ALEC
"Jace I swear if you dont get over here Izzy will kill both of us. I cant bake fifty cakes by myself!" I yelled into the phone. The moment the ringing stopped I yelled at him and then immediately hung up. I was tired of him bailing on me when I seriously needed him.
Izzy wanted each guest to have a small cake for her wedding. The idea was insane, but it made her happy so I would do what she asked. Only I thought I wouldn't be by myself.
I had been waiting for Jace to show up for an hour before I called him.
About ten minutes went by and I heard a knock on my door. I angrily walked to the door. "Jace! What took you so–" I stopped speaking once I realized who it was. "Magnus? What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Well, I am going to the party tomorrow and heard you and Jace were baking cakes, so here I am. Izzy thought you may need help." He added with a smile.
"Well then I'm glad Izzy invited you because Jace is a no show." I said while awkwardly letting him in. A part of me thought Izzy was just trying to force us together, but I was thankful he showed up since Jace clearly wouldn't. "Maybe this was her plan all along." I thought while walking to the kitchen.
"Alright," I mumbled while reading the directions on the back. "How many cakes does she need?" Magnus asked me. "Umm." I replied while finishing the rest of the directions. I looked back up at him. "50" i replied.
"You do realize I could just–" he waved his hand in the air. I chuckled in exhaustion. "Yeah I wish. But she wants it to be–" i made air quotes. "Special."

"Well, it is her special day." I chuckled. "Yeah. I guess her special day means me working about ten times harder." I said while smiling.
"What about Sean? Isn't he going to help?" Magnus asked me. I tried to force my smile back down, but I failed miserably. "You mean Simon?" I asked him. He waved his hand at me. "You know what I mean." He replied and returned the smile.
"Izzy's got him wrapped up in everything else." I explained. He gave me a small "hmm." And walked closer to me. "Shall we get started? Fifty cakes could take a while."
"You're telling me." I said while awkwardly walking away from him and getting a bowl. I felt tense and uncomfortable. "Why couldnt Jace show up for one thing?" I asked myself.
I grabbed the bowls and mixing spoons from the cupboard. I started to walk back to the counter where we were going to work and in the process I tripped.
A chuckle came from Magnus as he sat watching me. I mumbled something.... i dont even know what... and picked everything up.
"Ready?" He asked me with the same smile stuck on his face. I nodded and he came closer to me.
We worked in complete silence for thirty minutes. I wouldn't even make eye contact with him. I felt something tickle my wrist and I looked down. I realized some of the powder mixture landed on my wrist. I flicked it off and began to work again. A few seconds passed by and I felt something tickle my wrist again. There was more powder. I flicked it off again.
Something else tickled my wrist again a few seconds later. I let out an angry sigh. Magnus let out a small chuckle. I eyed him suspiciously while working. About a minute went by and out of the corner of my eye I saw him flick his wrist. The powder tickled my skin.

"Magnus! Its been you the entire time?" I asked accusingly. He couldnt control his laughter. I picked up a handful of powder and threw it in his direction. His laughing came to a stop and he had an evil grin on his face. "Is that really how you want to play Lightwood?" He asked me.
Before I could answer an entire box of powder was dumped onto my head. I grabbed three boxes and ran to get a bowl. I ran into the other room and filled the bowl with powder. "If thats how you wanna play." I said to myself.
I managed to sneak up behind him in the other room without him knowing and I dumped it over his head. I tried to run away but he used his magic to stop me in my tracks.
"That's cheating!" I yelled at him. "Not in my book Lightwood." He said back to me. I watched as he used is magic and he poured each mixture over me box by box.
I choked on it a couple of times when I was laughing.
"What in the hell?" I heard another voice come from the door. The pouring stopped and I turned and saw Jace in the doorway. A smile played on his lips. "What are you guys doing?" He asked us.
"Well maybe if you would have answered your phone when i called you could have joined in the fun." I said to him. "What call?" He asked me. I laughed. "What call? What call?" I asked him while grabbing my phone. I scrolled through to the most recent calls I had made.
"Its right–" i started and froze.
"You never called me Alec. Ive had my phone with me all day." He continued to tell me. I looked up at Magnus. "I never called you this morning. Why does it say I did?" I asked. Jace chuckled in the background.
"Before I could even answer you started yelling because of Jace. I figured I would come over." He replied. Jace laughed again and closed the door. I turned back around and he was gone.
"I thought you said Izzy sent you." I said to him. He shrugged. "When you opened the door all confused I figured you didnt know you called me by mistake so I just went with it." He said while giving a chuckle.
"Shall we get back to baking?" I asked him. I looked around at the mess on the floor. "We are never going to get this done..." i said out loud. I looked up at Magnus.
With a wave of his hand the mess was gone and there were fifty, perfectly baked, small caked on the counters. "She wont even tell the difference." He stated. I laughed. "This is Isabelle we're talking about. She'll know." I said. He smiled and I smiled back.
Magnus walked towards me and grabbed my wrist leading me to the door. "What are you doing?" I asked him. He turned his head at me. "I'm starving. Lets go." He replied. I smiled and followed after him.
