost immediately. He raced over to the monitor to make sure he wasn't seeing things. He shook his head and checked again. He saw Sara locked in her exam room with seven inmates surrounding the glass. He watched one punch the glass and throw something that was on fire into the room. She wouldn't last too long in there.
"She wasn't supposed to be here." Michael said to himself.
"Who man?" Sucre came up behind him but Michael was already on his way back to his cell. He pulled the toilet away from the wall and dove through the hole. He made his way to the infirmary as quickly as he could. He could hear the shouting up ahead. He heard her scream and yell back and it chilled him to his core. He heard her coughing and he started smelling the smoke. He prayed he wasn't too late.
**********************************************************************************************
It started getting hard to breath as smoke filled the room. Sara started coughing. She had gotten slightly too close to the door and was grabbed by the neck. She yelled as the hand tightened its grip and pulled her hair. She tried her best to escape but it wasn't working. He wouldn't let go. She stretched her fingers as far as she could to grab a piece of glass on the table. She managed to grab it and immediately stuck it in the inmate's arm. He yelled in pain and looked at her with rage. Fear coursed through her body as she ran backwards. There was no way out of this. Her shoulders started to shake.

Panic started to rise in her chest. She felt a hand touch her shoulder and she just about jumped out of her skin. She ran away from the hand while keeping away from the windows which were breaking more and more due to the banging. She looked at the hand and looked up to see who it belonged to. It was Michael. A small piece of hope crossed her mind and she looked at his outstretched hand.
"Take my hand." he instructed her. She looked back at the windows breaking more and more. "Sara!" Michael said more desperately. She jumped and ran back over to his hand. She placed her hand in his and immediately she felt more safe. He helped lift her into the ceiling where all the pipes were. She sat down next to him breathing heavily.
"We need to move." Michael said taking charge. He could tell she wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. He moved closer to her and reached his hand out again. She flinched away from him. "Hey," he said gently. She looked up at him. He saw the panic and fear in her eyes. "It's okay." he reassured her calmly. "Im not going to hurt you."
"Do you see these pipes?" he asked her while pointing to them. She nodded. "These are going to get us out of here. Do you trust me?" he asked her while reaching his hand out again. She nodded again and took his hand squeezing it tightly. "Okay." he said while leading her away from the infirmary.
He felt her trailing behind a bit but he still held onto her hand tightly. He slowed down a little bit for her but he knew they needed to get out of there as quickly as possible. They traveled a little bit further through the pipes before she tugged on his hand.
"Are you okay?" he asked looking directly at her.
"I just need a minute." she said breathlessly. He listened to her breathing speed up and she ran her hands through her hair. He watched her close her eyes tightly.
"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked again. He was extremely concerned.
"The room is spinning." she said. It sounded like she couldn't quite catch her breath. He eyed her carefully and noticed her breathing coming in short gasps. She was having a panic attack.
"Sara." he said gently while moving closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly. He could feel her heart racing as she fought to take control of her body. "Breathe. You're safe with me." he told her soothingly. "As long as you're with me they can't touch you. I promise. I won't let anyone hurt you." He told her. She nodded and her breathing slowly started to return to normal. Michael sighed. You weren't supposed to be here. He said to himself. He blamed himself for her getting caught up in all of this. He pushed the thoughts from his mind. He was there now and they still had a little ways to go.
"Are you ready?" he asked her.
"I think so." she responded and they pulled away, their hands still connected. He turned away. "Michael?" she asked him. He glanced her way again. "Thank you for saving me. I don't think I would be alive right now if not for you." She gave him a small smile.
"I'll always protect you Sara." he said. And with that, he lead her to safety outside of the wall.

5 1360The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
8 162Nighthawk
Ancient tombs hold mysteries and treasures that many cannot even begin to imagine. From magical traps to deadly monsters, mechanisms are established to keep these tombs shut. However, there are brave souls who dare to risk their lives for the allure of riches and glory. Those who rob graves and storm tombs are known as Nighthawks. Lucrio Law, the young heir of Tosa, doesn’t care about graves or tombs. In fact, he doesn’t care about much besides drinking, gambling, and womanizing. But when circumstances leave him ensnared by a centuries-old curse, Luc is forced to walk the path of a Nighthawk, searching for the cure to his curse and discovering that some things are meant to stay buried. Author's Note: - This story will contain litrpg elements like Titles, Skills, and Levels. - MC will not become instantly powerful. I plan for a slower grind with a focus on the characters themselves rather than their abilities. - This is my first attempt at a litrpg story, so please leave any comments/suggestions you have!

I hope you're patient with me if you do give this fiction a try! Correction suggestions are appreciated. Same with grammar corrections. English isn't my first language, so it would help me improve. I'll try my best to make as few mistakes as possible though! Constructive Criticism is very welcome. Anything to make my first brain-child, the best it can possibly be!! If all you do is diss it, without providing anything constructive, I'm ready to pour whatever creative juices I have on making up insults for you, your mother, and all your Ancestors! ...as long as I don't feel particularly lazy at the time. Also, if your diss makes me laugh while also being true, you get a pass too. I'll even give you rep. By the way, this work will be heavily influenced by (English TLed) Japanese Light Novels and Korean Web Novels. I mainly read that kinda stuff after all. With minor influence from Wuxia and Xianxia. Really, just a little though. Oh, and Harry Potter which I read repeatedly when I was a child. If you hate those types of novels, then please piss off immediately. I don't want to waste your time. Now, If you do like them, then please give my novel a shot! *bows*
