JACE
"Alec you coming with us?" I asked him while gathering my weapons. He sighed at me. "I cant. Imogen ordered me to stay for more dumb paperwork." He walked closer to me. "Do you both need me there. Ill come if you think you'll need backup." He told me in a serious tone. I smiled and put my hand on his shoulder.
"We'll be alright." I said with a small smile. I turned and walked away from him. "I'll call if anything happens." I told him while walking out of the building with Izzy.
"Ill know if anything happens." I heard him say just before the doors closed. I smiled and touched my parabatai rune.
"Where exactly are we going?" Izzy asked me after a while of walking. "There's a group of demons killing mundanes down by the port." I replied.
"You were right next when they assigned us." I said to her. It was a statement, but there was confusion in my voice. She shook her head slightly. "Yeah sorry. Guess I'm just a little out of it today." I gently, but sternly, grabbed her hand and pulled her to a stop. "If you feel out of it, you can go back. Alec will..."
"Alec has work to do. Ill be alright." She said with a smile. "You sure? You know how Alec will get if he finds out something's wrong." I told her. "Nothings wrong Jace. Just tired." I hesitated before nodding and we continued walking.
Even though she told me she was fine, I still kept a close eye on her. I noticed her trip twice and rub her forehead to get rid of the sweat. After the third time she tripped I stopped her.

"Izzy you're not alright." I told her. She looked at me annoyed. "Jace, I said I'm fine." I shook my head. "No, Izzy, you're not." I pulled out my phone. "I'm calling Alec so he can get over here and you're going to the infirmary." I told her while pressing Alec's number.
I turned my back on her for one second, but it was already to late. I heard the terrifying screams from Izzy coming from behind me. I turned around and saw her being dragged by one of the stray demons. I dropped the phone that was in my hands and grabbed my dagger. In less than two seconds the it disintegrated in front of my eyes and I dropped down to Izzy's limp body.
I checked her over and saw a wound behind her shoulder. Fear raced through my mind. I could hear my name being called, and I knew it was Alec through the phone I dropped. I ignored it and picked Izzy up in my arms. I ran as fast as I could to the Institute. I wouldn't let her die.

Rejecting a mate is punishable by a fate worse than death. I knew this but that didn't discourage me from doing the unthinkable. *******Brady was the single most conceit, selfish and arrogant blue blood I'd ever known. A fact that made everyone blind to the cruel poison he'd held and used to ruin my early youth. I hated him and I'd hated him most when I came of age.Where on my sixteenth birthday, as all werewolves did, I found my mate - the other half of my soul in him. Broken and vengeful I swore and refused to give myself willingly to him. Not for any other reason, not for the gods and definitely not for Him. Not even when the cost of rejecting a mate resulted in a fate worse than death. I hated him, I'd never forgive him, I didn't want him and I was so certain I'd never love him.At least that's what I thought.Too bad, I realised it a little too late. ********READ AT OWN RISK: Your heart will break to pieces before it fixes itself back together.
